BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP – 1000m Its Wanted – Eased from heel at the 600m when racing keenly. Held up for clear running in the home straight. Sister Joy – Began awkwardly making contact with another runner to the outside. Goornong Girl – Tightened for room upon jumping and lost ground. Thin Disguise – Began awkwardly making contact with another runner to the inside. Enjoyable – Raced wide without cover throughout the early and middle stages. Race 2 - BARRON BROTHERS MAIDEN PLATE – 1200m Sparman – Began awkwardly No Further racing incidents. Race 3 - RYTRANS MANUFACTURING TOOWOOMBA CLASS B HANDICAP – 1200m Our Desert Rose – Slow to begin. Without Dissent – Refused to load. Declared a late scratching at 3:05pm by order of the stewards. Stewards declared that all monies invested in Without Dissent be refunded with the following deductions to apply. 2 cents in the dollar for the win 7 cents in the dollar for the place of winner 7 cents in the dollar for 2nd placegetter5 cents in the dollar for 3rd placegetter Trainer C. Baker was advised the horse would require two consecutive barrier certificates in front of Stewards prior to returning to race. Further to this Mrs Baker was reprimanded under AR 165(3) for leaving the course prior to the thirty minute deadline outlined in the rule. Race 4 - BILL PESKETT MEMORIAL OPEN HANDICAP – 1400m Reach For Heaven - Priceless De Hero – Laid in approaching the 1000m. Exit Only – Fractious in barriers. Slow to begin. Eschiele – Began awkwardly. Yeezy – Raced wide throughout the early and middle stages. Race 5 - TUCKWELL TRANSPORT & EARTHMOVING BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 1400m Upon returning to scale, Apprentice A. Bakos reported that she had injured her foot upon jumping. Apprentice Bakos was examined by the ambulance on course and was advised she would require a further examination and medical certificate prior to returning to race ride. Stewards fined Jockey C. Bryen $700 under AR 190(3) for accepting four rides when overweight.
