Race 1: IRONMONGER SHIPPING Class 3 Plate, 1000 Metres
 
The start of the race was delayed as Stewards were notified that the Judge was still some distance away from the course. Acting on this information Stewards elected to proceed, and, as such, nominated a Club Official to act as judge utilizing manual equipment.
 
The declaration of correct weight was significantly delayed whilst Apprentice H English, rider of BRUTUS, 2nd place getter to view the available image of the finish of the race. After viewing the image Apprentice English agreed with the Judge’s placings and correct weight was declared.
 
KARMA FORCE – Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
BRUTUS – Crowded shortly after the start. Carried out by KARMA FORCE rounding the home turn.
 
PLAYBOOK(NZ) – Shifted in shortly after the start, crowding HOVE ACTUALLY and BRUTUS.

Race 2: ULTON QTIS Maiden Plate, 1000 Metres
 
The start of the race was delayed to await the arrival of Jockey R Oakford, who was a late replacement rider for PRINCESS RACER. The explanation offered by Apprentice H Phillips for having accepted the rides on both MISS NASTY and PRINCESS RACER was accepted.
 
WHENEIM – Shifted in at the start and made contact with PRINCESS RACER.
 
BRIGALOW QUEEN – Raced wide throughout.
 
HUMP DE BUMP – Raced wide throughout.
 
PRINCESS RACER – Was brushed at the start by WHENEIM. Shortly after commenced to buck for a short distance, resulting in its rider, R Oakford being dislodged. Subsequently Mr M Bailey, Trainer of the mare was notified that prior to racing again PRINCESS RACER must trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards.
 
 
Race 3: RAYMENT EXCAVATIONS OPEN Plate, 1000 Metres
 
STELLA’S DREAM – Lost ground at the start after jumping away awkwardly.
 
Shortly after passing the winning post Jockey G Steele rider of PARTY PARDEE was dislodged. Due to Jockey Steele being indisposed an inquiry into this incident was adjourned to a date to be fixed. Jockey Steele will be advised that prior to riding again she must produce a medical clearance.
 
Subsequently the Stewards, along with a deputation of riders, inspected a section of the track beyond the winning post. Upon such inspection it was discovered that a significant hole had developed in the track, approximately 30 metres past the winning post, 2 metres out from the inside running rail.
 
As the track was deemed to be unsafe for the continuance of racing, the Stewards postponed the race meeting at 3.15pm.
