Race 1: TAB CLASS 3 PLATE – 1788M
 
INKULU – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
THE IRONS – Hung out rounding the home turn. Shifted in abruptly whilst under pressure near the 200m.
 
SHADOW EMPIRE – Began awkwardly. Bumped on the point of the home turn.
 
STORM SYSTEM – Began awkwardly and made contact with the barrier partition.
 
KASTANOS – Began awkwardly.
 
RED MONKEY – Tightened for room at the start. After racing keenly in the early stages, the horse was allowed to stride forward passing the 1100m, and then raced 3 wide for the remainder. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
DELANEY’S DESIRE – Tightened for room at the start. Raced with its head in the air whilst passing the winning post on the first occasion. Bumped on the point of the home turn.
 
Race 2: TAB MAIDEN H’CAP – 1200M
 
BOOMI’S BUDDY – Bumped by ZABRING when that runner attempted a narrow run near the 500m. Raced greenly throughout.
 
ZABRING – Slow to begin.
 
WE WANT IT ALL – Had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight.
 
Race 3: TAB MAIDEN H’CAP – 1200M
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Apprentice S. Tomlinson made application to have ROYAL ASSASSIN declared a non-runner on the grounds that the horse’s barrier gate had been slow to open which resulted in his mount being denied a fair start. After viewing the patrol footage, Stewards agreed with Apprentice Tomlinson’s assessment that the horse had been denied a fair start, and therefore declared the horse a non-runner under the provisions of AR. 204(1)(c). Stewards further ordered that all monies invested on the horse be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
 
20 cents in the dollar for the win #3
26 cents in the dollar for place of winner #3
7 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #2
33 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #10
 
The starter was advised to cease using barrier 6 for the remainder of the meeting.
 
FOR THE BOYS – A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which weakened in the home straight, revealed no significant findings.
 
CORKONIAN – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
IONA VIKING – Laid out in the home straight.
 
RINGO’S MAGIC – Raced keenly in the early stages, and lost ground whilst being restrained near the 700m. Commenced to hang out passing the 600m.
 
THELLYSON – Lost the off-side winker on the point of the home turn.  
 
Race 4: TAB QTIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1400M
 
CLAIRVUE SPIRIT – Began awkwardly and made contact with the barrier partition resulting in Apprentice B. Nothdurft sustaining a minor injury to his left foot. Raced with its head in the air whilst being restrained passing the 1100m. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
EASY INSTINCTS – Stewards accepted the explanation provided by Trainer D. Murphy regarding the late declaration of T. Treichel as rider.
 
FOLLY OVER – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
GRAND BARRAIL – Steadied from heels approaching the 1100m.
 
KOOKY – Raced in restricted room near the 500m and bumped another runner.
 
MT PILATUS – Disappointed for a run rounding the home turn and had to be steadied.
 
ALL SHIRAZ – Bumped by another runner near the 500m. Raced 3 wide with cover throughout.
 
Race 5: TAB BENCHMARK 58 H’CAP – 800M
 
ARARRAC – Bumped at the start. Shifted out whilst being ridden under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
ASK AUDREY – Began awkwardly.
 
SNEAKY SNIPER – Bumped at the start. Jockey J. King accidentally dropped his outside reign whilst rounding the home turn.
 
ALLORAINE – Jockey E. Ljung could offer no explanation for the below market expectation performance of the filly.
 
CASH’N’RUN – Raced ungenerously shortly after the start, and had to be steadied from heels. Steadied from the heels of ARARRAC (App. S. Wilcock) over the concluding stages. Apprentice Wilcock was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances in the future.
 
SECLUDE – Began awkwardly and bumped SNEAKY SNIPER.
 
BLACK JAGUAR – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
 
AVASA – Shifted out to obtain clear running leaving the 200m.
 
Race 6: TAB COLTS, GELDINGS & ENTIRES BENCHMARK 58 H’CAP – 1100M
 
CLIVEDEN – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
MAC’S BOY – Forced wider across the heels of another runner near the 800m and had to be steadied.
 
BACK CHAT – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced 3 wide with cover throughout.
 
CLASSIC BEAU – Shifted out on jumping away and bumped ORLEANS.
 
ZOOMING – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. The stable representative could offer no explanation for the seemingly improved performance of the gelding.
 
Race 7: TAB FILLIES AND MARES BENCHMARK 58 H’CAP – 1100M
 
The start of this race was delayed when SPICER and SOLO ARTIST, which both became fractious in the barriers, were declared late scratchings at 3.49pm on veterinary advice. Stewards ordered that all monies invested on SPICER and SOLO ARTIST be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
 
22 cents in the dollar for the win #4
16 cents in the dollar for place of winner #4
26 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #2
19 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #6
A post-race veterinary examination of SPICER revealed the mare to be lame in the near hind leg. Trainer K. Hickmott was advised that the mare will require a veterinary clearance prior to resuming racing.

DAISY’S APART – A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the mare had bled from its near side nostril. Trainer J. Gregory was advised that the mare must satisfactorily gallop 1000m in the presence of a Steward prior to racing again.
 
ESSAKA – Hung out throughout.
 
SHAKE HER BON BON – Slow to begin.
 
STICK WITH ME – Shifted out on jumping away and bumped ALEJANDRA. 
 
Race 8: TAB CLASS 1 PLATE – 1300M
 
The start of this race was delayed when the hock bandages on REVERE slipped in the preliminary and had to be removed upon arriving at the barriers.
 
BENZ EXPRESS – Raced 3 wide with cover throughout.
 
JAYDEE INDY – Laid in in the home straight.
 
MOUNTEBANK – Forced wider on the track rounding the home turn. Bumped by another runner over the concluding stages.
 
REVERE – Held up for clear running until shifting wider on the track upon entering the home straight.
 
ROYAL WARFARE – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
