Kennedy SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT Race 5 - Magic Millions /Rob Koch Memorial/FNQ Up & Coming Stayers B.M 60 H'Cap - 1900 Metres WHITTERICK – (Laid in for the majority of the race proving difficult to ride) Stable Foreman subsequently reported the gelding had returned to its stable base and appeared well in the following days. Mr Ryan further advised the gelding would be having horse dentistry along with farrier treatment prior to its next race start. GENERAL Race 1: KERBING N.Q. PTY LTD QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1250 metres COKUM GIFT – Slow to begin. STIFLING – Bumped on jumping. PRINCESS GLEE – Bumped on jumping. YOU DREAMT WHAT – Bumped on jumping and in turn shifted out bumping PRINCESS GLEE. Forced wider in the home straight by QUARTER PAST which laid out under pressure. SAUNDERS SUN – Shifted out at the start bumping YOU DREAMT WHAT. BOLD ARCHER – Began awkwardly and shifted in bumping STIFLING. QUARTER PAST – Laid out under pressure in the home straight proving difficult to ride and forcing another runner wider. Rider N. Day was advised show greater care and make an effort to straighten his mounts when shifting ground. Connections were advised a warning would be placed on the fillies racing manners. Race 2: ORRCON STEEL OPEN Handicap 1400 metres SALESMAN – Raced fiercely for some distance when being restrained in the early stages. Improved onto heels near the 900 metres forcing ROCK SPUR wider. LUSHAN – Over-raced in the early stages. DUNATUN – Rider C. Whiteley was cautioned in regards to his whip action above his shoulder. ROCK SPUR – Forced wider for a short distance leaving the 900 metres. Race 3: TOLLY SIGNS BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1500 metres SONEYMAR STAR – Delayed the start when refused to load and was subsequently declared a late scratching scratching at 2.23pm. All monies invested on SONEYMAR STAR were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 2.23pm: 58 cents in the dollar for the win VAN GAAL 38 cents in the dollar for the place of winner VAN GAAL38 cents in the dollar for 2nd place SOLDATI HIGH ADVICE – Slow to begin. Race 4: 1300 RIDE SHARE PTY LTD Class 6 Handicap 950 metres DELUXE ROCKER – Trainer S. Massingham advised stewards instructions would be issued to ride the gelding in a midfield position from its wide barrier if circumstances permit. This was advised through media outlets. Raced accordingly. Hampered near the 500 metres and steadied off heels. TAWHIRI – Bounded in the air as the start was effected and lost ground. Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race. ROTHMAN – Over-raced in the middle stages, shifted out slightly near the 500 metres inconveniencing SOLOMON.SOLOMON – Raced in restricted room leaving the 700 metres between ROTHMAN and BET ON LOVE and was tightened for room and steadied near the 500 metres when ROTHMAN shifted out slightly on the point of the turn. Race 5: NORTHERN BEACHES IRRIGATION Maiden Handicap 950 metres SUMMER OF GLORY – Was declared a late scratching at 1.29pm by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice after becoming fractious in the tie-up stalls prior to the race. ALPHA BLUE – Slow to begin. DANGER ONE – As jockey F. Edwards was not attending today’s meeting, he was replaced by J. Felix. Began awkwardly. BETTER THAN THAT – Difficulties obtaining clear running over the concluding stages and went to the line without being fully tested. SUPER ROSE – Raced wide for the majority of the race. DEECATH – Raced wide for the majority of the race. MAMMA DON'T DANCE – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 6: HPS CONTRACTORS Class 2 Handicap 1250 metres TOFF ROCKS – Made contact with the running rail entering the track, was examined by the veterinary surgeon upon arrival at the barriers and cleared to start. Raced wide for the majority of the race. OUR HOT DATE – Slow to begin. Steadied leaving the 500 metres when placed in restricted room. TEMPO (NZ) – Slow to begin. TAIKUN WARRIOR – Shifted out leaving the 500 metres placing OUR HOT DATE in restricted room. Rider C. Whiteley was advised to show greater care. VARSITY – As the gelding was also engaged in Race 8 on today’s program, trainer L. McCormack was reprimanded under the provisions of LR36(6) in that she failed to scratch VARSITY from that race by the prescribed time. Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 7: DREAM HORSE NOW SHOWING EVENT CINEMAS Class 2 Handicap 1250 metres Correct weight was delayed to allow the rider of second placegetter B. Thomson (STRIKE A BEAU) to view the patrol film to ascertain if she had grounds to lodge an objection against the winner COLLOMBATTI (W. D’Avila) alleging interference near the 700 metres. After viewing the footage Ms Thomson declined to proceed and correct weight was declared on the judge’s numbers. SHE'S NIC'N OFF – Slow to begin. URBAN MYTH – Slow to begin. FLUTTERING – Began awkwardly and in brushing STRIKE A BEAU. VULPES – Began awkwardly. STRIKE A BEAU – Over-raced in the early stages. Bumped and forced wider leaving the 700 metres by COLLOMBATTI which was racing fiercely. VALIDAR – Raced wide in the early stages.COLLOMBATTI – Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages and shifted out near the 700 metres despite the efforts of its rider forcing STRIKE A BEAU wider. Raced wide from that point onwards. Raced ungenerously in the home straight. Trainer M. McGuire was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings racing manners. WILD CHOICE – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a poor post-race recovery. Trainer A. Bailey was advised a veterinary clearance is required prior to the gelding’s next start. Race 8: FNQ VENDING RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 950 metres TOFF ROCKS – Declared a late scratching at 12.40pm by order of stewards as the gelding was engaged in Race 6 on today’s program. Trainer A. Patterson was reprimanded under the provisions of LR36(6) in that he failed to scratch TOFF ROCKS by the prescribed time. WOOHOO GIRL – Underwent a veterinary examination upon arrival at the barriers and was cleared to start cleared to start. Slow to begin. Shifted out shortly after the start despite the rider’s efforts inconveniencing JOHN BOOKE. JOHN BOOKE – Slow to begin. Checked shortly after to avoid the heels of WOOHOO GIRL which shifted out. Shifted out under pressure near the 200 metres hampering MEAZZA. MCKENZIE WILL DO – Slow to begin. Had to restrained near the 200 metres to avoid the heels of ROSE CLIP which shifted in under pressure. N. Yadi, rider of ROSE CLIP was severely reprimanded. OUR RECIPE – Bounded in the air as the start was effected and lost ground. OCTOBER STORM – Over-raced at the heels of SOGNI leaving the 600 metres having to be steadied. Raced wide for the majority of the race. PEONY ROSE – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the race. ROSE CLIP – Shifted in under pressure leaving the 200 metres inconveniencing MCKENZIE WILL DO. MEAZZA – Hampered near the 200 metres and was steadied. SOGNI – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
