GOGERTY (R. Ride) and RANDOM NOTES (I. French) bumped at the start.
MINSYND and ELIZA JOY (L. Appo) made contact shortly after the start.
Near the 1200m MINSYND, which was racing keenly, shifted out to avoid the heels of GRAZIO (J. Morris) and in doing so hampered BOBSDREAM (B. Appo), which then raced ungenerously for a short distance.
MISS ALEXANDRA (M. Crawford) hung out for the majority of the race. Trainer W. Farrington was advised that a warning will be placed on the racing manners on the filly.
Leaving the 600m, ELIZA JOY, which overraced in the early and middle stages, improved on to the heels of TUBE RIDE (N. Evans) and blundered, ELIZA JOY then shifted in and bumped FAMECHON BARONESS, which became unbalanced.
RANDOM NOTES hung out from leaving the 600m and raced wide as a result.
Leaving the 200m GOLD DEAL (R. Goltz) shifted in abruptly away from MISS ALEXANDRA and as a result crowded BABYBIRD (S. Bogenhuber), which had to be steadied.

CROSS THE STAR (J. Morris) was crowded at the start between CARN (S. Fawke) and TO THE NORTH (B. Appo), which shifted in abruptly.
Near the 800m ROYAL ROCKET (L. Tilley) improved up inside TELLINTAIMZ and near the 600m shifted out to improve and as a result forced TELLINTAIMZ wider on the track.
Stewards inquired into an incident near the 400m in which JACOBUS (C. McIver) was checked when racing to the inside of TO THE NORTH. After taking evidence from jockey C. McIver and apprentice B. Appo, stewards established that at that point of the race TO THE NORTH shifted in abruptly, making contact with JACOBUS, which was forced in on to the running rail and as a result had to be checked by its rider and lost ground. As stewards were satisfied that there could not be any blame apportioned to apprentice B. Appo, the incident was reported.
Stewards sought an explanation from apprentice R. Ride regarding the performance of TELLINTAIMZ. Apprentice Ride stated that the horse travelled well and raced in the latter half of the field, which was consistent with its recent racing pattern. She added that she asked TELLINTAIMZ for an effort leaving the 700m, however the gelding did not respond to her riding and only finished the race off moderately.
Race 4: THE CRI PUBLIC BAR CLASS 1 H'CAP - 1200M
As J. Morris advised that he was to be overweight on SWEET STUFF and THE CHEROKEE GREY (Race 9), riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary. After taking into account jockey Morris's previous good record regarding this matter, stewards imposed of fine of $100.

PAGOH was held up for clear running from leaving the 500m until rounding the home turn.
Stewards sought an explanation from apprentice B. Appo, the rider of UP AND ABLAZE, which performed below market expectations. Apprentice Appo stated that the horse began well in the early stages, however he felt the horse did drop the bit from a point near the 900m which required him to place the filly under pressure from that point. He added that UP AND ABLAZE failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination of UP AND ABLAZE revealed mild lameness in the near foreleg. Trainer B. Currie will be advised that a veterinary clearance would be required before starting again.
Stewards questioned G. Killen, the rider of PAGOH, with regards to his riding of that gelding from the 400m and also his vigour in the home straight. G. Killen stated that his instructions were to ride the horse where it was comfortable and that he began to improve his position leaving the 500m and had intended to follow UP AND ABLAZE (B. Appo). He added that once he improved on to the back of UP AND ABLAZE, that horse did not take him into the race which resulted in him being held up on heels until entering the home straight. He added that when obtaining clear running upon entering the home straight, STEEL TO THE HEEL (W. O'Connell) began to shift out which resulted in him having to shift back to the inside to again obtain clear running and that he rode the horse hands and heels in his usual manner. Trainer K. Hill stated that her instructions were to have the horse race where it was comfortable, adding that the horse appreciates races over further distance and that the horse was having its first start for her and on the clockwise way of going. She added that it was apparent that G. Killen had been held up for clear running and she expressed her satisfaction with his ride. Stewards in considering the evidence before them accepted the explanation from G. Killen that he was held up for clear running approaching the home turn, however were critical of his vigour in the early stages of the straight, but nonetheless were not satisfied that his riding was culpable under the rules of racing and took no further action other than to remind jockey Killen to ensure he rides his mounts in a manner that will not leave himself open to question. A post-race veterinary examination of PAGOH failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the running of this event the track was further upgraded to SLOW 6.

O'Brien) in on to HANNIBAL AD PORTAS, which was bumped and shifted in. Apprentice L. Tilley was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
PARAFIRE (B. Appo) overraced in the early stages.
THE CHEROKEE GREY (I. Coombes) raced wide throughout.
Leaving the 600m LUCK FROM ABOVE improved into a narrow run between PARAFIRE and KYEBLEAH (M. Crawford). A short distance later LUCK FROM ABOVE was tightened for room when KYEBLEAH commenced to hang out despite the efforts of its rider and shifted out. As a result, LUCK FROM ABOVE was tightened for some distance and shifted out, bumping PARAFIRE. Trainer B. Richardson will be advised that a warning will be placed on the racing manners of KYEBLEAH.
Rounding the home turn LA MARIPOSA was crowded for room between PARAFIRE, which was hanging out and shifted in when being corrected, and KYEBLEAH, which continued to hang out.
Rounding the home turn PROMISE ACT (D. McMaster) was held up to the inside of KYEBLEAH, which shifted in.
B. Appo stated that he felt the disappointing performance of PARAFIRE could be attributed to the filly not being able to dictate the race speed on its own terms and that being forced to race wide throughout also had a bearing on the performance. A post race veterinary examination on PARAFIRE failed to reveal any abnormalities.
A post-race veterinary examination of ABSOLOUIE revealed the gelding to have a fractured jaw. When interviewed, jockey D. Baker stated that ABSOLOUIE had struck its head on the barriers at the start when beginning awkwardly. Trainer W.
