Race 1: PARAMOUNT LIQUOR MAIDEN HANDICAP – 950 Metres

WHATA BOBBI DAZZLA – As jockey A. Thomson was unable to make the allotted weight she was replaced by jockey J. Taylor. In considering recent conditions Ms Thomson was severely reprimanded. Slow to begin.

PARVULUS – Slow to begin.

POWER SHOW – Slow to begin.

TARIFF – Shifted out at start bumping ASAMBE.

ASAMBE – Bumped on jumping.

TRAVELLING SWEET – Laid out leaving the 500 metres and raced wide rounding the home turn.

Race 2: GREAT NORTHERN BREWING CO. MAIDEN PLATE – 1250 Metres

The start was initially delayed due to stray dogs being loose on the course proper.

KERRY MISS – Delayed the start and was declared a late scratching at 11.40am by order of stewards acting on starters advice when refused to load. All monies invested on KERRY MISS were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 11.40am:

5 cents in the dollar for the win MR GRUMBLER
4 cent in the dollar for the place of winner MR GRUMBLER
5 cent in the dollar for 2nd place CHARM TELLER
8 cent in the dollar for 3rd place SHE'S A MISSION

Trainer R. Miller was advised the filly must complete two consecutive barrier trials to the satisfaction of stewards prior to being permitted to race again.

MAJESTIC BLAZE – Slow to begin. Shifted in making contact with running rail near the 900 metres. Took no competitive part in the race and finished tailed off. Rider C. Meehan advised stewards the filly never travelled throughout the race and did not respond to his riding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer A. Malliff was advised MAJESTIC BLAZE must trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to being permitted to race again.

MR GRUMBLER – Began awkwardly.

ROCKINFELLER – Shifted out at the start placing runners to its outside in restricted room.

MR GIGILO – Tightened for room on jumping.

SHE'S A MISSION – Tightened for room on jumping and forced outwards becoming awkwardly place on heels, was restrained and lost ground.

CHARM TELLER – Bumped on the hind quarters shortly after the start and was unbalanced.

Race 3: AUSTRALASIAN POINT OF SALE SOLUTIONS BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP – 1250 Metres

INVINCIBLE BAY – A post-race veterinary examination identified the presence of blood in both nostrils. INVINCIBLE BAY shall not without the permission of the Stewards: (a) for a period of 2 months after the attack of bleeding, must not, without the permission of the Stewards, be trained, exercised or galloped on a racecourse, recognized training track, private training establishment, or other place;; (b) must not start in any race for a period of 3 months, and then only after: i. a gallop of at least 1,000 metres; or ii. an official trial or jump-out; in the presence, and to the satisfaction of a Steward.AR79(4). Trainer F. Wieland advised stewards it is his intention that the gelding be retired from racing.

BORLOTTI BEANS – Began very awkwardly causing jockey T. Leslight to become unbalanced and lost considerable ground. Jockey Leslight dropped his whip near the 450 metres.

BETTA AL – Bumped on jumping and lost ground.

CALDANTE – Shifted in at the start bumping BETTA AL.

Race 4: NQ PETRO BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP – 950 Metres

SATURDAY VIBES – Delayed the start when proved difficult to load. Trainer S. Massingham was advised a warning would be placed on its barrier manners.

GRINZINGER BURG (NZ) – Slow to begin.

IMPARDOO – Began awkwardly.

RIGEL STAR – Raced wide rounding the home turn and shifted wider in the home straight.

DIAMATTI – Raced wide rounding the home turn.

Race 5: VELLACORP PAINTING SERVICES BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 950 Metres

DESERT GRIT – As the gelding had not competed for an extended period it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Slow to begin.

LUCKY JIM – As the gelding had not competed for an extended period it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

FLYING ARTIST – Slow to begin.

AIRBORNE HOTDOG – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

GUAPO – Raced wide for the majority of the race.

DYSTOPIAN – Fractious in the barriers. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the dorsal poll. Trainer A. Malliff was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to being permitted to race or trial again.

Race 6: LADBROKES BLACKBOOK QTIS JEWEL QUALIFIER 2YO PLATE – 950 Metres

MISS PIERATA – Was late arriving to the saddling enclosure when proving difficult to apply its tongue tie. Further delayed the start when shifted a plate enroute to the barriers requiring farrier attention. Underwent a veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and was cleared to start. Bumped on jumping and forced wider. Raced greenly in the early and middle stages.

SECRET CYPHER – Slow to begin.

MUSIC GIRL – Shifted out at the start tightening runners to its outside.

MR OREO – Tightened for room on jumping and lost ground.

RAFF VADER – Tightened for room on jumping. Wide rounding home turn.

SATISFIED MUGS – Tightened for room on jumping.

GOLD CLASSIC – Shifted in at the start tightening runners to its inside.

Race 7: NORLIFT BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 1400 Metres

HERNE HILL– Slow to begin.

CALL ME HILTON – Slow to begin.

BARMERA – Began very awkwardly.

Race 8: ELLIS BEACH BAR & GRILL BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 950 Metres

EXCITE CHOO – Slow to begin.

WITNESS ATTACK – Slow to begin. When questioned co-trainer T. Rowe explained its work had been interrupted due to recent weather conditions and further added the gelding is better suited to a longer distance than that of today’s race. He’s explanation was noted. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

MY ARTIE – Slow into stride.

OUT OF SIGHT – Compounded over the concluding stages. Jockey N. Thomas advised stewards he felt the mare was displaying respiratory difficulties. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a respiratory disorder. Trainer S. Royes advised stewards consideration would be given to OUT OF SIGHT being retired from racing but was nonetheless advised should circumstances change a full veterinary clearance would be required with the results of an endoscopic examination prior to being permitted to race or trial again.

MAKANUI – Lost its off-hind plate during running.

Race 9: TOLLY'S SIGNS OPEN HANDICAP – 950 Metres

YES DREAM – Slow to begin. Lost both front plates during running.

BOLD TYPE – Over-raced in the early stages.

Race 10: RED BERET HOTEL CLASS 1 PLATE – 1250 Metres

SPONTANEOUS CHOICE – Began very awkwardly and shifted in bumping THE COPS.

THE COPS – Bumped on jumping and shifted in bumping ISLA GIRL on the hind quarters.

ISLA GIRL – Bumped on the hind quarters shortly after the start and was unbalanced.

SHEEZALITTLETORQUE – Lost its near front plate during the preliminary. Was unable to be replated and raced bare in front. Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer N. Nelson was advised the mares nomination would be refused at TAB meetings until it improves by way of country meetings. LR 25.

SHEZAPEARLER – Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer L. Terzi was advised the mares nomination would be refused at TAB meetings until it improves by way of country meetings. LR 25. Ms Terzi further advised it was her intention SHEZAPEARLER be retired from racing.

Race 11: LADBROKES PUNTER ASSIST BENCHMARK 75 HANDICAP – 1250 Metres

OLYMPIC KORCHNOI (BRZ) – Began awkwardly and crowded for room between runners shortly after the start.

BOOGIE WONDERLAND – Stepped out away from the rail near the 900 metres bumping FODOR.

FODOR – Bumped near the 900 metres.

CROWNING MOMENT – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
