Kennedy Race 1: AAB EQUIPMENT PTY LTD Class 6 Handicap 1400 metres SANTA MARINELLA – Raced wide in the middle stages. WHITTERICK – Raced wide in the middle stages. Race 2: LOOK SHARP PAINTING & DECORATING PTY LTD Maiden Handicap 1400 metres DUYFKEN – Over-raced in the early stages. SEA STITCH – Over-raced in the early stages. Raced wide for the majority of the race. GLEAMING MISS – Rider L. Morrison dismounted on pulling up when of the opinion something may have been amiss. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Following the running of this race the track was upgraded to a soft (7) Race 3: ZARRAFFA'S COFFEE SHOWGROUND AND EDMONTON Class 2 Handicap 1400 metres SWANKY SUE – Shifted out at the start bumping FLAMING TORCH and lost ground. FLAMING TORCH (NZ) – Bumped on jumping.Raced wide for the majority of the race. CUNNAMULLA – Over-raced in early stages and threw its head in the air near 1200 metres when being restrained. Held up for clear running in the early part of the home straight. PREMIUM STAR – Over-raced in the early stages. SHEEZ BEAN TALKIN' – Shifted wider leaving the 650 metres to improve. RAMBLIN' MAN – Laid out rounding the home turn. Shifted wider under pressure over the concluding stages. DAY TO FAVOUR –AppJockey I Teh pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that used her whip nine times prior the 100 metres which is four more than is permitted and was fined the sum of $200.00. Stewards noted this was Ms Teh’s first recent breach of this rule. MACH SEVEN –A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding identified the presence of blood in both nostrils. MACH SEVEN shall not without the permission of the Stewards: (a) be trained, exercised or galloped on any racecourse for a period of two months; (b) start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after a satisfactory gallop of at least 1,000 metres in the presence of a Steward. AR79(4) Race 4: FGF BITUMEN OPEN Handicap 1250 metres GAELIC – Slow to begin. INCHING CLOSER – Slow to begin. Shifted wider leaving the 800 metres to improve.Apprentice Jockey M. Potgieter pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that used his whip 6 times prior the 100 metres which is one more time than is permitted and was reprimanded. Stewards noted this was Apprentice Potgieter’s third breach of this rule. DESERT COWBOY – Over-raced in the early stages. LOVE ON SUNDAY – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 5: STATUS SIGNS BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1250 metres LOBURN LASS – Shifted in at the start tightening DELUSIONAL.Laid out rounding the home turn. DELUSIONAL – Tightened for room shortly after the start. Raced wide for the majority of the race. MIRROR ILLUSION – Shifted out on jumping bumping with SILLMAN.SILLMAN – Shifted in on jumping bumping with MIRROR ILLUSION. Improved onto the heels of the tiring NANNA KNUCKEY near the 150 metres and had to alter course to its inside. FEMALE OFFICER – Over-raced in the early stages. Difficulties obtaining clear running in the early part of the straight. FINE IMPACT – Over-raced in the early stages. NANNA KNUCKEY – Tired quickly near the 150 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to its off-hind leg. Lost its near hind plate during running. Trainer M. Dale was advised he must provide a veterinary certificate of soundness prior to its next race start. TODWICK – Post race veterinary examination revealed a small superficial laceration to its left nostril. Race 6: ASTUTE FINANCE - DONNIE MARTIN QTIS JEWEL QUALIFIER 2YO Plate 940 metres JUST JONESY – Slow to begin.Restrained off heels leaving the 700 metres and shifted wider.Raced greenly in home straight. Jockey M. Abe pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that used his whip 6 times prior the 100 metres which is one more time than is permitted and was reprimanded. Stewards noted this was jockey Abe’s first recent breach of this rule. Jockey Abe was cautioned in regard to his use of the whip when not in contention.MISHANI EAGLE – Slow to begin. Made the 800-metre crossing awkwardly.TURN BIRD – Began awkwardly. Restrained off heels leaving the 700 metres. AVERAGE JANE – Shifted in soon after the start bumping SALIKA DIVA on the hind quarters and the commenced to over-race for a short distance. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.SALIKA DIVA – Bumped on the hind quarters shortly after start and became unbalanced. Race 7: CMT CONSTRUCTIONS FNQ Maiden Plate 940 metres Correct weight was delayed allowing rider P. Romeo (BELLA’S IN COMMAND) to view the stewards patrol footage to ascertain if he had grounds to lodge an objection against MAKANUI being declared the winner. After looking at the available footage jockey P. Romeo did not wish to proceed and correct weight was declared on the judge’s semaphored numbers. BOHEMIAN FLYER – As the gelding was returning from a lengthy spell it underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start.Appeared to shy near the 100 metres and put in an awkward stride. MAKANUI – Bumped on the hindquarters leaving the 300 metres and shifted in slightly. MERRY OLD SOUL (NZ) – Shifted out abruptly leaving the 200 metres inconveniencing PAPARAZZI ROCKET. Whilst stewards noted the gelding was having its first race start jockey L. Morrison was advised to show greater care. PELSAERT (NZ) – Raced wide for the majority of the race. MUTAFIQ – Made the 800 metre crossing awkwardly. BELLA'S IN COMMAND – Raced in restricted room for a short distance leaving the 300 metres. MADONNACAN'TSING – Began awkwardly. Shifted out leaving the 300 metres placing BELLA’S COMMAND in restricted room. Shifted ground under pressure in the home straight. Rider D. Smith was advised to show greater care. MISS DAURIAN – Raced wide for the majority of the race. PAPARAZZI ROCKET – Inconvenienced leaving the 200 metres. Race 8: THE HAMBLEDON HOTEL BENCHMARK 70 Handicap940 metres LOUD NOISE – Ran backwards on entering the course proper and lost its footing, dislodging jockey M. Abe and galloping for some distance. After being examined by the veterinary surgeon at the barriers was found to in a distressed state and soreness in the hindquarters and was declared a late scratching at 4.10pm.All monies invested on LOUD NOISE were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 4.10pm: Trainers T & P Rowe were advised the gelding must obtain a veterinary clearance prior to being permitted to race again. 7 x cents in the dollar for the win KING JESTER 6 x cents in the dollar for the place of winner KING JESTER 8 cents in the dollar for 2nd place AVATEA 11 cents in the dollar for 3rd place HOKOLESQUA NEW KING (GB) – Slow to begin. AVATEA – Shifted in at the start making heavy contact with EVIL EYE MAC. Saddle shifted back during running placing jockey L. Morrison at a disadvantage. EVIL EYE MAC – Bumped heavily on jumping and lost ground.A post-race veterinary examination on the gelding revealed an injury to its near front foot.Trainer N. Homann was advised she must provide a veterinary certificate of soundness prior to its next race start. ENDORSE – Bounded in the air on jumping and lost ground. Raced fiercely in the middle stages. Race 9: CASHCOR ENGINEERING QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 940 metres LATE NIGHT – Fractious in the barriers and underwent a veterinary examination prior to the start and was cleared to start. Raced in restricted room for a short distance soon after the start. AMBER'S POWER – Slow to begin and then commenced to buck for some distance. Trainers T & P Rowe were advised the gelding must undergo a satisfactory trial prior to being permitted to race again. WISHEART – Began awkwardly. MINIEST – Over-raced in the early stages. KING'S HALO – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 10: RED ROOSTER RAINTREES & MOUNT SHERIDAN RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap 940 metres DEORA – As the gelding was returning from a lengthy spell it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Tightened for room on jumping. MUSICAL GIRL – Worked hard during its preliminary, underwent a veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and was cleared to start. Shifted in on jumping tightening runners to its inside. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. ALWAYS WRITTEN OFF – Slow to begin. Crowded for room over the concluding stages. ENUFF ROSES – Shifted out on jumping tightening runners to its outside. Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages crowding runners to its outside. MISSA STITCH – Tightened for room on jumping. WHOBETHATNOW – Lost ground when tightened for room on jumping. ACCTORIES – Crowded for room over the concluding stages.
