GENERAL:

Due to road conditions and flooding riders Ms C. Jokic, Ms B. Thomson, F. Edwards and S. Sheargold where unable to attend todays meeting and were replaced as per stewards summary, also as a result the following horses were also declared late scratching’s by order of stewards: Beautiful Tune – 8.34am, Our Recipe – 8.41am, Tell Everybody – 8.34am, Academy Hill – 9.50am, Sassi Assassin – 8.34am

Race 1: STAR 102.7 & 4CA QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP – 950 Metres

BOOMED – Jumped inwards at the start bumping with FOX WARRIOR.

FOX WARRIOR – Jumped outwards at the start bumping with BOOMED. Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight and shifted wider.

RUSTIC ROCKER – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have superficial speedy cuts to its near hind lower leg.


Race 2: GARY RICHES PTY LTD BUILDERS RATINGS BAND 0 - 65 HANDICAP – 950 Metres

LIMERICK MOON – Slow to begin.

IBINI – As jockey B. Pengelly was delayed in transit to the racecourse he was replaced by W. D’Avila. Slow to begin.

FRENCH FIZZ – Shifted in under pressure near the 200 metres hampering INSTITUSION. Rider E. Cass was advised show greater care in similar circumstances.

INSTITUTION – Momentarily steadied near the 200 metres when hampered by FRENCH FIZZ which shifted in under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to lame in the off front fetlock. Trainer S. D’Avila was advised she must provide a veterinary clearance prior to the horse trialling or racing again.

Race 3: RED ROOSTER MT SHERIDAN & RAINTREES OPEN HANDICAP – 950 Metres

POLAR BLAST – Over-raced in middle stages.

HARD YAGA – Rider S. Wilson pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR132(5) in that he used his whip in an excessive manner by striking the gelding 16 times which is two more times than is permitted. Jockey Wilson was fined the sum of $400.00.

Race 4: CURRENCY SERVICES FOREIGN EXCHANGE BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP – 950 Metres

GALAXY GHOST – Began awkwardly.

PURRFECTIONIST – Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by connections for the late declaration of App E. Cass as the rider. Trainer M. Dale advised stewards prior to the running of the race that instructions would be issued to ride the gelding in a hands and heels fashion. This was broadcast via media outlets. Lost its near front plate during running.

Race 5: TAB VENUE MODE QTIS JEWEL QUALIFIER 3-Y-O PLATE – 1250 Metres

MYSTERY 'N' MAGIC – Bumped on jumping becoming momentarily unbalanced.

TENNESSEE BOY – Bumped at the start and in turn shifted out bumping MYSTERY ‘N’ MAGIC when racing in restricted room. Following the running of this race rider B. Pengelly was stood down by QLD Ambulance paramedics for the remainder of the day. B. Pengelly was advised he must provide a medical clearance before his next race ride.

APOLLINE – Began awkwardly and shifted out bumping TENNESEE BOY.

BELLE ADELE – Slow to begin. Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race.

Race 6: CLARKE TRENCHING MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1250 Metres

BREAK ON THROUGH – Began awkwardly.

JIMMY WITHA DASH – Began awkwardly causing rider C. Whiteley to lose the use of his off-side iron for a short distance after the start.

BOTOX LADY – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

Race 7: COOPER RACING BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP – 1250 Metres

SHUNTER – Slow to begin.

NICE RETORT – Began awkwardly.

HIGH DIVE – As rider B. Pengelly was stood down due to illness, stewards granted permission for dual licensed trainer/jockey S. Wilson to replace him when no other rider was available.

LET'S CONQUER – Fractious in barriers prior to the start and lost ground.

AT DUSK – Bounded in the air as the start was effected.

AMELIA'S RAINBOW – Had its head turned to the near side on jumping and began awkwardly.

FIREFIGHT – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

CLOUT – App Jockey E. Cass pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that she used her whip on 7 occassions prior to the 100 metres which is two more times than is permitted. Apprentice Cass was fined the sum of $300.00.
