QUEENSLAND RACING INTEGRITY COMMISSIONSTEWARDS REPORTDALBY AND NORTHERN DOWNS JOCKEY CLUB INC. 26TH NOVEMBER 2016 WEATHER – FINE TRACK – FIRM 2 RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALSChairman of Stewards – L. Carvosso Stewards – B. Cooke & E. Hodges Veterinarian – Dr K Postle Starter – I. Henderson Judge – K. Hauff & I. Thompson Clerk of Scales – Q.R.I.C Representative GENERAL Following the running of race one Stewards inquired into an altercation that occurred in the jockey’s room between jockey K. Yoshida and apprentice S. Palmer. After taking evidence from both parties, as well as jockeys R. Goltz and N. Evans who witnessed the incident, apprentice Palmer was found guilty of a charge of improper conduct under AR.175(q) and was subsequently fined $1000, $500 of which to be suspended for twelve months providing apprentice Palmer does not re-offend under this rule in that period. Jockey Yoshida was reprimanded for the incident and reminded of his obligations to maintain a professional standard of behaviour at all times. Evans), which dead-heated for first, alleging interference at the 200m. After taking evidence from all parties and viewing the patrol footage, Stewards established that SUN WILL SHINE did shift in across WRITTENINTHERAIN causing the runner to lose momentum; however, given that there was no contact between the runners and that L. McCoy did not stop riding her mount, Stewards could not be satisfied that the incident warranted a reversal of the judge’s placings and dismissed the objection, declaring correct weight on the semaphored numbers.
