QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT CUNNAMULLA RACE CLUB – SATURDAY 10TH OCTOBER 2020 WEATHER – FINETRACK RATING – GOOD 3 Dirt RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – R Hitchener Stewards – B McErleanClerk of Scales – B McErleanJudge – ClubVeterinarian – T EckielStarter – R Jones GENERAL Due to no rider being available JABBS was declared a late scratching at 11:30am. Race1: CUNNAMULLA AND DISTRICT DIGGERS RACE CLUB Maiden Plate – 1000m THE LAST DRAGON- Slow to begin. NICE ONE WILSON- After being fractious in the barriers, began awkwardly, making contact with another runner. Was reluctant to stride out during the event proving uncompetitive. A warning was issued against the gelding. FLOWER- Improved onto heels at the 600m and was eased by its rider. Race 2: LOWES PETROLEUM SERVICES QTIS Class 2 Plate- 1000m MISS MOSS- Bumped heavily at the start by another runner and lost ground. WHISKEY APPLE- Bumped heavily at the start by another runner and lost ground. BETTY IS READY- Began awkwardly bumping another runner. ON THE BOSSA NOVA- Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination of the mare revealed it to be lame in the near fore leg. Trainer J Baker advised that it was now his intention to retire the mare. Nevertheless, he was advised that should the mare return to racing it would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next start. Race 3: CUNNAMULLA BAKERY Benchmark 65 Handicap- 1000m AURIC GOLD- Tightened for room on jumping and lost ground. BUDDIE OLLIE- Laid out for the majority of the event. ELAVADA- Apprentice D McGillivray was fined $200 for failing to claim his full allowance. Race 4: OIGLE COLEMAN MEMORIAL Benchmark 45 Handicap- 1200m SIDINA- Stood flat footed and lost considerable ground. Trainer C Smith was advised the mare would require a further barrier certificate prior to next racing. Trainer C Smith advised that he would now review the mares future in his stable. Race 5: FRIENDLY GROCER CUNNAMULLA CUP Open Handicap- 1400m HANOVER SQUARE- Began awkwardly. ALL EEZ- Over raced in the early stages and laid out rounding the home turn. Race 6: CUNNAMULLA COFFEE SHOP Benchmark 55 Handicap- 1400m SPARMAN- Jumped in the air at the start. LADY MAGIC- Raced 4 wide without cover throughout.
