SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT:
From Chinchilla - 08.11.14.
Jason Missen, the rider of Glenthorn Avenue in race 3, was severely reprimanded for using his whip in a forehand manner more than 5 times prior to the 100m.
From Toowoomba - 01.11.14.
Race 6 - Trainer S. Jones was fined $200 for racing PHOENIX FORCE in incorrect gear.
Race 1 – XXXX CLASS 1 HCP - 1100M:
The declaration of correct weight was delayed to afford jockey C. Maund, the rider of second place getter SANTA FE DREAMING, the opportunity to view the patrol footage to determine whether he had grounds for objection against the first placed getter, EXCEEDINGLY FINE for alleged interference rounding the home turn. After viewing the patrol films jockey C. Maund decided against lodging an objection and correct weight was declared on the judges numbers semaphored.
STARLIGHT BELLE – Slow to begin. Shortly after the start was crowded for room. Tightened for room near the 600m and had to be eased.
AFRICAN CHILD – Began awkwardly and was bumped by another runner on jumping away. Wide throughout.
FLYFILLYFLY – Bumped by another runner on jumping away.
BERT’S LEGACY – Slow to begin. Had to steady off heels near the 400m when STARLIGHT BELLE shifted in. B. Evans, the rider of Starlight Belle was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground. Held up for clear running from the 200m until shifting out wider on the track near the 100m.
LITTLE PADDY – Bumped by another runner shortly after the start. Commenced to hang out approaching the 600m and when being corrected, shifted in tightening the running of STARLIGHT BELLE and then shifted out resulting in SANTA FE DREAMING having to be steadied off of the heels of EXCEEDINGLY FINE. Disappointed for a run near the 350m.
SANTA FE DREAMING - Bumped by another runner shortly after the start. Steadied off heels near the 550m.
EXCEEDINGLY FINE – Raced four wide throughout without cover.
Race 2 – CRITERION HOTEL CLASS 3 PLATE - 1400M:
PRECIOUS DRAGON – Began awkwardly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the mare had bled in one nostril following the completion of the event and will now be required to gallop over a 1000m in the presence of stewards prior to being permitted to race again.
OUTBACK LIGHTENING – Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced three wide throughout without cover.
HANNIBAL AD PORTAS – Raced wide throughout. Jockey J. Missen, the rider of Hannibal Ad Portas was fined $100 for using the whip in a forehand manner in excess of 5 times prior to the 100m.
MAKOSSA – Laid in over the concluding stages of the event.
Race 3 – ICON STEEL MAIDEN HCP – 1200M:
As C. Eaton was unavailable for personal reasons, jockey J. Hoopert was substituted as the rider of Crown The Boss.
The declaration of correct weight was delayed to afford jockey J. Hoopert, the rider of third place getter CROWN THE BOSS, the opportunity to view the patrol footage to determine whether he had grounds for objection against the first placed getter, LIGHT PHILOU for alleged interference rounding the home turn. After viewing the patrol films jockey J. Hoopert decided against lodging an objection and correct weight was declared on the judges numbers semaphored.
SEATTLE MAIDEN was a late scratching at 2:56pm on veterinary’s advice after being found to be lame in the near fore leg. Prior to correct weight stewards ordered that all monies placed on SEATTLE MAIDEN be refunded in full with the following deductions applicable on bets placed prior to 2:56pm:
0 cents in the dollar for the win #1 (Light Philou)
4 cents in the dollar for the place #1 (Light Philou)
5 cents in the dollar for the place #10 (Honey Be Warned)
4 cents in the dollar for the place #9 (Crown The Boss)
Trainer J. Hearne was advised he would be required to produce a veterinary clearance for Seattle Maiden prior to being permitted to race again. Trainer J. Hearne advised stewards that he would now be retiring the mare from his stable.
WICKED WOODY – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
COMMNADING RULER – Began awkwardly and shifted out bumping another runner.
LIGHT PHILOU – Bumped another runner on jumping away and shifted out in the early stages making contact with another runner. Apprentice R. Payne reported that her mount had a tendency to lay out throughout the event.
EXCEEDIGNLY BAY – Tightened for room at the start.
SCARLET POET – Tightened for room at the start.
HONEY BE WARNED – Bumped another runner at the start. Made the home turn wide and laid in over the concluding stages of the event.
CROWN THE BOSS – Crowded for room in the early stages of the event when another runner laid out. Tightened for room near the 400m when Exceedingly Bay shifted out marginally and had to restrain off the heels of Light Philou. Apprentice B. Newport, the rider of Exceedingly Bay was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.
YAMANNERS – Was obliged to race in a wide position throughout the event.
FLYING LUCKY – Eased off of heels near the 50m when another runner shifted out marginally.
Race 4 – CARMICHAEL BUILDERS OPEN HCP – 1100M:
JAM TIN – Began awkwardly. Passing the winning post had to be restrained when tightened for room between runners. Apprentice R. Payne and apprentice H. Phillips were both reminded of their obligation to keep their mounts straight when shifting ground.
EMBRAER – Laid in in the early stages of the event.
AMBER ALE – Improved onto heels near the 800m and was restrained.
Race 5 – CIVCON BMK 55 HCP – 1788M:
NEVER IGNORE – Began awkwardly and shifted out wider on the track losing ground.
RENNAM – Began awkwardly.
INALA CHAMP – Slow to begin.
HIP TO BE SQUARE – After being caught wide in the early stages improved to obtain a position outside the leader near the 1200m.
ZAHASEA shifted out near the 500m to obtain clear running resulting in SEIZE THE FIRE racing in restricted room for a short distance. PALPITATE which was racing directly to SEIZE THE FIRE’s outside was forced extremely wide on the track. At a subsequent enquiry, apprentice H. Phillips, the rider of ZAHASEA, was severely reprimanded for permitting her mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of SEIZE THE FIRE. Stewards advised apprentice H. Phillips that the footage of this racing incident would now be forwarded on to the Racing Queensland Training Department for further analysis and tuition.
