Race 2: MARSH ADVANTAGE INSURANCE Maiden Handicap 950 MetresREBOZO – As the gelding had not started for a period of time it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Raced in restricted room near the 400 metres. A post- race veterinary examination revealed soreness in the near side front leg. Trainer R. Chillemi was advised he must provide a veterinary clearance of soundness prior to its next start. TAKEAWAY BRIDIE – Bounded in the air on jumping and lost ground. SONNIE – Bumped on jumping. Shifted out near the 550 metres bumping DAIQUIRI DAYS.ENUFF ROSES – Shifted in at the start bumping SONNIE. Raced ungenerously for a short distance leaving the 400 metres. DAIQUIRI DAYS – Bumped leaving the 550 metres and shifted out bumping BEAN WARRIOR. Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight. MISS BOSSY – Raced wide rounding the home turn. BEAN WARRIOR – Bumped on the hind quarters near the 550 metres and became unbalanced. Raced wide rounding the home turn. Race 3: STRATA COMPLIANCE SOLUTIONS BENCHMARK 65 Hcp 950 MetresROCK SPUR – As the gelding had not started for a period of time it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Slow to begin. ALL STAR ROCKET – Delayed the start when proved difficult to load. Trainer B. Thomson was advised a warning would be placed on its barrier manners. Began awkwardly. ALI'S JAB – Began awkwardly. Raced wide rounding the home turn. Laid in under pressure in the home straight proving difficult to ride. TRAPASSI – Raced wide rounding the home turn.EXACTAMENTE – Jockey L. Morrison pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) and was fined $200 in that used her whip on 8 occasions prior to the 100m which is 3 more times than is permitted. Race 4: ARCHERS THE STRATA PROFESSIONALS QTIS 2&3YO Maiden Hcp 1250 MetresENDINAYE – Shifted out at the start bumping LORD POWER.LORD POWER – Bumped on jumping. BORGOV – Raced wide for the majority of the race. WILY POWER – Began awkwardly and shifted in soon after bumping with VANCOUVER LIGHTS and blundered. Lost ground when racing greenly near the 500 metres. Bumped on the hind quarters when tiring near the 400 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed soreness in the off-front leg. Trainer T. Rowe was advised he must provide a veterinary clearance of soundness prior to next start. VANCOUVER LIGHTS – Shifted out near the 400 metres bumping WILY POWER. Race 5: RED BERET HOTEL Class 1 Handicap 1250 MetresBELLE ADELE – Began very awkwardly and shifted in bumping STRETCHING and lost ground. STRETCHING – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide for the majority of the race. LONDON BELL (NZ) – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Trainer F. Stockdale was reprimanded in that he failed to advise stewards by the appropriate time of a change in riding tactics. IT'S A PLOY – Delayed the start after becoming fractious in the barriers and was declared a late scratching at 2.21pm. All monies invested on IT’S A PLOY were ordered to be refunded. Rider N. Thomas reported the gelding had a tendency to lay out in the early stages and then lay in under pressure over the concluding stages. Raced in close proximity with BONYTHON over the concluding stages and brushed a number of times. NANTUCKET – Threw its head in the air when crowded and being restrained near the 1000 metres. ZALMATIAN – Raced wide for the majority of the race. MAJOR NIC – Jockey L. McCoy was reprimanded for the use of the whip prior to the 100m being 6 times which is one more than is permitted. WHITTERICK – Tightened for room near the 500 metres, shifted in brushing the running rail and lost ground. LOUD NOISE – Jockey M. Abe was reprimanded for use of the whip prior to the 100m being 7 times which is 2 then is permitted. AR132(7)(a)(ii) THE CRUISER – Inconvenienced near the 1000 metres.
