SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

ATHERTON TURF CLUB – SATURDAY JULY 23, 2022

RACE 3 SIERRA DRILLING RATINGS BAND 0 – 60 H’CAP – 1200 Metres

Stewards today inquired into the reason SIZZLING SUN blundered near the 700 metres, dislodging jockey N. Nelson. After hearing evidence from rider’s, apprentice I. Teh (COLLOMBATTI), apprentice R. Shred (WAR GENERAL) in the company of senior rider J. Taylor, a statement from M. Abe (VULPES), N. Nelson (SIZZLING SUN), and further viewing of the patrol film it was established that when the pace slackened approaching the 700 metres COLLAMBATTI laid in marginally despite the efforts of its rider when SIZZLING SUN improved onto the heels of that runner, clipping its heels and blundered, dislodging Ms Nelson. As no one rider could be held fully responsible for careless riding no further action was taken and the matter reported as an unfortunate riding incident.
