GENERAL
Due to current Covid-19 restrictions stewards permitted the following weight variations:
Race 1: HOT TOP – 54kg (+ 1kg)
Race 5: BE FAMOUS – 54kg (+ 1kg)
 
Race 1: QMAC MACHINERY CAIRNS RATINGS BAND 0 - 65 Handicap 1500 Metres
 
HOT TOP – Began awkwardly. On return to scale rider S. Sheargold explained it was not his intention to lead today however after beginning only fairly and then commencing to over-race he elected to allow the gelding to improve forward and with the lack of pace was able to lead comfortably.    
 
COASTAL PRINCE – Had a tendency to over-race in the early and middle stages.
 
OWN SWEET WAY (NZ) – Shifted in to obtain a run to the inside of HOT TOP leaving the 320 metres and was disappointed for a run and had to be checked. Rider L. Morrison advised stewards she may have erred by persisting for that run.  
 
Race 2: TRAINING SERVICES Class 6 Handicap 1250 Metres
 
MALACHINI – Slow to begin.
 
SET TO SIZZLE – Over-raced in the early and middle stages and was momentarily steadied near the 1000 metres when crowded for room by LOUD NOISE which shifted in. Rider L. Morrison (LOUD NOISE) was advise to show greater care when shifting ground.
 
LOUD NOISE – Shifted near the 1000 metres crowding SET TO SIZZLE.
 
DUNATUN – Rider N. Day pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR132(5) in that he used his whip in an excessive manner by striking the gelding 16 times which is 2 more times than is permitted. Jockey N. Day was fined the sum of $300.00  
 
Race 3: BUNDABERG RUM QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1250 Metres
 
YES DREAM – Raced greenly in the early stages and shifted in crowding MY SISTER SAL.
 
MY SISTER SAL – Raced fiercely for a short distance after the start when crowded for room and shifted in bumping CHYNA XPRESS.
 
CHYNA XPRESS – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
ARAWELO – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
Race 4: FIRST CLASS ACCOUNTS CAIRNS OPEN Handicap 1400 Metres
 
DREAM I CAN – Bounded in the air as the start was effected. Commenced to over-race shortly after the start and threw its head in the air near the 1200 metres when being restrained.

CASH RAIDER – Raced ungenerously for a short distance after the start.
 
Race 5: TAB VENUE MODE BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 950 Metres
 
SUNNY COWBOY – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding which tailed the field throughout revealed a respiratory abnormality. Trainer T. Rowe advised stewards consideration would given to the geldings racing future. Nonetheless Mr Rowe was advised a veterinary clearance and the results of an endoscopic examination would be required prior the geldings next start.   
 
Race 6: GREAT NORTHERN BREWING CO. Maiden Handicap 950 Metres
 
The start was delayed when ARROWHEAD broke through the front of the gates just prior to the start, travelling some distance and as a result the gelding was subsequently declared a late scratching scratching at 4.43PM. All monies invested on ARROWHEAD were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 4.43pm:
 
39 cents in the dollar for the win MAMMA DON’T DANCE  
27 cents in the dollar for the place of winner MAMMA DON’T DANCE
39 cents in the dollar for 2nd place LORD RIVERS.
 
Trainer F. Wieland was advised he obtain two further barrier certificates for the gelding prior.
 
GALACTIC TREASURE – Slow to begin. Rider N. Yadi was cautioned in regards to the use of whip.
 
 WHISPERING MOSS – Slow to begin.
 
HOLY FORCE – Slow to begin.
 
MAMMA DON'T DANCE – Shifted in near the 800 metres bumping with REVOULUZ.
 
REVOULUZ – Shifted out near the 800 metres bumping with MAMMA DON’T DANCE.
 
Race 7: CAIRNS CAR BROKERS RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap 1250 Metres
 
JOURNEY OF SONG – Trainer S. Massingham advised stewards the gelding would be ridden in a more forward position from its favourable barrier today. Was ridden accordingly.  
 
MISS FUBULICIOUS – Began awkwardly. Shifted ground under pressure over the concluding stages.  
 
SOLOMON – Restrained for some distance leaving 700 metres after improving onto heels.
 
MILLAA MISS – Restrained near the 1150 metres when awkwardly placed between runners. Tightened for room near the 950 metres and clipped the heels of JAMOCHA which shifted in. Rider R. Shred (JAMOCHA) was found guilty of a charge under the provisions of AR131(a) in that she failed to make sufficient effort to prevent her mount from shifting in resulting in MILLA MISS being tightened for room and being checked near the 950 metres. Ms Shreds licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days to commence at midnight 23/11/2021 and expire midnight 30 November 2021. stewards took into account Ms Shreds exemplary record in regards to this rule. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be alme in the off front leg. Trainer M. Dale was advised he must provide a veterinary certificate of soundness prior to its next trial or race start.
 
SOGNI – Raced wide for the majority of the race.  
 
AHRI'S AMORE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.  
 
JAMOCHA – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
