GENERAL
 
As jockey R Wiggins was not riding at today’s meeting, he was replaced as per steward’s summary.
 
The following permitted overweights today:
Race 2 – F. Edwards (Ratalouie) + 0.5kg
Race 4 – J. Stanley (Le Rubis) + 1kg, Ms A Thomson (Taken By Theft) + 1kg
Race 5 – F. Edwards (All To Do) + 0.5kg

Race 1: HALPIN PARTNERS ACCOUNTANTS Maiden Handicap 950 Metres
 
FLYING ARTIST – Delayed the start when fractious in the barriers, underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages and compounded over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination failed to find any significant abnormalities other than blood in its mouth from an old, previous laceration. Trainer S. Massingham will be advised a warning will be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners.
 
BANK BANK BANK – Bumped on jumping. Laid out soon after the start tightening runners to its outside.  Rider F. Edwards became indisposed after passing the winning post. After being examined by the QAS he was stood down for the remainder of the day.Jockey Edwards was advised to be mindful of his ability to take lighter rides and that a medical clearance would be
required prior to his next race ride.
 
ROTHGURL – Shifted in on jumping bumping with ALWAYS THE LADY. Tightened for room soon after the start. Raced wide rounding the home-turn.   
BELLA'S IN COMMAND – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide rounding the home-turn.   
 
ALWAYS THE LADY – Shifted out on jumping bumping with ROTHGURL. Tightened for room soon after the start.
 
GRISHAM – Shifted in near the 250 metres brushing the running rail.

GALACTIC TREASURE – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
Race 2: LOOKSMART ALTERATIONS QTIS Two-Year-Old and Three-Year-Old Maiden Hand 1250 Metres
 
GENTLEMAN REID – Trainer S. Hoffman advised instructions today would be to be ridden more positive from its good barrier.Was slow to begin and unable to muster early speed. Steadied leaving the 1000 metres when crowded for room.  

TROUBLE LOOMING – Slow to begin. Shifted wider leaving the 900 metres  
 
MACH SEVEN – Slow to begin. Momentarily held up for clear running leaving the 200 metres.
 
TO BOOGIE – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Made the 1000 metre turn awkwardly and shifted out bumping DENISE’S PRIDE. Raced ungenerously leaving the 500 metres and made the home turn awkwardly. Connections were advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.
 
MISS BOSSY – Raced wide in the early stages.  
 
DENISE'S PRIDE – Bumped near the 1000 metres.
 
Race 3: THE HAMBLEDON HOTEL BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1500 Metres
 
FEMALE OFFICER – Slow to begin.
 
HIGH ADVICE – Slow to begin. Jockey P. Romeo was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for the use of the whip prior to the 100m being seven times which is 2 more than is permitted.
 
CALL ME MO – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
ROTH'N'BELL – Over-raced in the early stages. Shifted in near the 500 metres and again near the 400 metres bumping MT PETER MISS. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
MT PETER MISS – Bumped by ROTH’N’BELL which shifted in near 500 metres and again near the 400 metres.
 
Race 4: NORLIFT QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 950 Metres
 
The start of this race was delayed over confusion of correct saddles being taken by trainers. As a result both App C. Colliss (AKOYA GEM) and App A. Thompson (KOHEETO) were required to be reweighed. Whilst stewards noted a number of extenuating circumstances, all parties were reminded of their obligations and responsibilities to ensure the correct saddles are taken.

MORE THE MERRIER – Slow to begin. After being slow to begin was urged to go forward and improved onto heels after the pace slackened slightly having to restrained off heels for some distance.
 
GUAPO – Tightened for room on jumping. Restrained off heels for some distance leaving the 800 metres when the pace   slackened slightly.
 
PROPHETESS – Tightened for room on jumping. Restrained off heels for some distance leaving the 800 metres when the pace slackened slightly.
 
HUSETTE – Shifted in on jumping tightening runners to its inside. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
SPIRIT MEISTER – Restrained off heels for some distance leaving the 800 metres when the pace slackened slightly.
 
HALLSIDE HAMMER – Shifted out near the 500 metres bumping KEYS PLEASE.

KEYS PLEASE – Bumped near the 500 metres.
 
TAKEN BY THEFT – Threw its head in the air when being restrained near the 450 metres. Raced wide for the majority of the race.   

YARRALINDA – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
AKAOYA GEM – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
LE RUBIS – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
 
Race 5: VELLACORP PAINTING SERVICES Class 6 Plate 950 Metres
 
The start of race was delayed when a licensee was injured in the tie up stalls requiring medical attention. As a result, all races were put back one race with last race to run at 5.10pm.
Race 5 – 4.06pm, Race 6 – 4.41pm and Race 8 – 5.10pm.    
 
HIGHER REALM – Shifted in at the start tightening HERVOR. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
PALENCIA – Shifted out at the start tightening HERVOR.
 
VALIDAR – After being initially slow to begin was then tightened for room and lost ground. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
HERVOR – After being initially slow to begin was then tightened for room and lost ground.
 
MY BEST EFFORT – Shifted in at the start tightening VALIDAR.
 
Race 6: CAIRNS FLORAL SUPPLIES OPEN Handicap 1250 Metres
 
FULL RECOGNITION – Slow to begin. Forced wider over the concluding stages. Raced wide for the majority.
 
MAQUEREAU – Bounded in the air on jumping and lost ground. Restrained off heels near the 1000 metres after improving into an awkward run and crowded for room by EL OF A SAGA which shifted in slightly when over-racing.
 
INCHING CLOSER – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early stages. Had a tendency to lay in,  in the home straight. Forced wider over the concluding stages.
 
BRILLIANT MIND – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Improved onto heels near the 500 metres and was checked.
 
EL OF A SAGA – Over-raced in the early stages. Shifted in when over-racing near the the 1000 metres crowing MAQUEREAU. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight forcing other runners wider. Rider apprentice A. Thompson was advised to exercise more care.
 
WHITTERICK – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 7: TRINITY LINKS RESORT Class 3 Handicap 1250 Metres
 
FLUTTERING – Blundered on jumping.
 
BELLEVITA – Reared as the start was effected and lost ground. Restrained near the 200 metres and shifted out across heels to obtain clear running.  
 
CANADIAN ROCKIES – Steadied near the 500 metres when crowded by PROMPT REPLY which shifted in.
 
PROMPT REPLY – Shifted in near the 500 metres crowding CANADIAN ROCKIES.
 
SUNSHINES – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
FORSETI – Jockey J. Baker was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for the use of the whip prior to the 100m being eight times which is 3 more than is permitted.
 
NEW KING(GB) – Rider apprentice K. Lenton advised stewards on returning to scale that her saddle shifted to the near side soon after the start placing her at a disadvantage.
