Jockey B. Appo was absent from the meeting due to an injury sustained at track work on the morning of this event. Jockey B. Appo was advised he would need to obtain a medical certificate prior to returning to race riding. Replacement and late scratching’s as per stewards summary.
 
Apprentice M. Schrapel was fined $100 under AR.85B for failing to fulfil his riding engagement in race four at today’s event. Replacement as per steward is summary.
 
 
 
RACE 1: D&ND JOCKEY CLUB BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP – 1000m
 
SHEEZALADY – Declared a late scratching by order of the stewards at 9:40am.
 
EXCEEDINGLY KOOL – Began awkwardly. Inclined to hang out throughout the early and middle stages. Apprentice M. Wishart was fined $200 under AR.137A(5)(a)(ii) for her use of the whip eleven times prior to the 100m.
 
TOECANARGIE MAN – Began awkwardly. Brushed by another runner shortly after the start.
 
ZOOMING – Began awkwardly making contact with another runner to the inside shortly after the start.
 
 
 
RACE 2: LEAGUES CLUB CLASS B HANDICAP – 1000m
 
REAL ORDEAL – Raced in restricted room rounding the 500m turn.
 
COLPO DI TAMBURO – Slow to begin.
 
AVASA – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
AVALANCHE WARNING – Travelled awkwardly, jumping a discoloured grass patch at the 250m mark.
 
PRINCESS KANDIS – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
LADY SELKIE – Slow to begin.
 
TORQUATO TASSO – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
 
RACE 3: MYALL CREEK SLSC MAIDEN PLATE – 1100m
 
ZALIBRI – Placed in restricted room approaching the 900m, raced ungenerously for a short distance approaching the 850m.
 
JONDY JOY – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure throughout the early and middle stages. Shifted in at the 900m placing ZALIBRI in restricted room despite the efforts of its rider. Jockey N. Nishio was reprimanded for careless riding under AR.137(a).
 
BLACK ENVY – When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of the horse, Jockey N. Tomizawa advised that in his opinion the runner failed to respond to hard riding throughout. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
TWO SHADES – Slow into stride. Raced ungenerously from the 950m.
 
BIANCATAK – Upon returning to scale Jockey P. Romeo reported that his mount was inclined to hang out rounding the home turn.
 

RACE 4: HENRY SMILES MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 1200m
 
EREBOR – Slow into stride. Raced wide without cover throughout the middle stages.
 
CLOSE ENOUGH – Began awkwardly making contact with another runner to the outside.
 
FALKIRK DRIVE – Began awkwardly shifting out abruptly.
 
 
 
RACE 5: DONNIE & BRENDAN CRI GOLF CUP BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP – 1400m
 
EFFECTIVE ASSASSIN – Began awkwardly making heavy contact with another runner to the outside.

RACE 6: BREA & DARREN SMITH WEDDING CELEBRATION BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP – 1400m
 
IN YOUR ELEMENT – Shifted out abruptly at the 50m mark.
 
PRINCE OF BARODA – Held up approaching the home turn.
 
BEDAZZLE ME – Began awkwardly making heavy contact with another runner to the outside. Tailed off from the 1000m taking no competitive part in the event. Upon returning to scale, Jockey T. Williams advised that in her opinion the runner failed to stretch out and was awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding lame in the near fore leg. Trainer M. Boland was advised the gelding would require a veterinary certificate and would have to pass a satisfactory trial prior to returning to race.
 
MORNING FARE – Raced four wide without cover throughout.
 
DITZY DARCY -   Raced three wide without cover throughout. Upon returning to scale apprentice M. Wishart reported that her mount failed to respond when placed under pressure throughout.
