ENDORSE – Made the 1000m turn awkwardly. CLEAVER GREENE – Stewards interviewed Jockey F. Edwards in relation to his riding of the gelding in the home straight. Jockey Edwards explained that soon after straightening he attempted to improve into a rails run to the inside of the leader ENDORSE (C Whiteley) and soon after CLEAVER GREENE commenced to lay in. Jockey Edwards further stated that although there was an option available to shift out into clear running he had elected not to pursue it as in his opinion ENDORSE was always travelling better than CLEAVER GREENE as evidenced by the fact that Jockey Edwards had never stopped riding for the length of the home straight. As Stewards acknowledged that CLEAVER GREENE did have a tendency to lay in and were also of the opinion that Jockey Edwards’ decision to continue to persist with the rails run had no material effect on the race result no further action was taken.
