GENERAL
 
Appr Jky M Campbell did not ride at this meeting due to person reasons which was accepted by Stewards. Replacement riders as per the Stewards Summary. Stewards permitted Jky P Randall to ride +.5kg in Race 7. Stewards permitted Appr Jky S Zoljan to claim 1.5kgs of her allocated allowance in races 1 and 2.
 
Race 1: ARNOLD SMPSON’S LIVESTOCK HAULAGE ‘CHANGI’ BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP (1000m
 
LOST MEDIA- As Appr Jky Campbell was not riding at todays meeting due to no other Appr Jky being available Stewards permitted Jky J Rudd to ride the gelding.
 
ZEITAKUNA -Slow to begin.
 
SAVVY SONG- Prior to weighing out for Race 1 Appr Jky S Zoljan advised Stewards in the presence of Trainer Mr C Smith that she would not be able to claim her full allowance. After hearing submissions from Trainer Mr C Smith and Ms Zoljan Stewards permitted her to ride SAVVY SONG in Race 1 and KUKINTA in Race 2 without claiming her full allowance. Stewards reminded Ms Zoljan of her obligation to ensure she is able to claim her full allowance in the future where possible. When considering their decision Stewards noted Ms Zoljan’s limited experience in race riding and gave her options should she have difficulty in the future.
 
Race 2: GARY ATHORN’S LIVESTOCK TRANSPORT ‘ANZAC’ CLASS B HANDICAP (1000m)
 
SOCIAL STAR-Proved difficult in proceeding to the barriers. Began awkwardly at the start then veered inward. Raced at the rear of the field for the majority of the event. A post-race veterinary examination was ordered by stewards with no abnormalities being detected. Acting under the provision of AR75(1)(b) Stewards placed a warning on the horse for its pre-race manners and for being uncompetitive at todays meeting.
 
SEEBURG-nRaced wide for the majority of the event.
 
KUKINTA- Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
MORABY GIRL (Newport)- Raced wide for the majority.
 
 
PARA PARK MAKEUP- Hung out for a short distance in the home straight before being corrected by the rider.
 
THE SABBATH- Raced wide for the majority and after entering the home straight proceeded to race extremely wide for the remainder of the event.
 
Race 3: BROWN & HURLEY’S ‘KOKODA’ MAIDEN PLATE (1200m)
 
HELL APPROACHING- Dipped at the start and lost ground. Raced at the rear of the field until approaching the home turn then began to improve into the race finishing off strongly over the concluding stages.
 
LEGISLATE- Slow to begin.
 
TAJIRI- Began awkwardly and made contact with the inside barrier partition on jumping.
 
ATLANTIC LACE- Began awkwardly by jumping out as the start was affected. Raced wide for the majority of the event.,
 
Race 4: NOEL HICKET’S MEMORIAL ‘BATTLE OF FORMELLE’ NENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP (1200m)
 
HEAT- Bumped by another runner at the start.
 
COLHOUN- Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
AZOUSTIC- Slow to begin. Tended to lay out in the home straight.
 
ANANAGRAM (NZ)- Bumped with HEAT at the start and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
RUPELTIER- Began awkwardly at the start when jumping out.
 
HOT SUNDAE- Slow to begin.
 
RED ZORRO- Stewards advised Appr Jky D Bennett to exercise more care when crossing. In that shortly after the start when crossing to gain a more forward position it was the opinion of stewards that he could have allowed HOT SUNDAE more room.
 
MR DEMOLITION- Began awkwardly and then made contact with the barrier partition on the left side on jumping then raced at the rear of the field for the majority of the event.
 
Race 5: WARREGO HOTEL’S 2024 BATTLE OF THE BUSH CUNNAMULLA QUALIFIER OPEN PLATE (1200m)
 
ART BY CONCORDE- Began awkwardly when it jumped in the air at the start.
 
HIGH COST – Stewards were notified by Jky P Randall his racing tactics were to race it with less urgency than normal and race further back in the field than its normal racing pattern. Stewards accepted Mr Randall’s advice and notified the Race Day Caller to advise patron’s of the change in tactics at today’s meeting. Stewards spoke with Trainer Mr L Baker Stewards acting under the provision pf LR67(1) reprimanded Mr L Baker for the late declaration of a rider.
 
NICK THE SKIP- Weakened out of the race from the 800m point and then proceeded to race at the rear of the field for the majority of the event despite the best efforts of the rider to maintain a more forward position. Post Race Vet examination revealed no abnormalities being detected.
 
WARRAH FLASH- Slow to begin.
 
BALLYCASTLE- Slow to begin and then raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
MISS HOFF- Slow to begin.
 
JOEY JAWS (NZ)-Raced at the rear of the field for the majority of the event despite the riders’ best efforts to improve into the race.
 
Race 6: ARTWRIGHT’S STORE ‘RATS F TOBRUK’ QTIS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP (1400m)
 
The starting time of this race and race 7 was delayed due to SAINT MARTIN having to be vetted.
 
SAINT MARTIN (Brummell)- After leaving the mounting yard enroute to the barriers Jky T Brummell alerted Stewards that his mount felt off in it’s action. A Pre-race vet examination was undertaken which revealed some lameness in the near foreleg. Stewards acting on Vet advice subsequently declared SAINT MARTIN a late scratching at 4.13pm and ordered that all monies invested on the horse prior to 4.13pm be refunded in full, with the following deductions to apply: W- 02c, Pl- 08c, 2nd Pl- 12c and 3rd Pl-10c. Stewards then declared correct weight on numbers as semaphored by the Judges. Trainer Mr W Baker was advised by Stewards acting under AR75(1)(c) that a Vet Certificate would be required prior to his horse racing again.
 
MY GIRL SKY (Richardson)- Slow to begin. On returning to scale Jky B Richardson advised stewards that prior to the start she called out to the starter for assistance and unfortunately the start was affected on or about the same time which resulted in her mount being slow away. Stewards noted her comments and will address this issue with Starter Mr R Jones and the Club as soon as practical.
 
Race 7: MAYVALE PAST. CO ‘GALLIPOLI’ RATINGS BAND 0-45 HANDICAP (1400m)
 
BAUHINIA BEANS- Began awkwardly bumping CADOUIN shortly after the start.
 
CADOUIN (B Richardson)- Began awkwardly and make contact with the barriers as the start was affected. Shortly thereafter bumped another runner.
