GENERAL:
 
Trainer F. Wieland pleaded guilty to a charge under LR43 in that he allowed an unlicensed person to perform duties in his stable area on Saturday 26 November. Mr Wieland was fined the sum of $200.00.
 
Race 1: THE LAW OFFICE CAIRNS QTIS 3YO  MAIDEN H’CAP – 870M
 
MAC ME MATE – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Lost off front plate during running.
 
REALLY ROCKETS – Slow to begin. Shifted in brushing running rail near 550m and became unbalanced. Disappointed for a run to the inside of ALPINE MAGIC near the 200m and was steadied. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding which was displaying irregular respiratory noises during the race revealed no abnormalities.
 
HIDDEN IN HEAVEN – Slow to begin. Over-raced middle stages and restrained from heels.
 
WATCH ME DAZZLE – Began awkwardly, shifted out bumping another runner.
 
KENSINGTON STAR – Bumped by another runner at the start.
 
Race 2:  ROWE RACING BENCHMARK 50 H'CAP – 870M
 
JAY VENTURE – Blundered badly on jumping and lost ground. Raced wide throughout.
 
HILL DAGONDA – Began awkwardly and shifted in bumping another runner. Raced in restricted room for a short distance shortly after the start to the inside of BOOM BOX which shifted in.
 
TERRASAURUS – Bumped by another runner on jumping.
 
TELEPHOTO – Became unbalanced leaving the 600m and raced ungenerously for a short distance.
 
KAP IT OFF – Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
POSSIBLE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
TOXICITY – Raced wide with no cover for the majority of the race.
 

Race 3: TUFF TYRES FNQ MAIDEN H'CAP – 1250M
 
ZEDAHEEL – Fractious in barriers, bounded in air as start effected and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
ROTHE AND ROLL – Began awkwardly.
 
NINECARATGOLD – Slow to begin. Dislodged rider K. Rocket, on returning to scale. K. Rocket declared himself free of injury and fit to fulfil further engagements.
 
TYPHOON PARADISE – Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover.
 
WILD AZ WILL – Raced ungenerously near 1000m.
 
WHO’S A STAR – Raced ungenerously near the 1000m.
 
 
Race 4: BILLY COOK MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 60 H’CAP – 1250M
 
ISLAND BAR – Slow to begin.
 
CAMPANULA – Slow to begin.
 
GIVE ME TIME – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
KATTER – Raced three wide without cover.  
 
Race 5: JACK WILSON MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 55 H'CAP – 1400M
 
Stewards granted G. Kliese, rider of DEVESTATING RHYTHM, permission to ride that gelding 1kg over its allotted weight as no other rider was available.   
 
DEE MINISHING – Slow to begin.
 
DEVASTATING RHYTHM – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Raced wide in the early stages. Momentarily inconvenienced near the 300m when crowded for room by FLYING ONE MORE which shifted in. S. Wilson was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
 
CENTREHALF FORWARD – Slow to begin, clipped heels and blundered when crowded for room.   

HOTEL SPLENDIDO – Shifted out to improve leaving 800M and then commenced to hang out for the remainder of the race. Forced wider by FLYING ONE MORE which shifted out to improve near the 350m. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.   
 
Race 6: CAIRNS COLONIAL CLUB RESORT OPEN H'CAP – 1400M
 
STANDFORD –  Lunged forward when placed in the barrier striking its head, was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Slow into stride.
 
BOOM SHA LA – Raced in restricted room and was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of LIL’ RED MONKEY which shifted in rounding the first turn near the 1100m.         BOOM SHA LA was further inconvenienced when MIATA which was racing outside that mare also shifted in. Both S. Kaya (LIL’ RED MONKEY) and S. Wilson (MIATA) were advised to show greater care and allow more room in similar circumstances in particular when racing on tight turning circuits.
 
FOREST WAY – Shifted wider leaving the 900m to improve forward and raced wide from that point.
