Race 1: TJS Cleaning Services Class B Handicap 1250m
1st: Alexander Parade 2nd: Unicaleo 3rd: Sassy 4th: Dragon Keeper

Stewards allowed jockey S Pawsey to ride CORDITE 0.5kg over its declared weight as no other rider was available. Stewards accepted the explanation from jockey Pawsey regarding being overweight.

ALEXANDER PARADE [I Toward] and SASSY [B Swaffer] bumped at the start.

Near the 900m, SO DOTTI [M Atkinson] had to be eased when racing in restricted room.

DRAGON KEEPER [K Stone] raced wide throughout.

UNICALEO [N Bin Yadi] raced wide rounding the home turn.

Stewards questioned jockeys K Stone, S Pawsey and M Atkinson regarding an incident at approximately the 150m mark, where SO DOTTI [M Atkinson] had to be severely checked when tightened for room between CORDITE [S Pawsey] and DRAGON KEEPER [K Stone]. Jockey K Stone pleaded guilty to a charge under AR137a, in that whilst riding DRAGON KEEPER along, he shifted in when insufficiently clear of SO DOTTI, which had to be severely checked as a result. After taking into account jockey Stone’s good record and submissions to penalty, his licence to ride in races was suspended commencing midnight Saturday 10th November 2012 and to expire at midnight Saturday 17th November 2012 (2NQ meetings).

UNICALEO [N Bin Yadi] laid in under pressure in the home straight.

Race 2: Fowlers Group Harry Hillier Memorial Class 4 Handicap 1250m
1st: Genaperu 2nd: Go Amigo 3rd: Midnite Raid 4th: Prowler

MIDNITE RAID [S Pawsey] was slow into stride.

MIDNITE RAID [S Pawsey] was disappointed for a run approaching the home turn and again at the 100m mark.

Jockey B Swaffer reported that GO AMIGO wanted to lay in under pressure in the straight and pulled up with an abnormal respiratory noise.

Race 3: Cellarbrations Maiden Plate 960m
1st: Zip ‘n’ Zizz 2nd: La Lionesse 3rd: Let’s Pocket 4th: Dadon

The declaration of correct weight was delayed while the connections of LA LIONESSE viewed the film with the view of a protest. After viewing the film jockey B Swaffer and connections declined to proceed with a protest.

ELAINE’S REWARD [M Atkinson] hung out rounding the home turn.

LET’S POCKET [R Ryan] hung out rounding the home turn and bumped LA LIONESSE [B Swaffer].

Race 4: Bugeja Earthmoving Class 2 Handicap 960m
1st: Fortrus Lad 2nd: Call A Cab 3rd: Vaulting Queen 4th: Red For Go

TEMPESTUOUS and MONASHEE SUCCESS were declared late scratching at 11:00am due to no rider being available.

Jockey S Pawsey was permitted to ride PLAY A KING 1kg overweight when no other jockey was available.

Upon jumping, CALL A CAB [M Atkinson] jumped outwards and FORTRUS LAD [I Toward] jumped inwards which caused VAULTING QUEEN [N Bin Yadi], VILLAGE COMMAND [R Ryan] and PLAY A KING [S Pawsey] to be tightened.

CALL A CAB [M Atkinson] was held up for a run from the 600m until just after entering the home straight.

Race 5: Cairns Steel Open Handicap 960m
1st: Fred The Legion 2nd: Canhedance 3rd: Morossa 4th: Physics

Prior to the gates opening, the tongue tie on FRED THE LEGION [N Bin Yadi] came undone and subsequently the gelding raced without that gear. Trainer F Wieland was told to advise his apprentice that in future he is to report such events to the starter prior to jumping to ensure the horse races in its approved gear.

PHYSICS [B Swaffer] reared at the start.

A post race veterinary examination of MISS RUBINSTEIN revealed the mare to have been galloped on.

ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED
