GENERAL
Stewards permitted the following overweights:
Race 1. K. Ballard +1.0kg
Race 2. J. Baker +0.5kg
 
Race 1: BULL CREEK BEEF QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000M
 
ADASHAN – Bumped with KEY TO THE ZOU on jumping.

EGALITE – Declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 11:30am. Trainer R. Burow was advised that EGALITE would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start.
 
KEY TO THE ZOU – Shifted in and bumped with ADASHAN on jumping. Hung in shortly after the start despite its riders’ best efforts. When questioned regarding KEY TO THE ZOU’s racing manners, jockey M. Murphy stated that the gelding was inclined to lay in and raced greenly throughout. Laid in for the majority. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.
 
PHILADELPHIA FREE – Raced wide for the majority. Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
POSITIVE REWARD – Raced wide for the majority.
 
REVVED UP READY – Upon returning to scale, jockey J. Hoopert reported that his mount raced greenly throughout the event.
 
BETHEHORSE – Began very awkwardly and shifted out contacting READY AND WAITING. Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
READY AND WAITING – Upon returning to scale, jockey R. Faehr stated that the gelding missed the start. He further added that his mount resented the kickback throughout the event. Contacted ADASHAN on jumping.
 
Race 2: CURRY'S DIESEL & MACHINERY COUNTRY CUPS CHALLENGE QUAL/CLONCURRY CUP OPEN HANDICAP  1600M
 
FACTORY WARRIOR – Raced wide for the majority. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted today, jockey D. Ballard reported that FACTORY WARRIOR’s usual racing pattern is to settle forward, however when asked for an effort approaching the 600m failed to muster any speed and was disappointing. He further added that the gelding’s space between starts may have contributed to today’s overall performance. Stewards noted his explanation and post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.
 
BARRICHELLO – Jockey J. Babarovich reported at scale that his mount resented the kickback when settling behind the field. Inclined to lay in over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.
 
DOOM – Raced wide for the majority.
 
ALBERT THE ROCKET – Upon returning to scale, jockey J. Baker reported that his mount felt uncomfortable in its action over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.
 
 
Race 3: THYNNE + MACARTNEY BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP 1200M
 
The start was delayed 4 minutes due to CRAIGLEA ALTONA having to be resaddled behind the barriers.
 
THECHAMP – As the field was being loaded into the barriers, THECHAMP broke through the barrier gate and was passed fit to start. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Upon reporting to scale, apprentice jockey S. McCann stated that her mount hung out throughout. Approaching the 600m, had to be restrained when ARE WE GOOD clipped heels and became unbalanced.
 
ARE WE GOOD – In the vicinity of the 600m, improved onto and clipped the heels of IRON MASK, severely unbalancing its rider. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.
 
CRAIGLEA ALTONA – Trainer T. Parry was fined $100 pursuant to AR106(1) for presenting her horse to the mounting yard in incorrect gear.
 
SINGLE MALT – Raced wide for the majority.
 
BRIDEZILLA (NZ) – Began awkwardly.  Laid in over the concluding stages.
 
REAL EMPRESS – Raced wide for the majority. Upon returning to scale, jockey R. Faehr reported that his mount missed the start.
 
 
Race 4: BELL RURAL CONTRACTING COUNTRY STAMPEDE QUALIFIER OPEN HANDICAP 1000M
 
PRIMAL SCREAM – On jumping, took hold and shifted out abruptly, severely hampering several runners to its outside. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.
Trainer S. Royes was advised that PRIMAL SCREAM would require a satisfactory official jumpout or trial prior to its next race start.
 
REBEL SALUTE – Shortly after the start, was severely tightened for room when NOT ANOTHER REIBY was taken wider by INVINCIBLE JET, then proceeded to contact THERESABEARINTHERE, subsequently losing its position. Raced wide for the majority.
 
INVINCIBLE JET – On jumping, was taken wider by PRIMAL SCREAM and made heavy contact with NOT ANOTHER REIBY. Laid in under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.
 
THERESABEARINTHERE – Shortly after the start, was contacted on its hind quarters by REBEL SALUTE resulting in the gelding becoming unbalanced momentarily, before being taken out onto SPLASHER. Jockey J. Baker reported at scale that his mount raced in restricted room at the 400m before shifting wider to obtain clear running.
 
COCHRANE – Began awkwardly and then was contacted by SPLASHER who was taken wider on the track by THERESABEARINTHERE.
 
SPLASHER – Shortly after the start, was crowded for room when THERESABEARINTHERE was taken wider on the track. Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
NOT ANOTHER REIBY – Shortly after the start, had to be severely checked and lost its position when INVINCIBLE JET was taken wider on the track by PRIMAL SCREAM.
 
Race 5: BENTLEYS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1400M
 
 
ORCUS – Raced wide for the majority. Apprentice jockey J. Doolan reported at scale that her mount weakened over the concluding stages.
 
JAKAZONE - Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
WHISKEY ROW - Raced wide for the majority. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.
 
DIDN'T ASK ME – Resented kickback in the middle stages of the event and preceded to race ungenerously.
 
KAYTEE REINADO – Upon returning to scale, jockey K. Ballard reported that his mount heavily resented the kickback in the middle stages of the race and became concerned with its action, electing to ease his mount out of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.
 
AMBER ONE – Slow into stride.
 
ONTHETAKE - Raced wide for the majority.
 
SNIPPY STRATEGIC - Raced wide for the majority.
 
SIZZLESUN – As the gelding had raced at Barcaldine on Tuesday the 10th of October, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
Race 6: HAULMARK TRAILERS CLASS 6 HANDICAP 1200M
 
LE FORCE – Inclined to lay in over the concluding stages.
 
FINALLY REALISE – Stood flat-footed at the start and lost considerable ground. Trainer J. Morris was advised the gelding’s nomination would be refused from TAB meetings until its barrier manners improved. A post-race veterinary examination revealed muscle soreness in its hind quarters.
 
MOON OVER ALICE – Shifted out abruptly on jumping contacting EYE SHOOT TO WIN before
being corrected by its rider. Hung out throughout the event. Laid in over the concluding stages. Trainer T. Parry was advised a warning would placed on the mare regarding its racing manners.
 
SHARPAY RULER – Inclined to lay in over the concluding stages.
 
BETTER DAYS AHEAD – Trainer D. Smith was fined $100 pursuant to AR106(1) for presenting his horse to the mounting yard in incorrect gear.
 
EYE SHOOT TO WIN – Shortly after the start was taken onto the heels of DUNNERS, when
MOON OVER ALICE shifted out abruptly.
 
Race 7: MORT & CO BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1000M
 
Race 7 was delayed 6 minutes due to ZOROSSA becoming fractious in the barriers on multiple occasions.
 
LOUIE THE LEGEND – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
BELLEOFTHEHUNTER – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 100m, shifted out to avoid the heels of LOUIE THE LEGEND, who was laying in.
 
ZOROSSA – As the gelding had raced at Barcaldine on Tuesday the 10th of October, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. ZOROSSA was declared a late scratching at 5:24PM after becoming fractious in the barriers for the second occasion. Stewards ordered that all bets on ZOROSSA be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
 
1st SCARPA 23c win, 18c place
2nd PHONDLE 18c place
3rd BELLEOFTHEHUNTER 18c place
 
Trainer R. Hermann was advised that ZOROSSA must now complete 2 consecutive official trials or jumpouts satisfactorily prior to racing again.
 
BOOM KING – Underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection behind the barriers after being kicked by another horse and was passed fit to start.
 
GREAT IAM – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the straight.
 
MILLVALE – Raced wide for the majority.
 
MISS BOUCHARD – Raced wide for the majority.
