DALBY JOCKEY CLUB –SATURDAY 03 NOVEMBER 2018

Race 1: BMO BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP - 1400M

THE GROOM – Commenced to race keenly on heels and had to be steadied leaving the 1000m.

ARCTIC CIRCLE – Began awkwardly, making contact with the barrier upright. Raced three wide without cover throughout.

GENERAL KINGSMAN – Near the 800m raced in restricted room and bumped another runner.

DAZET – Bumped by another runner near the 800m.

OH NO NOT AGAIN – Began awkwardly.

Race 2: DALBY RUGBY UNION MAIDEN PLATE – 1400M

PIPEMAJOR – Shifted in over final stages and made heavy contact with IN YOUR ELEMENT.

IN YOUR ELEMENT – Bumped by TELFORD near the 1100m and became awkward. Shifted out over final stages and made heavy contact with PIPEMAJOR.

OUR MATE TURTLE – Tightened for room between runners and lost ground at the start. Leaving the 1000m commenced to over race and was obliged to race wide.

TELFORD – Raced greenly throughout. Commenced to lay in, in the home straight.

CAUGHT RED HANDED – Raced very wide throughout. Stewards questioned App. S. Wilcock, in the presence of Apprentice Jockey Advocate B. Saunders in relation to her riding in a very wide position throughout. She advised that after beginning from wide barrier she elected to settle in a wide position in an attempt to keep the gelding balanced as she found it to be racing green, in doing so it would allow the gelding to travel more comfortably throughout. Having had the opportunity to review the film App. Wilcock agreed that she had erred in settling in very wide position and that she should have attempted to find a closer position to the rail during the event. Stewards were mindful of App. Willock’s inexperience as an apprentice rider and therefore took the matter no further.

Race 3: WILLY WHEATMAN CLASS B HANDICAP – 1200M

ALL ONE CLASS – Blundered at the start. Raced wide throughout.

I’M FAVULOUS – Raced wide throughout.

MISSY ATTITUDE – Began with its head in the air and lost ground. Made contact with the running rail near the 800m.

TORQUATO TASSO – Raced keenly and had to steady on multiple occasions in the early stages.

LA VOGLIA – Obliged to shift in to avoid heels near the 100m when ANGELS LOVE commenced to lay in App. A. Thompson was advised to exercise more care.

ANGELS LOVE – Raced wide without cover throughout. Laid in over the final stages.

FISH BURGER – Raced in restricted room near the 800m. Rider R. Goldsbury reported that in her opinion the gelding didn’t handle the high allotted weight and found it difficult around the tight turning track. Post-race Veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

Race 4: ICON STEEL OPEN HANDICAP – 1000M

ROUGH EDDIE – Trainer L. Hatch was fined $100 for failing to enact a gear change (blinkers) by the prescribed time.

NICCO’S LASS – Shifted out on jumping.

KLAMMER – Raced three wide without cover throughout.

NATIONAL TRAIL – Slow to begin. Raced keen in the early stages. Trainer T. Sears explained that in his opinion the gelding had every chance however was slightly disappointing on its run home.

Race 5: O'SHEAS WINDSOR HOTEL BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1000M

On return to scale, J. King rider of the fifth placegetter, MAC’S BOY lodged an objection against YOUL BEATEM being declared the winner, alleging interference leaving the 150m. After taking evidence from all parties and viewing the patrol footage, Stewards could not be satisfied that the minimal interference suffered by MAC’S BOY leaving the 150m was sufficient to alter the placings bearing in mind the margin between the runner at the conclusion of the event. Therefore stewards dismissed the objection.

MAN OVERBOARD – Raced in restricted room leaving 800m.

SEA PRAISE – Held up leaving the 150m, and was obliged to shift in to obtain clear running.

ZOOMING – Raced ride throughout. Commenced to shift in under pressure leaving the 150m. Apprentice M. Wishart was fined $100 for use of whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

MAC’S BOY – Raced wide without cover throughout. Near the 150m eased from heels when ZOOMING shifted in under pressure. App. Wishart was advised to exercise more care.
