QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT CLERMONT RACING CLUB SATURDAY 20 NOVEMBER 2021 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Good RAIL – True OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – C AllisonClerk of Scales – StewardsJudge – D KingVeterinarian – Dr A GuilfoyleStarter – L Lewis Race 1: MADDEN INVESTMENTS MAIDEN PLATE 1200metres MISHANI PATRIOT – Slow to begin. SENSE OF EXPENSE – Was slow to begin and raced wide throughout. TACKLE – Slow to begin. Laid outwards in the home straight. MONTELVINI – Rider S McGovern advised the mare was fractious in the barriers. Race 2: CHARLIE FLOHR MEMORIAL QTIS RATINGS BAND 0 – 55 HANDICAP 1200 metres BEGIN – Shifted outwards at the start hampering another runner. SHE’S MAGANDA – Hampered at the start. Raced three wide throughout. Laid inwards passing the 200m bumping with TAKEN ON CHANCE. TAKEN ON CHANCE – Bumped with SHE’S MAGANDA passing the 200m SHE’S OUR EMPRESS – When questioned regarding the mare’s performance rider E Bell advised the distance of the race was too short for SHE’S OUR EMPRESS and she objected to the kick back. OUR SAY – Raced wide throughout. PURPLE TRUMPET – Hampered at the start. Race 3: WENTWORTH COUNTRY STAMPEDE QUALIFIER OPEN HANDICAP 1000 metres Correct weight was delayed until Stewards had spoken to all riders involved in the race to deem if the race should be declared void. After speaking to all riders, the race was declared a race as although there had been a lack of warning the start was about to commence all runners which completed the race received a fair start. QUART POT was however declared a non-runner pursuant to AR204(1)(a) after apprentice rider A Donald was not mounted on her horse when the start was affected. Correct weight was then declared on the judges’ placings. Starter L Lewis was spoken to advisedly by the Stewards to ensure correct procedures are followed after it was evident there was a clear lack of communication prior to the start. RAIDEN – Raced wide over the early stages. BOOT SHAKER – Was declared a late scratching at 1.42pm after having not arrived on course due to suffering transport difficulties. The following deductions applied to bets placed on the winner and place getters prior to 1.42pm Win Bets BOINGO – 31 centsPlace Bets BOINGO - 21 centsPlace Bets BEST GUESS - 28 centsAll monies bet after the Stewards' declaration of withdrawal to be paid at face value of ticket.QUART POT – Was declared a non-runner after the field was released when the jockey A Donald was unmounted resulting in the horse galloping riderless throughout the race. JOHNNY WHITESOX – Reared just prior to the start being affected. Failed to muster speed over the early stages. Race 4:CFMEU CLASS B HANDICAP 1000 metres Authorisation of correct weight was delayed to allow rider M Haley and trainer J Campeao of the third placed CHATILLY to view the official photo. After viewing the photo correct weight was declared on the judges’ placings. BEAT DA LIGHT – Raced wide throughout. Race 5: NEWBEG INVESTMENTS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1400 metres DIXIE PREACHER – Was declared a non-runner pursuant to AR204(1)(c) after its gate failed to open on terms with the remainder of the field. Apprentice rider T Fenlon was examined by the on course QAS after suffering some facial and dental trauma. Ms Fenlon was cleared of any serious injury but intended to attend the Clermont Hospital for further assessment. SOUL DANCER – Approaching the first bend near the 900m put in an awkward stride and struck the running rail. Apprentice rider A Donald advised she had concerns with the action of the mare. A post-race veterinary examination failed to disclose any abnormalities.
