Raced greenly in the early and middle stages and shifted in crowding NEVETON near the 750 metres and again near the 500 metres. Shifted in when racing greenly crowding ALEXANDRA MARGARET leaving the 400 metres. ALEXANDRA MARGARET – Crowded for room leaving the 400 metres and shifted in brushing the running rail and became unbalanced. BLONDIE'S SECRET – Raced wide rounding the 400 metre turn. HEARTSAREROMAN – Raced wide rounding the 400 metre turn.SIMPLY BEANS – Bumped shortly after the start. Race 2: CENTURY CRANES BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1250 MetresMANSENETA – Delayed the start when proved difficult to load. Trainer S. Cooper was advised a warning would be placed on its barrier manners. Slow to begin. POETIC ATTACKS – Began awkwardly. MODERNISM – Laid in approaching the winning post before being straightened. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a slow post-race recovery. Trainer M. Dale was advised he must provide a veterinary clearance prior to its next start. COASTAL PRINCE – Shifted in at the start bumping MYSTERY 'N' MAGIC. Crowded for room near the 1100 metres and was steadied. FLUTTERING – Shifted in near the 1100 metres crowding runners to its inside. Rider L. Morrison was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances. MYSTERY 'N' MAGIC – Shifted out at the start bumping COASTAL PRINCE. Crowded for room near the 1100 metres and was steadied. Race 3: NUTURF QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1250 MetresAVATEA – Shifted inwards on jumping tightening runners to its inside. YARRALINDA – Tightened for room on jumping. Made the 700 metre crossing awkwardly and shifted out hampering MY SISTER SAL. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have mild lacerations on both hind bumpers. MY SISTER SAL – Tightened for room on jumping. Hampered near the 700 metres. MUZZLETOP – Shifted in at the start bumping heavily with CHATEAU ROYALE becoming unbalanced and shifted out tightening runners to its outside. IT'S A PLOY – Tightened for room on jumping. CHATEAU ROYALE – Shifted out at the start bumping heavily with MUZZLETOP. Trainer P. Rowe advised the filly may have got its tongue over the bit during running and that he would experiment with a gear change prior to its next race. KING JESTER – Forced wider by EAGLE EYE STAR which shifted out near the 300 metres. EAGLE EYE STAR – Shifted out and away from MODERNISM near the 300 metres forcing KING JESTER wider. Stewards considered an objection lodged by L. Morrison, the rider of EAGLE EYE STAR which finished 2nd against KING JESTER (M. Potgieter) being declared the winner on the grounds of interference over the final 200 metres. The stewards were of the opinion that the degree of interference suffered by EAGLE EYE STAR did not exceed the margin between the two horses at the finish and therefore they dismissed the objection and declared correct weight on the judges semaphored numbers. Race 4: HEDLEY HOMES Class 1 Handicap 1250 MetresYOSHI TORANAGA – Bounded in the air on jumping and lost ground.SHESAYSTHANKS – Over-raced for a short distance leaving the 1000 metres. SHOCK ZONE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.RIGHT BOWER – Raced wide for the majority of the race.MUSICAL GIRL – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 5: CAIRNS HARDWARE BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 950 MetresBULLET STORM – Slow to begin. CAPTIVATED – Slow to begin.TODWICK – Slow to begin. Raced wide around the 400 metre turn. OCTOBER STORM – Shifted out on jumping bumping heavily with ARUBA. ARUBA – Shifted in on jumping bumping heavily with OCTOBER STORM and became unbalanced. EXCEEDINGLY KOOL – Raced wide around the 400 metre turn. MACEDON FLYER – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a mild laceration to its off-hind leg. Race 6: NORWELD AUSTRALIA BENCHMARK 72 Handicap 950 MetresCHAPEL ROAD – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the middle stages. NICE RETORT – Shifted in near the 550 metres placing ALI’S JAB in restricted room for a short distance. Rider G. Kliese was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances. ALI’S JAB – Placed in restricted room for a short distance near the 550 metres and steadied.CLEAVER GREENE – Rider S. Gittos was reprimanded for use of the whip prior to the 100m under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) Race 7: UNDERWOOD PARTY HIRE Maiden Plate 1250 MetresACTION JACKSON – Slow to begin. LORD OF LIGHT – Slow to begin. The saddle shifted to the off side during running placing rider S. Sheargold at a disadvantage. Race 8: DAWSONS ENGINEERING Maiden Handicap 950 MetresSCAMDEMIC – Shifted out under pressure near the 200 metres bumping with MASARED which shifted in. Shifted in under pressure leaving the 50 metres hampering SPIRITED BOY. Raced wide for the majority of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a slow post-race recovery. Trainer T. Rowe was advised he must provide a veterinary clearance prior to its next start. OUT SIZED – After being slow to begin was then checked from the heels of SPRITED BOY which shifted outwards. SNEAKY TRUTHS – Began awkwardly. Inconvenienced and became unbalanced near the 200 metres when tightened for room by TEMPS DU LOUVRE which had a tendency to lay in and shifted in and away from MISS BOSSY which shifted in. GREY ASCHER – Momentarily hampered approaching the 200 metres. SPIRITED BOY – Shifted out at the start bumping OUT SIZED. Bumped leaving the 200m metres and shifted in forcing MISS BOSSY inwards near 150 metres. Hampered leaving the 50 metres. TEMPS DU LOUVRE – Began awkwardly. Shifted in leaving the 200 metres bumping SNEAKY TRUTHS. A post-race veterinary examination of the filly identified the presence of blood in the near side nostril. TEMPS DU LOUVRE shall before racing again be required to undergo a satisfactory gallop of at least 1,000 metres in the presence of a Steward. AR79(8)RYAN'S ROULETTE – Slow to begin. Made the 700 metre crossing awkwardly. MISS BOSSY – Forced inwards near the 150 metres by SPIRITED BOY which shifted in. MASARED – Shifted in near the 200 metres bumping SCAMDEMIC which shifted out and then in turn shifted in bumping SPIRITED BOY. Race 9: STUDIO H BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1500 MetresBORN TO SUCCEED – Shifted out at the start bumping PLUCKERCARN. Raced wide for the majority of the race.PLUCKERCARN – Bumped on jumping. Had a tendency to over-race near the 1400 metres for short distance. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Raced wide for the majority of the race. TOFF ROCKS – Shifted out under pressure near the 200 metres. MT PETER MISS – Rider R. Wiggins was reprimanded under the provisions of AR16(b)(ii) in that he disobeyed official protocol by not entering the placegetters gate. TRIGGER – Rider M.
