GENERAL
 
Due to predicted sultry weather conditions, this race meeting was conducted within the provisions of the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission Caring for Racing Animals in Extreme Heat Policy.
 
Race 1: NORTH AUSTRALIAN VETERINARY GROUP QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
 
WHITS END – Dislodged Jockey J Hoopertenroute to the barriers. Quickly apprehended. Underwent a Veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers. Cleared to start.
 
MISHANI DUDE - App D McGillivray who was able to claim only 1kg of his 1.5kg allowance was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR143. Raced wide throughout.
 
ANDAMAN – Slowly into stride.
 
SASSY AURA – Slowly into stride. Restrained off heels passing the 800m. Hung out rounding the home turn. Raced wide for the majority.
 
BELLEOFTHEHUNTER – Raced ungenerously passing the 800m.
 
ELA BEACH - Raced wide throughout.
 
GRANMA - Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 2: BUTLER AGENCIES BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP (1) 1000m
 
CATO – Late withdrawal at 2.11pm on Veterinary advice when found to be lame in the off hind leg. Prior to the declaration of Correct Weight Stewards ordered that all monies wagered on the gelding be refunded in full and further that the following deductions apply to all successful wagers placed on the event prior to the time of scratching:

in the dollar on the face value of the betting ticket. Trainer Mr G Tipping was advised a Veterinary clearance is required prior to next race start.
 
COSTA ROYALE – Reluctant to load. Fractious in the barrier. Slowly away. Trainer Mr K Krogh was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners.           
 
ILLECEBROUS – Raced wide from the 500m.
 
WICKED WILLY – Raced wide for the majority.
 
SCARPA – Raced wide for the majority.
 
Race 3: BRODIE & CO STOCK AND STATION AGENTS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP (2) 1000m
 
ROCKETHEAD – Fractious in the barrier.
 
SIZZLING TOUCH – Slowly away. Raced ungenerously in the middle stages due to the kickback in running. Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
BUON NATALE – Slowly into stride. Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
ALOTAFOX – Raced wide for the majority.
 
MISHANI REBEL – Raced wide for the majority.
 
DIXIE ROUGE – Raced wide for the majority.
 
Race 4: WESTGULF STOCKFEEDS COUNTRY STAMPEDE QUALIFIER OPEN HANDICAP 1000m
 
FULL OF FIRE – Fractious in the barrier. Slowly into stride after beginning awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority.
 
WE’LL BEAT IT – Jockey K Ballard reported the gelding raced ungenerously throughout due to the kickback in running. Shifted in under pressure near the 100m having to be restrained off the heels of another runner which shifted out marginally at that point.
 
WICKED WIKI – Shifted out marginally under pressure near the 100m, resulting in a runner following, which shifted in simultaneously, having to be restrained.
 
MR TINDALL – Raced wide for the majority.
 
WALL STREET TYCOON – A post-race Veterinary examination revealed mild lameness in the off fore leg.
 
Race 5: CENTRAL HOTEL BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1200m
 
DANSK HAVN – Shifted out on jumping.
 
FA FA – Shifted in on jumping. Had to be restrained when racing in restricted room passing the 1000m.
 
NIGHT ATTIRE (NZ) – Tightened between runners on jumping.
 
SEDONA – Slowly away. Raced wide for the majority.
 
YULE MY HERO – Was unable to muster pace in the early stages. Finished off fairly. Raced wide for the majority.
 
DUNNERS – Shifted in when being ridden forward near the 1100m inconveniencing a runner to its inside. Jockey R McMahon was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
 
SOLAR PANEL – Commenced to race ungenerously near the 1100m after being crossed by another runner which was not fully clear.
 
ZEBONET – Raced wide for the majority.
 
CRAIGLEA ALTONA – Raced wide for the majority.
 
Race 6: BENTLEYS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1400m
 
WOTS WONG – Shifted out on jumping inconveniencing a runner to its outside.
 
MISTER HAY ZEE – Inconvenienced on jumping. Unable to maintain touch with the main body of the field throughout. Raced wide for the majority. Performed below market expectations. Jockey J Missen reported the gelding had not travelled comfortably at any stage of the event. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
CHLOE JADE – Raced wide for the majority.
 
DARK ARCHER – Raced wide for the majority.
 
MONICA ROOM – Raced wide for the majority. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery rate. Trainer Ms T Parry was advised a Veterinary clearance is required prior to next race start.
 
HIBIYA (NZ) – Jockey R McMahon reported the gelding raced ungenerously throughout and was never comfortable on today’s surface. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
Race 7: JBS AUSTRALIA COUNTRY CUPS CHALLENGE QUALIFIER/CLONCURRY CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1600m
 
BREAKDANCE (NZ) – Slowly into stride.
 
VAN WINKEL – Slowly into stride. Raced ungenerously in the early stages.
 
CHARLIE CAT – Raced wide in the early stages. Commenced to lose ground passing the 600m.
 
LOUD ENOUGH –  Jockey D Ballard reported the gelding, which was trapped wide throughout after beginning from the outside barrier, had never travelled comfortably at any stage of the event, failing to make any impression over the concluding stages with its heavy impost. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
ALMIGHTY GOLD (NZ) – Raced wide for the majority.
 
QUART POT – Raced wide for the majority.
 
GRAND SYMPHONY – Raced wide for the majority.
 
CINNAMON MISSILE – Stewards intend to interview Jockey S Sheargold in relation to his riding of the gelding over the concluding stages.
