Chaplin SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT NIL GENERAL Stewards granted permission for the following overweights: Race 2: A.Bakos - +0.5kgRace 2: K. Ballard - +0.5Race 3: D. Ballard - +1.5kgRace 3: J. Baker - +2kgRace 5: J. Baker - +2kg Race 1:JUDY KEYES & JOHN BULLEY MEMORIAL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000m FORTIUS ALTIUS – Began awkwardly and was taken wider by PINK HOUSES. Shortly after the start, was obliged to be restrained off the heels of CRACKLE CAUSE who was improving into a position closer to the inside rail. Hung out rounding the home turn. POSITIVE REWARD – Jockey A. Bakos reported at scale that her mount over-raced early. Over-raced during the early and middle stages of the event. CRACKLE CAUSE – Began awkwardly. Shortly after the start, improved and shifted in, to obtain a position closer to the rail. MILLENIUM FALCON – When questioned regarding the mare’s performance today, jockey J. Babarovich stated that his mount missed the start when it attempted to buck and settled back in the field. He also added that it was the mares first start on dirt and in his opinion, resented the kickback. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities. PINK HOUSES – Shifted out on jumping, taking FORTIUS ALTIUS wider. Race 2: LORRAINE PASTORAL COMPANY OPEN HANDICAP 1000m PRIMAL SCREAM – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after contacting the fence in the mounting enclosure and was cleared to start. Dipped at the start and became momentarily unbalanced. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight. FOR MY ANNIE – In the vicinity of the 800m, was contacted by SCARPA and as a result the geldings hindquarters were turned in and the gelding then became unbalanced for a number of strides. POLICE – Slow into stride. SCARPA – Stewards permitted jockey K. Ballard to ride his mount 0.5kg overweight as there were no other suitable riders available. Jockey K. Ballard was reprimanded pursuant to AR190(3) for accepting a ride when overweight. In the vicinity of the 800m, commenced to lay in and contacted the hindquarters of FOR MY ANNIE. Raced wide without cover over the early and middle stages of today’s event. RACE 3: JOE & PAULINE BAKHASH MEMORIAL CLASS B HANDICAP 1200m SINGLE MALT – Inside the 100m was disappointed for clear running, and as a result was unable to be fully tested to the line. ZOROSSA – Approaching the 1000m, momentarily shifted in and as a result STORMWATER was obliged to be eased. SECRET QUALITY – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. MISS BOSSY – Slow into stride. STORMWATER – Approaching the 1000m was obliged to be eased to avoid the heels of ZOROSSA who shifted in momentarily. GULF OF AQABA – Approaching the 1000m, was obliged to be checked off the heels of STORMWATER who eased when ZOROSSA shifted in momentarily. Jockey A. Bakos was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in future. RACE 4: SPARROW HARRISON MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1200m LOUIE THE LEGEND – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight. SHARPAY RULER – Awkward to begin and as a result was slow into stride. Dipped shortly after the start and momentarily became unbalanced. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. WHISPERING TYCOON – Began awkwardly. Raced wide over the early and middle stages. FAR REACHING – Raced three wide without any cover for the majority. ONTHETAKE – Raced four wide without cover for the majority. Laid in under pressure in the straight. SOUND OF SLEAT – Stewards approved a late gear change to remove a nasal strip. Shifted out on jumping away. RACE 5: CLONCURRY TYRES & BATTERIES BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1400m FLAMING TORCH – Began awkwardly. JAKAZONE – Raced wide without cover during the early and middle stages of the event. BRIDEZILLA – Overraced during the early and middle stages of the event. SNIPPY STRATEGIC – Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. SIZZLESUN – Very slow to begin. Following the running of the last race, jockey J. Baker, the rider of SIZZLESUN reported at scale that his mount had presented to race in a different girth to the one that he had weighed out with. When questioned, trainer R. Hermann stated that he was unaware that he was obliged to inform stewards when changing equipment after a rider has weighed out. As jockey J. Baker was still able to weigh in at his allotted riding weight, trainer R. Herrmann was reprimanded pursuant AR 185 in that he changed the equipment that jockey J.
