GENERAL
Due to predicted sultry weather conditions, this race meeting was conducted within the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission Caring for Racing Animals in Extreme Heat Policy.
 
 
Race 1: PARAWAY PASTORAL CO BENCHMARK  45 Handicap (1000m)
SEVEN YEAR REWARD – Following the running of this race jockey J Baker was attended to by QAS officers and was stood down from his remaining engagements. He was advised that he will require a medical clearance prior to resuming race riding.
HI ZERO – Raced wide majority.
ARCING HARD – Raced wide middle stages and rounding home turn.
LIZ’S DELIGHT – Laid in approaching the 800m inconveniencing a runner to its inside.
ROCKETHEAD – Momentarily tighten for room approaching the 800m.
 
 
Race 2: GARY CANNON MEMORIAL Maiden Plate (1200m)
TESTARDO - Was withdrawn by order of stewards at 1:05pm due to no rider available to replace J. Baker. As betting on the event had not yet commenced, no deductions were applicable.
LE BERNADIN – Stewards permitted rider D. Ballard to ride the gelding 2 kg overweight as no other rider was available.
OUR DISTRICT – Raced wide majority.
 

Race 3: RICHMOND TURF CLUB Class B Handicap (1200m)
COUNT MICHELIN – Stewards permitted rider D Ballard to ride the gelding ½ kg overweight as no other rider was available.
IRON ONE – Slow into stride. Raced wide majority.
LE WEASEL – Began awkwardly, shifted in bumping another runner.
SANCHEZ – Inclined to lay in near the 1100m inconveniencing another runner. Raced wide majority.
STRETCHING – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
DREAM HALO – Bumped by another runner which shifted in at the start. Momentarily inconvenienced by another runner which laid in near the 1100m.
 
Race 4: MORT & CO QTIS Class 3 Plate (1200m)
MISHANI HURRICANE – Raced wide majority. Rider lost his whip near the 400m.
TOWER ROAD – As the gelding had not started since October 2021. Underwent a pre- race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.
WILD EXPRESS – Restrained off heels near the 800m when began to over race.
ROCKSTAR DREAMS – Raced wide majority.
 
 
Race 5: CURRY’S DIESEL MAINTENANCE OPEN Handicap (1200m)
TEDDY MERCURY – Began awkwardly. raced wide majority.
FAVRA – Raced wide majority.
LOUIE THE LEGEND – Raced wide early.
QUIDNI – Raced wide rounding home turn.
GOLD BRACELET – Began awkwardly. Slow into stride. Jockey I. French was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m
 
Race 6: AUZSCOT CONSTRUCTIONS BENCHMARK 55 Handicap (1400m)
STROKE OF MAGIC – Slow to begin. Raced wide middle stages and rounding home turn.
YUFCALLEDCHARLIE – Raced wide early.
