Stewards intend to interview Jockey R. McMahon in relation to his non-attendance at today’s race meeting. Where possible replacement riders were engaged as per Race Day Summary. Race 1: IOR PETROLEUM MAIDEN PLATE 1000m STARKIN - Jumped awkwardly. EYNHALLOW - Raced wide throughout. FLOSSY - Raced wide rounding the home turn. ZIZANGGA ZOU - Raced wide rounding the home turn. DUTCH TWIST - Raced wide throughout. Race 2: CENTRAL HOTEL CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1000m NOTHIN’ ZAPPENIN’ - Raced wide for the majority. TOUCAN- Raced wide for the majority. IMA POCKET ROCKET - Prior to the declaration of correct weight Jockey J. Babarovich made application to Stewards for the gelding, which had finished unplaced, to be declared a non-runner on the grounds that it had been denied a fair start in that an attendant who was holding the horse’s head did not release the bridle until after the start had been effected. After taking statements from the Starter, barrier attendant and Jockey Babarovich and viewing the available footage Stewards were of the opinion that IMA POCKET ROCKET had been denied a fair start and the gelding was declared a non-runner under the provisions of AR 134A. Stewards ordered that all monies invested on IMA POCKET ROCKET be refunded in full and further, that all successful bets for the win be paid less six cents in the dollar on the face value of the betting ticket and that all successful place bets be paid less eight cents in the dollar on the face value of the betting ticket. Race 3: GARY CANNON MEMORIAL OPEN HANDICAP 1000m D. Sparks replaced R. McMahon as the rider of ENCORONADA. YOUR WAY OR MINE - Raced wide for the majority. Jockey T. Brummell was cautioned in relation to his use of the whip prior to the 100m. CRAIGLEA CRUZ - Raced wide rounding the home turn. Race 4: CQ FIELD MINING SERVICES BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP 1200m SCRIPTS - Jumped outwards at the start bumping with another runner. WATTO’S JET – Bumped by another runner on jumping. DREAMWARD BOUND – Raced wide rounding the home turn. INNER SILENCE - Raced wide rounding the home turn. RED CHARMER - Raced wide rounding the home turn. Race 5: CURRY'S DIESEL MAINTENANCE/HYDRAULINK BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1400m SLITHERING SUZIE – As no other rider was available Stewards permitted Jockey J. Esser to ride the mare 2kg over its allotted weight. Jumped outwards at the start bumping with another runner. Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Raced wide for the majority. DIURNAL TIGER – Bumped by another runner on jumping. Raced wide rounding the home turn. SENSEOFWONDER (NZ) - Raced wide in the back straight and rounding the home turn. LAST SIDE – Jockey K.
