ALPENGLOW – When questioned as to the horse's seemingly improved performance, trainer P. Cartledge's representative advised that at its most recent starts the horse has been racing over 1800m, however in preparation for today's event the horse was freshened up and dropped back in distance to 1200m, which he felt was the reason for the improved performance. Bayliss was found guilty of a charge under AR. 175(k) for being negligent in that the gear which he weighed out with was not presented to Mr Sutton in that the lead bag was left off the horse's gear.
