INDICTMENT – Improved into a narrow run approaching the winning post bumpingWILD IRISH which shifted out and was bumped on the hind quarters before brushing NANTUCKET. Holt was severely reprimanded in that she failed to comply with a steward’s directive and apply for permitted overweight of the gelding by the appropriate time. MODERN LEGEND – Began awkwardly. LORD OF LIGHT – Crowded for room on jumping and lost ground. KING JESTER – Shifted in at the start crowding LORD OF LIGHT. SPIRIT MEISTER – Over-raced for a short distance approaching the 1000 metres. Raced wide for the majority of the race. FIRE KING – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Lost its near fore plate approaching the 50 metres. SANTA MARINELLA – Raced wide for the majority of the race. GOLD TRICKLE – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 6: FGF BITUMEN Class 4 Handicap 950 Metres VELOURS BLEU – Made contact with the enclosure fence entering the track and underwent a veterinary examination on arriving at the barriers and was cleared to start. Raced in restricted room near the 500 metres. Became unbalanced when crowded for room near the 400 metres by ALI’S JAB which shifted in slightly, when over-racing. STARFILLY – Began awkwardly and shifted in bumping with ARISE MY SON. Raced wide rounding the home-turn. MYMILL – Slow to begin. ARISE MY SON – Shifted out at the start bumping STARFILLY.Raced wide rounding the home-turn. ALI'S JAB – Commenced to over-race leaving the 500 metres and shifted in slightly near the 400 metres crowding VELOURS BLEU. JUST A LOVE SONG – Raced wide rounding the home-turn. SARANDOS – Over-raced in the middle stages. Held up for clear running near the 200 metres. Race 7:BABINDA ELECTRICS LIGHTNING OPEN Handicap 950 Metres SILENT EXPLORER –As the gelding had not competed for an extended period it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. SYLVESTER –As the gelding had not competed for an extended period it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Rider S. Sheargold dismounted after passing the winning post when of the opinion it was awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. KAHUNA –As the gelding had not competed for an extended period it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Began awkwardly and lost ground. RAISE DA VIBRATION – Slow to begin TENNESSEE BOY – Slow to begin. CUPID'S SON – Shifted in under pressure near the 100 metres. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. LOUIS JANUARY – On returning to scale jockey R. Fradd advised stewards the gelding in his opinion was disappointing and failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure. Trainer J. Wehlow was of opinion the gelding has come to end of its current preparation and it is now his intention to send it LOUIS JANUARY for a spell.Race 9:CSF INDUSTRIES Class 6 Plate 1250 metres 1250 Metres TEMPO (NZ) –As jockey A. Layt was unable to fulfil his riding engagement due to transportation requirements, he was replaced by S. Pawsey. Slow to begin. BRILLIANT MIND – Slipped over when being led to the course from its oncourse stable. A pre-race veterinary examination revealed soreness in its near hind leg. As such the gelding was declared a late scratching at 4.04pm. As oncourse betting on the event had not yet commenced no deductions were applicable. Trainer S. Massingham was advised he must provide a veterinary clearance prior to the gelding racing or trialling again.ALL TO DO – Commenced to over-race early and made the 1000 metre turn awkwardly.
