SmithGENERALJockey P Cullen who was injured at Townsville on August 14 2020 was replaced as per Stewards Race Day Summary.Jockey F Edwards who was placed on restricted duties, was, under medical advice, permitted to fulfil 2 riding engagements at today’s race meeting and will require a further medical clearance prior to resuming full duties. Replacement riders were engaged for Jockey Edwards’ remaining 3 rides as per Stewards Race Day Summary.Race 1. UNDERWOOD PARTY HIRE MAIDEN HANDICAP (2) 1250mGAME OF CIRCLES- As jockey S Wilson was late to arrive on course due to transport difficulties Jockey G Watson was replaced as the rider of the mare. COLONEL PENAGA- Slow to begin. Raced ungenerously in the early stages. On returning to the mounting yard was found to have bled from both nostrils in running. As this was the first such occasion Trainer C Jokic was advised that the gelding would incur a 3 month ban from racing and be required to under go a 1000m gallop in the presence of a Steward prior to again being permitted to start in a race. LIGHT FIELD- Slow to begin. Inconvenienced near the 300m by a runner to its inside which shifted out. SMOKIN’ TOMMY- Bumped with another runner on jumping. Raced wide the majority.AMELIA’S RAINBOW- Raced wide the majority.UPTOWN TOFF- Raced wide the majority.DIVINE MELODY- Shifted out near the 300m inconveniencing another runner. EXCLUSIVE MO- Bumped with another runner on jumping. Raced wide majority. On returning to scales Jockey R Wiggins advised the gelding felt off in its action and did not stretch out properly throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off front fetlock. Trainer P Rowe was advised the gelding would require a veterinary clearance prior to again being permitted to start in a race. Due to a technical issue the placings in this race were determined without the aid of a photo finish camera. The problem was rectified prior to the running of race 2. Race 2. FNQ BIG SCREENS MAIDEN HANDICAP (1) 1250mApp E Cass who was to be overweight was replaced by App C Bayliss as the rider of GREYSERENE. App Cass was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR190(3).SUPER DANCER- Inconvenienced approaching the Winning post. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. FLASH FOX- Hung out rounding the home turn. GREYSERENE- Tightened between runners soon after the start. Raced very ungenerously throughout. Trainer F Wieland was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings racing manners. BULLSWOOL- Bumped with another runner on jumping. FLUTTERING- Slowly away after bumping with another runner on jumping. Shifted in under pressure approaching the winning post inconveniencing another runner. App M Potgieter was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Raced wide the majority. FURE- Raced wide the majority.CRAIGLEA RAFFERTY- Raced wide the majority. Declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow Jockey P Romeo, rider of joint 3rd place getter FLASH FOX, to view the photo finish. After viewing the official photo Jockey Romeo was satisfied with the result and correct weight was declared on the judges semaphored numbers. Race 3. CORAL COAST CATERING QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD HANDICAP 1250mROBIG- Restrained early in an effort to obtain a position closer to the inside running rail. Raced three (3) wide no cover from the 800m. On return to scale Jockey D’Avila advised he dropped his whip passing the 100m. Jockey D’Avila was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR132(6)(ii) in that he did raise his whip arm above shoulder height. CLEVER HUNTER- Restrained early in an effort to obtain a position closer to the inside running rail.GOODBYE EARL- Commenced to race ungenerously passing the 1000m. Raced wide in the early stages. Race 4. ROB KOCH MEMORIAL CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1250mHASTY HEART- Reared as the start was effected losing significant ground and subsequently took no competitive part in the race. Trainer R Miller was advised the gelding would be required to trial satisfactorily prior to again being permitted to start in a race. MONKEY MAGIC- Jockey N Day, whom, due to a misunderstanding, was engaged to ride MONKEY MAGIC was replaced by App C Bayliss. Laid in momentarily approaching the 900m placing runners to its inside in restricted room. App C Bayliss was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Inclined to hang in under pressure down the running. Raced wide the majority. RULER- Slow to begin. Steadied off the heels of another runner which checked approaching the 500m. LICKETY LACHIE- Inconvenienced passing the 900m by a runner to its outside which was inclined to lay in. Shifted in marginally approaching the 500m bumping with another runner which shifted out. FIRERISE- Improved onto the heels of another runner, which was racing ungenerously passing the 900m, having to be restrained as a result. Shifted out marginally approaching the 500m, bumping with another runner, became unbalanced and checked as a result. DELUXE ROCKER- Inclined to race ungenerously passing the 900m. Jockey C Whiteley was reminded of his obligations under the provisions or AR132(6)(ii) to ensure his whip arm does not go above shoulder height. Race 5. ORLIFT CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1400mVAN GAAL- Slow to begin. LANSALA- Commenced to race ungenerously after being crossed by runners to its outside in the early stages. MOSS THE BOSS- Raced ungenerously rounding the 900m turn. ISILMO- Rounded the 900m turn awkwardly and shifted out bumping with another runner. Obliged to steady and shift in to avoid the heels of another runner which was taken wider, before again having to be steadied and shift out to obtain clear running when a runner to the inside shifted out to obtain clear running. BATTLE CRY- Held up momentarily on entering the home straight before shifting wider to obtain clearing running approaching the 200m and in doing so bumped with HIGH BEAM which was taken wider inconveniencing ISILMO. App M Potgieter was reminded of his obligations and advised to exercise greater care in future. BORELLA- Bumped by another passing the 900m. Raced wide the majority. Race 6. COOPER RACING CLASS 2 PLATE 950mCLEAR THE BILL- Obliged to steady and change course passing the 400m to avoid the heels of another runner which was being restrained and shifted in. Raced wide the majority. Performed below market expectations. Jockey F Edwards advised that, in his opinion, the horse did not handle the track conditions, being a tighter circuit than the horse is accustomed to, and subsequently failed to let down as expected. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. SPEED EIGHT- Bumped with another runner on jumping. Obliged to restrain off the heels of SYLVESTER (M Abe), which shifted in marginally, when persevering for a doubtful run passing the 50m. Jockey Abe was reprimanded as a result of this incident. SYLVESTER- Shifted out on jumping. MISSION ROAD- Slow away. Bumped with another runner on jumping. GOLDEN CHARLES- Dislodged a bubble cheeker on jumping and consequently raced without that piece of gear. Slow to begin. After improving onto heels approaching the 500m was obliged to restrain and shifted in hampering another runner. SERBELLONI- Raced wide the majority. THE FRONTIER- Began awkwardly. Raced wide the majority. CADENCE- Restrained off the heels and obliged to change course after improving onto the heels of another runner which was being restrained approaching the 500m. JACK DERIPPA- Raced wide the majority. Race 7. EZY TAX ONLINE BENCHMARK 75 HANDICAP 950mBOLD TYPE- After being fractious and making contact with a gate post when moving onto the track underwent a pre-race veterinary examination behind the barriers and was passed fit to start. Inclined to race ungenerously in the early and middle stages. Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running, crowding another runner near the winning post. Jockey C Whiteley was reminded of his obligations under the provisions of AR131(a).ORIENTAL GIRL- Bumped with another runner soon after jumping. Raced wide the majority. SPARKLY STAR- Bumped with another runner soon after jumping. Obliged to ease approaching the winning post when crowded by a runner to its outside which shifted in. PERFCT KNOWLEDGE- Restrained in the early stages in an effort to obtain cover and a position closer to the inside running rail. EXCEEDINGLY COOL- Raced wide the majority. STARENA- Raced wide the majority. Race 8. F J WIELAND RACING BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP 1900mIM NOT SURE- Began awkwardly.THE FOX EFFECT- Began very awkwardly. ROCCO- Raced wide early. Shifted wider passing the 1200m in an effort to improve and obtain a position nearer the inside running rail. BUXTON- Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running. HOT SAGA- Raced wide throughout.RUBY RED SOCKS- Momentarily steadied after improving onto heels approaching the 1400m turn. Raced wide the majority. NORTH AFRIKA- On returning to scale Jockey R Wiggins advised that, in his opinion, the gelding was not entirely comfortable on the tight circuit and is better suited to a roomier track. Race 9. CSF INDUSTRIES OPEN HANDICAP 1250mLORD ARCHER- Bumped with another runner soon after jumping before shifting in and bumping with a further runner. DREAM I CAN- Knuckled soon after jumping before bumping with another runner which shifted in soon after jumping. Raced awkwardly rounding the 900m corner. CEDARWOOD- Bumped with another runner soon after jumping. Momentarily steadied to avoid the heels of another runner which shifted in after bumping with another runner. Bumped with another runner rounding the 400m turn. LABRUSCO- Bumped with another runner soon after jumping and shifted in inconveniencing another runner. Bumped with another runner rounding the 400m turn. SWORD OF JUSTICE- Bumped with another runner soon after jumping. DESERT COWBOY- Shifted out on jumping tightening another runner. DIVINE SERVICE- Buffeted between runners on jumping after being marginally slowly away. Raced wide the majority. LOVE IS BLIND- Shifted in on jumping tightening another runner. Raced wide the majority. Race 10. ROWE RACING RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP 1250mFLYING MAGIC- Slowly away after beginning awkwardly. Inclined to race ungenerously in the early stages and raced in restricted room passing the 900m. YALANJI- Shifted out on jumping tightening another runner. SHE’S NIC’N OFF- Buffeted between runners on jumping after being marginally slowly away. REAGAN- Shifted in on jumping tightening another runner. Raced ungenerously in the early stages.EL OF A SAGA- Began awkwardly. CALCULUS- Momentarily tightening on jumping. Approaching the 1000m when being restrained, in an effort to obtain cover, commenced to over-race and continued to do so until being placed in restricted room when obliged to restrain further approaching the 400m turn.FORGIATO- Inconvenienced on jumping.
