Cairns 19/03/2021 – Race 7 BKN BATTERY SPECIALTIES RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP – 1250 Metres

Subsequent to the race, stewards questioned trainer C. Spry into the performance of PHILANTHROPIST. Mr Spry advised stewards that he was disappointed with its performance and could only attribute the step up in distance and the long float trip may not have
been beneficial to the gelding on the day. He further advised rider N. Day, had reported to himself following the race that PHILANTHROPIST became unbalanced leaving the 1000 metres and never travelled comfortably following that. Mr Spry added
the gelding had done well since returning to its stable and that the horse will be closely monitored going forward.

carried out in this area, and the safety of the course.
