Race 1: ARCHERS BCM CAIRNS QTIS 2YO Handicap 950 Metres

PREMIUM STAR – Bounded in the air on jumping and lost ground.

SOUL SURFER – Laid out in the middle stages.

OUR ADDICTION – Laid in over the concluding stages.

CODY'S BOY – Delayed the start when refused to load and was declared a late scratching at 11.55am. All monies invested on CODY’S BOY were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 11.55am:

EVIL WOMAN – Returned to scale with a small amount of blood in its near side nostril. A post- race veterinary examination revealed a small cut in the left nostril and as such this was attributed to trauma and no further action was taken.

Race 2: MARSH ADVANTAGE INSURANCE Maiden Handicap 950 Metres

REBOZO – As the gelding had not started for a period of time it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Raced in restricted room near the 400 metres. A post- race veterinary examination revealed soreness in the near side front leg. Trainer R. Chillemi was advised he must provide a veterinary clearance of soundness prior to its next start.

TAKEAWAY BRIDIE – Bounded in the air on jumping and lost ground.

SONNIE – Bumped on jumping. Shifted out near the 550 metres bumping DAIQUIRI DAYS.


ENUFF ROSES – Shifted in at the start bumping SONNIE. Raced ungenerously for a short distance leaving the 400 metres.

DAIQUIRI DAYS – Bumped leaving the 550 metres and shifted out bumping BEAN WARRIOR. Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight.

MISS BOSSY – Raced wide rounding the home turn.

BEAN WARRIOR – Bumped on the hind quarters near the 550 metres and became unbalanced. Raced wide rounding the home turn.

Race 3: STRATA COMPLIANCE SOLUTIONS BENCHMARK 65 Hcp 950 Metres

ROCK SPUR – As the gelding had not started for a period of time it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Slow to begin.

ALL STAR ROCKET – Delayed the start when proved difficult to load. Trainer B. Thomson was advised a warning would be placed on its barrier manners. Began awkwardly.

ALI'S JAB – Began awkwardly. Raced wide rounding the home turn. Laid in under pressure in the home straight proving difficult to ride.

TRAPASSI – Raced wide rounding the home turn.

EXACTAMENTE – Jockey L. Morrison pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) and was fined $200 in that used her whip on 8 occasions prior to the 100m which is 3 more times than is permitted.

Race 4: ARCHERS THE STRATA PROFESSIONALS QTIS 2&3YO Maiden Hcp 1250 Metres

ENDINAYE – Shifted out at the start bumping LORD POWER.

LORD POWER – Bumped on jumping.

BORGOV – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

WILY POWER – Began awkwardly and shifted in soon after bumping with VANCOUVER LIGHTS and blundered. Lost ground when racing greenly near the 500 metres. Bumped on the hind quarters when tiring near the 400 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed soreness in the off-front leg. Trainer T. Rowe was advised he must provide a veterinary clearance of soundness prior to next start.

VANCOUVER LIGHTS – Shifted out near the 400 metres bumping WILY POWER.

Race 5: RED BERET HOTEL Class 1 Handicap 1250 Metres

BELLE ADELE – Began very awkwardly and shifted in bumping STRETCHING and lost ground.

STRETCHING – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

LONDON BELL (NZ) – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Trainer F. Stockdale was reprimanded in that he failed to advise stewards by the appropriate time of a change in riding tactics.

IT'S A PLOY – Delayed the start after becoming fractious in the barriers and was declared a late scratching at 2.21pm. All monies invested on IT’S A PLOY were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to:

Trainer B. Baker was advised he must provide a further barrier certificate prior to the gelding being permitted to race again.

Race 6: TICKETS ON SALE CAIRNS CUP 27TH AUGUST Class 1 Hcp 1250 Metres

DANNI'S RULER– Delayed the start slightly when rider S. Wilson requested a veterinary examination when arriving at the barriers. After it was found to be lame in the off front and was declared a late scratching at 2.21pm. All monies invested on DANNI’S RULER were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on the winner and placegetters prior to 2.55PM:

Connections were advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to its next start or trial.

The start was further delayed when the course sprinkler system commenced to operate for a short time.

BONYTHON – Began awkwardly. Raced in close proximity with SPIRIT MEISTER over the concluding stages and brushed a number of times.

SHE'S A SINNER – Slow to begin.

SPIRIT MEISTER – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Rider N. Thomas reported the gelding had a tendency to lay out in the early stages and then lay in under pressure over the concluding stages. Raced in close proximity with BONYTHON over the concluding stages and brushed a number of times.

NANTUCKET – Threw its head in the air when crowded and being restrained near the 1000 metres.

ZALMATIAN – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

MAJOR NIC – Jockey L. McCoy was reprimanded for the use of the whip prior to the 100m being 6 times which is one more than is permitted. AR132(7)(a)(ii)

Race 7: HIRE A HUBBY BAYVIEW BENCHMARK 70 Handicap1250 Metres

TOFF ROCKS – Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground.

EL OF A SAGA – Laid in near the 500 metres despite the efforts of its rider tightening GDANSK which in turn shifted in tightening WHITTERICK.

GDANSK – Tightened for room near the 500 metres.

WHITTERICK – Tightened for room near the 500 metres, shifted in brushing the running rail and lost ground.

LOUD NOISE – Jockey M. Abe was reprimanded for use of the whip prior to the 100m being 7 times which is 2 then is permitted. AR132(7)(a)(ii)

THE CRUISER – Inconvenienced near the 1000 metres.

AVATEA – Commenced to over-race after being urged forward and shifted out near the 1000 metres inconveniencing THE CRUISER. Rider J. Stanley was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

SIZZLING SUN – Raced wide for the majority of the race.


Race 8: FNQ VENDING OPEN Handicap 1400 Metres

SO YOU DREAM – Shifted out at the start tightening runners to its outside.

BATTLE CRY – Shifted in at the start tightening runners to its inside. Shifted out approaching the 550 metres momentarily hampering SIMPLY SPLASHING. Rider N. Day was advised to show greater care.

BUXTON – Tightened for room on jumping. Over-raced in the middle stages.

SALESMAN – Tightened for room on jumping. Over-raced in the middle stages. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

NEW KING (GB) – Tightened for room on jumping. Over-raced in the middle stages.

SIMPLY SPLASHING – Made the 700 metre crossing awkwardly. Momentarily hampered near the 550 metres. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

Race 9: LOOK SHARP PAINTING & DECORATING P/L BENCHMARK 60 Hcp 1400 Metres

STATS – Bounded in the air, shifted out bumping ACTON SHALE and lost ground.

LAPSEKI – Shifted out at the start bumping BELLS APPROACHING.

ACTON SHALE – Bumped on jumping.

MYSTERY 'N' MAGIC – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early stages.

BELLS APPROACHING – Bumped on jumping. Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

FEMALE OFFICER – Over-raced in the middle stages.

ZEPPELIN – Shifted out under pressure near the 50 metres.
