Trailed the field throughout the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off front leg.Trainer R.Hermann was advised a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required before the gelding was again permitted to start in a race. Race 2: WOODHAM PETROLEUM SERVICES Maiden Plate (1200 m ) GOOD TO DREAM- Slow to begin. Tightened by another runner shortly after the start. Raced wide the majority TANTALISING MISS- Slow to begin. Shifted out tightening another runner shortly after start. Raced wide in the early stages. Race 3: RISING SUN HONDA BENCHMARK 65 Handicap (1200 m ) Declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow Stewards to view footage of the start to confirm that MASKING was afforded a fair start. After viewing the patrol footage, it was evident to Stewards that MASKING had been afforded a fair start and correct weight was declared on the judges semaphored numbers. MASKING- Refused to jump as the start was effective as a result took no part in the race. Trainer Miss S Royes was advised the gelding would be required to trail satisfactorily prior to again being permitted to start in a race again.GRAND SYMPHONY-Raced wide majority BOLD SAM- Slow to begin wide home turn SIZZLESUN- On return to scale Jockey T Brummell advised that the gelding was having his first start in area on a dirt surface and, in his opinion, failed to stretch out in the early and middle stages due to the kickback in running. Race 4: BOOTH PASTORAL Class B Handicap (1400 m) UNDER RESTRAINT-Raced wide early. IGNITE THE MAGIC- Raced wide majority. WRITER`S BLOCK- Raced wide from the middle stages. Race 5: BRODIE HARDWARE OPEN Handicap (1400 m) MANDALONG PASS- Slow to begin raced wide for the majority CAPTAIN`S PICK- Raced wide in the early stages. CHARLIE CAT- Slow to begin. Jockey T Hill was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(5) in that he did use his whip in an excessive manner (16 times) throughout the event.
