The following horses were scratched by order of Stewards at 1200 pm due to no rider being available:

Race 1 – ROUND OAK MINERALS Maiden Plate 1000m
 
VIAHEL - Was a late scratching at 12.55 pm on vets advice when the mare was injured during transportation to the course. Trainer D Smith was advised the mare would require a Veterinary Certificate of fitness prior to its next race start.  
 
WRITER’S BLOCK - Began awkwardly.
 
SHEINDLIN - Bounded in the air as the start was effected. Raced wide throughout.
 
MEXICAN YELL - Raced wide throughout.
 
REASON FOR TREASON - Raced ungenerously rounding the 800m corner and shifted out inconveniencing another runner before being quickly corrected by its rider.
 
GLENCOE GIRL - Inconvenienced by another runner which shifted out passing the 800m.
 
 Race 2 – THE CLONCURRY SHIRE COUNCIL ‘BEAT THE HEAT’ BENCHMARK 50 Handicap 1000m
PLEATED MISS- Was declared a late scratching at 12.15pm when the mare was unable to be loaded onto the horse transport float.
 
TIME FOR US - Was declared a late scratching at 12.00pm after trainer R Hermann advised stewards he did not bring the gelding to the races as he did not believe a rider was available. Due to the distance he was required to travel it was necessary to leave prior to the scratching deadline. Stewards accepted Mr Hermann’s explanation.   
 
BOLLENTE- Shifted wider, passing the 800m and remained wide throughout.
 
DUTCH TWIST- Raced wide throughout.
 
WYCH MAGIC- Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 3 –  ALLFLEX AUSTRALIA Class 3 Plate 1200m
 
The start of the race was delayed when OWENS (R Hancock) broke through the front gates, dislodging its rider, and subsequently collapsed. All other runners were ordered to return to the day stalls whilst OWENS underwent veterinary treatment.OWENS was declared a late scratching at 3:15pm. On the announcement of correct weight, all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded, with the following deductions applicable.
 
10 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets.
10 cents in the dollar on the face value of place bets.
 
Subsequent veterinary examinations following the incident and at the conclusion of the days racing were unable to reveal any abnormalities but did indicate a substantial improvement in the gelding’s wellness. Trainer S. Royes, was advised the gelding would be banned from racing until further consideration had been given to the matter    and an appropriate course of action regarding the geldings racing future had been established. Ms Royes was also advised to inform stewards of any change in the gelding’s condition in the near future.

BRAVE JEWEL - Shifted out and bumped with another runner shortly after jumping.
 
ORTEGA LANE - Shifted in and bumped with another runner shortly after jumping.
 
CAPTAINS PICK - Raced wide throughout
 
MY CRIMSON LAD - Raced wide throughout
 
GOT THE TICKETS - Was inclined to hang-in for a short distance after jumping. Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 4 – JOHN BULLEY & JUDY KEYES MEMORIAL OPEN Handicap 1200m
TRAVEL IN STYLE - Buffeted between runners on jumping.
 
SNIPPY STRATEGIC - Shifted out on jumping making contact with the runner to its outside and became unbalanced.
 
IMAGINALTHEPEOPLE - Shifted in on jumping making contact with the runner to its inside. Raced wide throughout.
 
GOOD JOB BRO - Raced wide throughout 
 
 
Race 5 – BRODIE HARDWARE BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1400m
 
HIDONAL - Knuckled in the hind-quarters on jumping. Raced wide throughout.
 
POINT FORWARD - Bumped with the runner to its inside on jumping. Raced wide throughout.
 
PRINCE OF BARODA - Bumped with the runner to its outside on jumping. Raced wide throughout.
 
TIPSY CHOICE - Shifted wider passing the 800m and remained wide throughout.
