GENERAL
 
As Jockey C Rogers was not riding at todays meeting rider replacements were made as per Stewards race day summary.
 
 
Jockey T Banks was permitted to ride his mounts in Races 3 and 5 overweight 0.5kg and 1kg respectively as no other rider was available. Jockey Banks was subsequently fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR190(3) for accepting rides when overweight.
 
 
 
Race 1:BROWN & HURLEY’S QTIS Maiden Plate 1200m
 
HE IS LUCKY - Jumped awkwardly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Trainer M johnston advised the gelding had tongue over the bit on returning to mounting yard.
 
SANDRAS - Slow into stride and tried to buck soon after. Trainer G Bignell advised Barrier trial required before starting again.
 
CEDAR CREEK – Fractious in the barrier. Momentarily held up for clear running rounding the home turn. Awkwardly on the heels approaching winning post.
 
TUSCAN BELLE - Raced wide throughout with no cover for the majority.
 
 
 
Race 2: SHEARER’S MUG - COUNTRY STAMPEDE QUALIFIER OPEN Handicap 1000m
 
MORI’S PRESS – After missing the start, failed to muster speed.
 
EARLY PLEA – Jumped awkwardly bumped barrier gate.
 
MENINDEE – Jumped awkwardly momentarily crowded soon after start.
 
TOURMASTER – Momentarily held up. Clearing app. 100.
 
 
 
Race 3: ‘OIGLE COLEMAN MEMORIAL ‘BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1000m
 
The start of this event was delayed by approximately 15 minutes whilst a stable hand was treated by QAS.
 
 
TOECARNARGIE MAN – Bumped soon after the start. Wide the majority.
 
ZUMA – Began awkwardly. Wide the majority. Laid in passing the 600m.
 
NORTHERN WATER – Bumped at the start, and again soon after.
 
BARTOS – Laid out passing the 600m.
 
JOEY JAWS – Bumped at the start.
 
PRIDEOFUSALL – Bumped at the start.
 
 
 
Race 4: ‘BUSTER & LORRAINE SCHMIDT MEMORIAL’ BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1400m
 
BONNIE EV – Laid in under pressure passing the 200m momentarily hampering BADGE OF GAMENESS. App A Graham was advised to exercise greater effort in straightening her mount in similar circumstances.
 
BADGE OF GAMENESS – Momentarily hampered at the 200m.
 
FORGED IN STONE – Began awkwardly & bumped.
 
HIDDEN HILLS – Bumped at the star. Wide the majority.
 
UNITARY – Jumped awkwardly & bumped. Shifted in marginally approaching the winning post crowding CLAP CHAP. Jockey T Banks was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
 
CLAP CHAP – Dipped at the start, slow into stride. Momentarily hampered at the winning post.
 
LESLIE JAMES – Raced wide the majority.
 
 
 
Race 5:WOODY’S WESTERN MAIL SERVICE CUNNAMULLA CUP/COUNTRY CUPS CHALLENGE QUALIFIER OPEN Handicap 1400m
 
TYCOON ZIP – Wide the majority.
 
WARP SPEED – Near the 1100m had to ease off heels momentarily.
 
PHYLAVE – Jumped awkwardly & failed to muster speed.
 
ITSALLKAY – Stood flat footed & failed to leave the barriers. Trainer C Tilley advised barrier trial required before racing again.
