Race 1: ARCHER RIVER R’HOUSE+MARRIN P/L-RONNY JACK+MY PATHWAY MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
 
SWORDFISH – Fractious in the barrier.
 
MADEMOISELLE POLLY - Fractious in the barrier.
 
GEORGIE’S DEAL – Slowly away.
 
COOL ATTITUDE – Jockey F Edwards reported that the gelding had raced ungenerously in the middle stages, and would, in his opinion, be better suited at distances longer than that of today’s event.
 
DONT CHEAT CHARLIE – Hung in near the 500m, despite the efforts of Jockey M Kai, hampering another runner. Trainer Mr. J Manzelmann was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.
 
KYRIE ELEISON – Near the 500m lost ground when tightened for room by another runner which hung in.
 
Race 2: COOKTOWN TYREPOWER+GUNGARDE COMMUNITY CENTRE BRACELET QTIS RATINGS BAND 0-60 HANDICAP 1000m
 
AMULETO - Slowly into stride.
 
Race 3: COOKTOWN HARDWARE+COOKTOWN RSL MEMORIAL CLUB OPEN HANDICAP 1290m
 
GINGERSNAP – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
 
BON TEMPS - Bumped with another runner on jumping.
 
SABA LASS – Restrained off heels near the 700m.
 
Race 4: COOKTOWN FOOD&ICE SERVICES+MUSGRAVE R’HOUSE+SEAVIEW MOTEL CLASS B HANDICAP 1290m
 
LITTLE GUN – Slowly into stride after making contact with the front barrier gate on jumping.
 
LOLLIPOP ROCKET – App. Ms. A Thomson advised, that in her opinion, the filly would be better suited on a more spacious circuit and at distances longer than that of today’s event.
 
Race 5: BRACKENHURST CONTRACTING+POISON CREEK STATION+CAPE YORK NEWS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1400m
 
OUR SINGLE DOUBT – Shifted in under pressure near the 150m crowding BACKTOSPEC (App. Ms. R Shred) which had to be restrained. App. Ms. A Thomson was severely reprimanded for careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a).
 
Race 6: COOKTOWN BOWLS CLUB COOKTOWN CUP BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1700m
 
FRISKIER was a late withdrawal at  5.10pm by order of Stewards after being inspected by the  Veterinarian and found to be lame in the near foreleg. Prior to the declaration of Correct Weight Stewards ordered that all monies wagered on FRISKIER be refunded in full and further that all successful wagers placed on the event be subject to deductions of 12 cents in the dollar win and 14 cents in the dollar place on the face value of the betting ticket. Trainer Mr. J Manzelmann was advised that a Veterinary clearance would be required prior to the gelding being permitted to again start in a race.
 
HUNTER CAULFIELD – Shifted out soon after jumping and bumped with another runner. Shifted out under pressure near the 100m inconveniencing THE GREATEST (App. Ms. A Ross). App. Ms. R Shred was severely reprimanded for careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a).
