GENERAL
As P Romeo was unable to attend today’s race meeting due to personal reasons replacements were made as per Race Day Summary.
Trainer S Potiris was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of LR67 for late notification of replacement riders on Irish Heart in Race 2 and Shunter in Race 7.
Race 1 – TAB QTIS TWO-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 950m
Twurkenitup – Extremely fractious in the barrier. Slowly away after beginning awkwardly. On returning to scale Jockey R Payne together with Trainer’s Representative G Horner made application to have the filly declared a non-runner due to being impeded by a Barrier Attendant who was holding the filly’s head as the start was effected. After hearing submissions from connections and Starter Mr P Kennedy and viewing head-on footage of the start Stewards denied the application and declared correct weight on the Judge’s numbers.
Zulu Reign – Made the 550m turn awkwardly shifting out inconveniencing another runner. Shifted out again near the 400m bumping with the same runner.
Botox Lady – Was inconvenienced near the 550m and again near the 400m by another runner which made both turns awkwardly.
Robig – Raced wide for the majority.
Soneymar Star – Raced greenly in the home straight.
Race 2 – MARK DODGE MOTORING BENCHMARK 69 HANDICAP 1400m
Irish Heart- Slowly into stride.
Cousin Muscles- Crossed another runner when not fully clear near the 1100m. App. E Cass was severely reprimanded for carelss riding AR131(a).
Rangerzane- Had to be restrained near the 1100m when crossed by antoher runner which was not fully clear.
River boy- Over-raced in the early stages. Raced wide for the majority.
 
While we can- Raced wide from the 800m.

Race 3 – HOSPITALITY LAUNDRY SERVICES CLASS 6 PLATE 950m
 
Magnitude Lad- Slowly away.
Starena- Laid in down the running.
Bachelors Art- When questioned into the performance of the gelding which raced below market expectations Jockey W D’Avila advised that he may have erred in attempting to maintain touch with the leader Oriental Girl in the first half of the race resulting in Bachelors Art being unable to finish off strongly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery rate. A post-race sample was obtained from the gelding and will be sent for analysis.
Race 4 – CAIRNS SUNLAND LEISURE PARK CLASS 3 HANDICAP 950m
Van Gaal - Slowly away. When searching for clear running near the 100m shifted in hampering another runner. Shifted in again approaching the winning post inconveniencing a runner to its inside. App. E Cass was severely reprimanded for careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a).
Purple Grey- Raced wide without cover for the majority. Laid in under pressure down the running.
Our Danny Boy- Raced wide for the majority.
Ser Ser Schon- Hampered near the 100m by another runner which shifted in.
Magic Desert Moon- Inconvenienced approaching the winning post by another runner which shifted in.
Race 5 – ORRCON STEEL QTIS JEWEL QUALIFIER THREE-YEARS-OLD PLATE 1250m
Kodai- Raced ungenerously passing the 1000m. Raced wide from the 800m.
Boss Baby- Raced ungenerously passing the 1000m. Hung out for the majority. Jockey L Dillon was fined the sum of $1000 for excessive use of the whip priot to the 100m (10 times) under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii). In determining penalty Stewards took into account Jockey Dillon’s extremely poor record in relation to the rule.
Flying Sara- Steadied off heels near the 1000m.
Whitterick- Laid in under pressure down the running.
Kwikilla- The filly, which raced disappointingly, underwent a post race Veterinary examination which failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Race 6 – FUTURE COMPUTERS BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1250m
The start of this race was delayed whilst Stewards ensures that the course proper was clear of wallabies.
Speed Eight- Slowly away.
Soluminate- Slowly away.
High Dive- Slowly away.
 
Strong Will - After jumping well was restrained soon after by Jockey C Jokic, who when questioned advised her instructions were to ride the mare conservatively sa it had not been finishing off its races when ridden in a prominent position in recent starts. Trainer Mr G Porter was reminded of his obligations under AR100 to notify Stewards of any change in riding instructions not later than 30 minutes prior to the race.
 
Race 7 - STUDIO H BY HELEN RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP 1400m
 
Hillier- Jockey F Edwards was fined the sum of $200 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii).
 
Style Line- Reluctant to load. Stood flat footed as the start was effected losing some ground. Trainer  K Mearns is to be advised a warning will be placed on the mare’s barrier manners.
 
Party Pies- Very fractious in the barrier, rearing on a number of occassions. Trainer  S Cooper is to be advised a warning will be placed n the geldings barrier manners.
 
Shunter - Shifted out abruptly on jumping.
 
Freds Gift- Shifted out on jumping hampering a runner to its outside.
 
Gouldian- Hampered by another runner on jumping loosing ground.
 
Diamozu- Shifted in on jumping hampering a runner to its inside.
 
Hot Top- Hampered by another runner on jumping losing ground. Raced wide for the majority. App. E Cass was fined the sum of $100 for excessive whip use prior to the 100m under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii).
