Race 2: U Don’t Need A New Roof/Cape York Communities Bangle Class B Handicap 1000 metres:1st – KAP IT OFF 2nd – DECLAN STYLE 3rd – WILD DIVA 4th – I WANNA BREAK FREE Stewards delayed the declaration of Correct Weight to enable App. E Cass, who rode WILD DIVA, to view patrol footage of the concluding stages of the event in order to determine whether or not she had grounds for an objection against DECLAN STYLE, ridden by App. A Thomson being placed second. After viewing the footage App. Cass elected not to proceed with an objection and Correct Weight was declared on the Judge’s numbers. After considering submissions from Jockey Rockett and Trainer Mr. R Ludwig and viewing head-on patrol footage of the race start, Stewards, although conceding that the outside barrier gate had made minor contact with the near shoulder of WINDMILL LANE, were of the opinion that the gelding, which was slowly into stride, had not been impeded on jumping and that the incident had not materially prejudiced its chances in running.
