Hughes was unable to proceed to today’s race meeting and as a result Wanna Tweet (Race2) and McNair (Race 6) were both declared late scratching’s at 7.51am. Trainer S. Hoffman due to being uncontactable at this late stage, trainer of Arise My Son being first emergency had already worked the gelding and as such it was declared a late scratching at 7.59am. Day +.50kg Race 1: NORWELD QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1250 Metres MISSION ESTATE – Bounded in the air and lost ground before improving forward and gaining the lead leaving the 900 metres. HEROIC BOY – Began awkwardly. Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Shifted wider leaving the 800 metres and raced wide from that point. Laid out under pressure in the home straight. MR WHITTINGTON – Began awkwardly. LORD POWER – Over-raced for a short distance near the 1000 metres. Race 2: CENTURY CRANES SIR WILLIAMS OBE Class 6 Plate 950 Metres Correct weight was delayed when the trainer of the 2nd placegetter YES DREAM, Mr Lee requested to view the stewards patrol video to ascertain if he had grounds to lodge an objection against the winner More The Merrier, alleging interference near the 200 metres. After viewing the available footage Mr Lee did not wish to proceed and correct weight was given on the judges semaphored numbers. SAINT NO MORE – Slow to begin. Raced wide rounding the home turn. VALIDAR – Slow to begin. STARFILLY – Began awkwardly and shifted out tightening LOUD NOISE. Laid out rounding the home turn. YES DREAM – Began awkwardly and shifted in tightening LOUD NOISE. Momentarily hampered near the 200 metres and shifted inwards. Raced wide rounding the home turn. LOUD NOISE – Tightened between runners on jumping.MORE THE MERRIER – Shifted out under pressure near the 200 metres. Race 3: BRISBANE RACING CLUB Maiden Plate 1500 Metres BROADWATER – Shifted in crowding LET’S RUNAWAY at the start. LET'S RUNAWAY – Crowded for room on jumping and shifted in tightening HALF EVIL. HALF EVIL – Tightened for room on jumping and lost ground.LA FORTUNA – Shifted out on jumping tightening HALF EVIL.A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be showing signs of heat stress. Recovered quickly after veterinary treatment. Trainer P. Rowe was advised he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to it racing or trialling again. IMPEACHER – Improved onto heels leaving the 800 metres and was restrained. TROUBLE LOOMING – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 4: KENFROST HOMES Class 1 Handicap 1500 Metres READY MISTER MUSIC – Slow to begin. MADAM JANE – Bounded in the air and lost ground. FORSETI – Slow to begin. REAL EMPRESS – Apprentice M. Castle was severely reprimanded in that she was very late to weigh out for this race. Slow to begin. SWANKY SUE – Bumped on jumping. TOUCH OF BALI – Shifted in at the start bumping SWANKY SUE. SPIRIT MEISTER – Over-raced in the early stages. DUBAI MOON – Shifted in when attempting a narrow run near the 500 metres tightening GOLDEN CHANCES which was severely checked. GOLDEN CHANCES – Tightened for room near the 500 metres, was severely checked and lost ground. Apprentice jockey I. Teh (DUBAI MOON) pleaded guilty in the presence of senior rider G. Kliese to a charge under AR131(a) in that she allowed DUBAI MOON to improve into a tight run near the 500 metres tightening GOLDEN CHANCES which was severely checked. Ms Teh’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 11 days to commence midnight Thursday 15 September 2022 and expire 26 September 2022. Stewards deemed this incident mid-range in carelessness and took into account Ms Teh’s recent record and guilty plea. Race 5: KEITH & YVONNE DE LACY MEMORIAL PATRON'S CUP BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1900 Metres JESKO – Slow to begin. KIM ALICIA – Tightened for room on jumping and lost ground. ROSHAN (USA) – Began awkwardly and shifted out tightening KIM ALICIA which lost ground. AS YAWOOD – Hung in under pressure in the home straight. ARUBA – Finished tailed off.A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be sore in both front legs. Trainer D. Brennan was advised he must provide a veterinary certificate of soundness before it would be permitted to race or trial again. Mr Brennan was further advised its nomination would be refused at TAB meetings until it shows an improvement in form by way of country meetings. Race 6: CAIRNS AMATEURS COMMITTEE Class 3 Plate 1250 Metres WAR GENERAL – As jockey N. Day was dually engaged and unable to fulfil the engagement, he was replaced by jockey S. Sheargold. N. Day was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR127.Lost its near fore plate during running. KOONUNGA HILL – Hit the enclosure gate when entering the course proper. Underwent a veterinary examination after arriving at the barriers and cleared to start. Raced wide for the majority of the race. REBEL BRO – Began awkwardly. Crowded for room near the 200 metres. Raced wide for the majority of the race. WILD IRISH – After competing yesterday underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Crowded for room soon after the start. Raced wide for the majority of the race. VELOURS BLEU – Over-raced in the early stages.Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 7: GREAT NORTHERN BREWING CO CAIRNS AMATEUR CUP2100 Metres FORTIFIED (NZ) – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race. NEW KING (GB) – Slow to begin. PLANET WARRIOR – Raced wide for the majority of the race. When questioned into its performance rider N. Day explained the gelding failed to respond to his riding and in his opinion raced flat. Trainer O. Cairns advised that following todays performance it is now her intention the gelding be sent for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Race 8: TAB CAIRNS AMATEUR SPRINT 1400 Metres FIRE KING – Blundered on jumping. DOCTOR ZOUS – Shifted out at the start bumping BOMBASAY. Raced wide for the majority of the race. WREN'S DAY (USA) – Began awkwardly making heavy contact with its outside barrier gate and lost ground. BOMBASAY – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide for the majority of the race. Jockey J. Taylor advised stewards on returning to scale the gelding never travelled comfortably throughout the race. FULL RECOGNITION – Slow to begin. LOVE IS BLIND – Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages. TENNESSEE BOY – Over-raced approaching the 1000 metres. BRILLIANT MIND – Over-raced approaching the 1000 metres. LOVE ON SUNDAY – Put in an awkward stride near the 1000 metres. Shifted out under pressure near the 200 metres and momentarily hampered by LOVE IS BLIND which shifted out. LOVE EXPRESS – Raced wide for the majority of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be sore in both front legs. Trainer T.
