A veterinary certificate must be provided prior to the horses next race start. IRISH EYES – Declared a late scratching at 11.11 am after being fractious in the barriers. Newport advised that after being tightened for room at the start his mount then raced ungenerously for a considerable distance in the early and middle stages of the event and for that reason the horse failed to finish the race off as he had expected. NOOR DROPPER – Steadied when placed in restricted room near the 100m. OUTBACK STORM – Held up approaching and rounding the home turn. Race 4: The Dalby Diehards BenchMark 55 H’cap – 1400m Correct weight was delayed to allow the connections of 2nd placegetter, PEGGY LEIGH to view the photo-finish print. IT’S NOT CRYSTAL – Raced wide throughout. Race 5: The Dalby Diehards 200 Club Cannonball Flying Open H’cap – 1000m CWMBRAN – Began awkwardly. Pulled up quickly by its rider after passing the winning post and was found upon veterinary examination to be significantly lame as a result of quartering its off fore heel. Trainer B Waldron will be advised that he will be required to obtain a Veterinary Certificate for the horse prior to it next racing. WRITTENINTHERAIN – Steadied from heels from the 800m. Race 6: The Ostwald Bros Class 3 Plate - 1200m MAXWELLS CREEK – Tightened for room at the start. PRINCE OF PEACE – Bumped at the start. CHOPHOUSE TEARS – Bumped at the start. SUIT – Stewards questioned apprentice J. Brand in respect of her riding from the 600m. Of concern to stewards was her lack of vigour from that point of the race. Apprentice Brand reported that her mount had not travelled strongly throughout the event and, in her opinion, did not appreciate the firm track conditions despite her efforts to improve from the 600m. After having had the opportunity to review the footage of the race with stewards, apprentice Brand agreed that she had erred in not placing the horse under greater pressure than she did from the 600m. Stewards however, given apprentice Brand’s inexperience as an apprentice jockey, took the matter not further other than to advise her that in future she would be expected to show greater vigour on her horses than she did on this occasion. VIVA LA PROXY – Apprentice B. Stower was fined $200 for failing to ride her mount out to the end of the race. STEWARDS RACE DAY SUMMARY Summary of action concerning licensees ReprimandNil.
