Walburgh-Scmidt (Asst Stewards) SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT GENERALThe following runners which had not raced for an extended period all underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and were cleared to start. Sheargold +1kgRace 1: CAIRNS CAR BROKERS MAIDEN PLATE 1250 Metres MISHANI BURN – As the gelding was late arriving on course due to transportation difficulties it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Bumped on jumping. BRAMBLE – Shifted in at the start bumping with KAMMERZELL HOUSE. KAMMERZELL HOUSE – Bumped on jumping and shifted in bumping with MASHANI BURN. Over-raced in the middle stages. ARTURETTA – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race. ALFAVITA – When asked to explain the seemingly improved performance today trainer G. Kinlyside explained the gelding had benefited from its first run for the stable at Mackay on 28th September and in his opinion was better acclimatised which was beneficial to its performance today as it had pleased him in its work leading up to today’s race. His explanation was noted. Race 2: MY VILLAGE BAKEHOUSE QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 950 Metres GOLDEN OCTAVIAN – Began awkwardly and shifted in bumping SKOGAFOSS and lost ground. Restrained when tighten for room near the 200 metres. Checked near the 150 metres to avoid heels. SKOGAFOSS – Bumped on jumping. KICKAGOAL KENNY – Made the 800-metre crossing awkwardly. Jockey N. Day pleaded guilty to a charge under AR131(a) in that near the 200 metres he permitted his mount to shift out when being urged forward when not fully clear of GOLDEN OCTOVIAN which had to be restrained and lost its momentum. Jockey Days licence to ride in races for a period of seven days to commence midnight 30 November 2024 and expire midnight 7 December 2024. Jockey Day pleaded guilty to a further charge under AR131(a) in that near the 150 metres he permitted KICKAGOAL KENNY to shift out when being ridden along when not clear of GOLDEN OCTOVIAN which after shifting in and away from CORBUSIER was then checked and lost its rightful running. Stewards ordered the penalties be served concurrently to commence midnight 30 November 2024 and expire midnight 8 December 2024. In considering penalty stewards considered jockey Day’s guilty plea and recent good record regarding this rule. Jockey Day was advised of his right of appeal. CORBUSIER – Shifted out when racing greenly near the 200 metres before being quickly straightened. Jockey S. Cormack was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances. Race 3: DAVID GALLOWAY-PENNEY – CHAMPIONS IN REAL ESTATE OPEN HANDICAP 950 Metres TAORMINA RHYTHM – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. INDICTMENT – Slow to begin. FODOR – Slow to begin. BOLD TYPE – Wide early stages.BLUE KENTUCKY MOON – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. Race 4: PRESTON LAW BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1400 Metres FERUS – Slow into stride. LIDDER VALLEY – Restrained off heels near the 900 metres. Shifted in near the 400 metres crowding SEALION. ALWAYS WRITTEN OFF – A post-race veterinary examination identified the presence of blood in both nostrils. ALWAYS WRITTEN OFF shall not without the permission of the Stewards: (a) for a period of 2 months after the attack of bleeding, be trained, exercised or galloped on a racecourse, recognized training track, private training establishment, or other place;; (b) must not start in any race for a period of 3 months, and then only after: i. a gallop of at least 1,000 metres; or ii. an official trial or jump-out; in the presence, and to the satisfaction of a Steward.AR79(4) SEALION – Crowded near the 400 metres. Race 5: LADBROKE IT! CLASS 1 PLATE 1400 Metres RUN RAMPANT – Was declared a late scratching at 3.21pm by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice when found to be lame on the off front leg. All monies invested on RUN RAMPANT were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 3.21pm: 0 cents in the dollar for the win IRRESISTABLE FORCE 1 cent in the dollar for the place of winner IRRESISTABLE FORCE 1 cent in the dollar for 2nd place EUROMANTIC 3 cent in the dollar for 3rd place BELLA BIANCA Trainer L. McCormack was advised she mustprovide a full veterinary clearance prior to the gelding’s next race start or trial. JAZZ WORTHY – Fractious in the barriers and was slow to begin. BRADSHAW – Slow to begin. EUROMANTIC – Slow to begin. IRRESISTIBLE FORCE – Began awkwardly and shifted in bumping IGNACIO. IGNACIO – Bumped on jumping. Over-raced in the middle stages. Race 6: ZENBOOK CAIRNS BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1250 Metres SPIRIT MEISTER – Began awkwardly and tightened between runners on jumping. LOVE ON SUNDAY – Tightened between runners on jumping. Race 7: NIESAR PAINTING CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1250 Metres CALM IS POWER – Connections advised it would be the intention to ride the gelding back from its wide barrier. Was ridden accordingly. JOURNO – Bounded in the air as the start was effected and lost ground. INDICATIVE – Shifted out at the start bumping SUPER ART. SUPER ART – Bumped on jumping. KING'S HALO – Bumped shortly after the start and was unbalanced. LISTENTOZOU (NZ) – Wide early stages. ELLIE'S DREAM – Steadied near the winning post when crowded for room. Raced wide for the majority of the race. Race 8: ORRCON STEEL BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 950 Metres Due to interstate scheduling the start of this race was rescheduled to start at 5.23pm. DYSTOPIAN – Fractious in the barriers becoming cast and was declared a late scratching on vet’s advice. On the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on DYSTOPIAN were ordered to be refunded with following deductions to be applicable: 4 cents in the dollar for the win OUT OF SIGHT 5 cent in the dollar for the place of winner OUT OF SIGHT 6 cent in the dollar for 2nd place MUTAFIQ 3 cent in the dollar for 3rd place SATURDAY VIBES Trainer A. Malliff was advised a further barrier certificate must be obtained together with a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to trialling or racing again. Jockey S. Sheargold reported soreness in the left knee, left hand and right ribs however was cleared by QAS. KITEMA – Was injured in the barriers due to being in the adjoining barrier and was declared a late scratching on vet’s advice. On the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on KITEMA were ordered to be refunded with following deductions to be applicable: 7 cents in the dollar for the win OUT OF SIGHT 9 cent in the dollar for the place of winner OUT OF SIGHT 10 cent in the dollar for 2nd place MUTAFIQ 6 cent in the dollar for 3rd place SATURDAY VIBES Trainer A. Bailey was advised a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to trialling or racing again. HERNE HILL – Slow to begin. FIND MY CALM – Slow to begin. GROVERS PREDICTION – Slow to begin. Raced wide. MASTER ORR – Began awkwardly. Raced very wide rounding the home turn. Jockey A. Sewell advised his saddle had shifted on jumping placing him at a disadvantage throughout the race.
