GENERAL
 
As S. Tsaikos was not attending the meeting today, a riding replacement was made in Race 2 as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
As Apprentice A. Thompson was not attending the meeting today due to injury, a riding replacement was made in Race 4 as per the Stewards Race Day Summary. Apprentice Thompson was advised that he will require a medical clearance prior to resuming riding.
 
Race 1: U14 DEVILS TJRL PREMIERS COLTS, GELDINGS & ENTIRES MAIDEN PLATE – 1400M
 
BLINKIN NOMORE – Bumped by another runner near the 600m and, as a result, bumped the running rail.
 
BRITZEL – Steadied to avoid the heels of RABOLINI which shifted in near the 500m and, as a result, lost ground. Apprentice Z. White, the rider of RABOLINI was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR. 131(a) in that near the 500m she failed to make sufficient effort to prevent her mount from shifting in when insufficiently clear of BRITZEL resulting in that runner being steadied and losing ground. Apprentice White’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 days to commence at midnight on Sunday 6 October 2019 and conclude at midnight on Tuesday 15 October 2019. In determining penalty, Stewards took into consideration Apprentice White’s prior good record in relation to this rule. Jockey J. Oliver accidentally dropped his whip near the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which performed below market expectation, revealed no apparent abnormalities. Jockey J. Oliver could offer no tangible explanation for the disappointing performance.
IGNITE THE MAGIC – Forced wider on the track near the 500m. Laid in over the concluding stages.
 
SELECT ROYAL – Improved into a tight run near the 600m and, as a result, bumped BLINKIN NOMORE and forced IGNITE THE MAGIC wider on the track. Forced wider on the track near the 500m.
 
DREAM LAD – Steadied to avoid heels near the 500m.
 
Race 2: CHERRIE WILLETT FILLIES & MARES MAIDEN PLATE – 1400M
 
ELYSIA – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
SHE LIKES A DRINK – Laid out in the middle stages. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
WISHBEATS – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
HIDDEN SECRET – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
Race 3: WATCH NRLGF @ LEAGUESY BENCHMARK 60 H’CAP – 800M
 
CASH’N’RUN – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start and became unbalanced. Laid out in the home straight.
 
REMEMBER MARY – Tightened for room shortly after the start. Tightened for room between runners leaving the 100m.
 
POETIC DRAGON – Eased when tightened for room shortly after the start.
 
REAL PATRIOT – Bumped  on the hind quarters shortly after the start and then laid in for a short distance after. Raced ungenerously whilst weakening over the concluding stages.
 
DENMAN DREAMING – Tightened for room shortly after the start, and then again near the 700m.
 
JONDY DES – Eased when tightened for room shortly after the start, and then clipped heels and almost fell.
 
AVASA – Laid in in the early stages.
 
FIRST BID – Tightened for room shortly after the start, and then again near the 700m. Hung out in the middle stages.
 
Race 4: DALBY LEAGUES CLUB BENCHMARK 58 H’CAP – 1788M
 
ZAGAYA – Laid in whilst being ridden under pressure in the home straight.
 
OUTTA SPACE – Got its head up whilst being steadied from heels when passing the winning post on the first occasion. Held up from the 500m until rounding the home turn.
 
ROCKUZZO – Steadied approaching the 100m.
 
SPECIAL THING – Became fractious in the barriers prior to the start being effected. Shifted out over the concluding stages.
 
A LITTLE WICKED – Steadied from the heels of ZAGAYA (App. Y. Lewis) which shifted in whilst being ridden under pressure near the 200m. Apprentice Lewis was reprimanded as a result of this incident.
 
RED CALVARY – Raced keenly in the early stages. Steadied approaching the 100m.
 
INKULU – Dipped on entering the home straight.  
 
Race 5: TAB @ LEAGUES CLUB CLASS 2 PLATE – 1400M
 
NIATROSS – The gelding, which had sustained an abrasion to its off side hip, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.
 
MY BELLY BUTTON – Began awkwardly. Dipped near the 800m. Had difficulty obtaining clear running whilst laying in for the majority of the home straight.
 
RUBY RUSH – Got its head in the air on a number of occasions whilst being restrained in the early stages. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
DROPLET – Got its head in the air whilst being restrained approaching the 1200m, and then overraced for the remainder.
 
Race 6: BOOK YOUR CHRISTMAS PARTY @ LEAGUESY FILLIES & MARES BENCHMARK 55 H’CAP – 1100M
 
MISHANI ISTANA – As App. J. Morrow was unable to claim down to his riding weight, App. Y. Lewis was substituted as rider. Apprentice Morrow was fined $100. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight.  Bumped by another runner and became unbalanced near the 100m.
 
PRETTY SONG – Raced 3 wide from leaving the 800m. Bumped by another runner near the 100m.
 
EVAMAC – Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover throughout. Laid in for the majority of the home straight. Bumped another runner and became unbalanced near the 100m.
 
INFINITE SPIRIT – Improved onto heels near the 600m and had difficulty obtaining clear running until entering the home straight. Improved onto the heels of GLENBAWNS DUTCHESS near the 100m when that runner commenced to lay in and, as a result, shifted to the outside to secure clear running.
 
PLAY NOW – Slow to begin.
 
Race 7: U18 DEVILS TRL PREMIERS COLTS, GELDINGS & ENTIRES BENCHMARK 55 H’CAP – 1100M
 
The start of this race was delayed when CLASSIC BEAU refused to load. The horse was declared a late scratching at 5.21pm. The start was also delayed when TOFU MICK, which became fractious in the barriers, was examined by the  veterinary surgeon and also declared a late scratching at 5.21pm. Stewards ordered that all monies invested on CLASSIC BEAU and TOFU MICK be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers:
 
21 cents in the dollar for the Win #4
30 cents in the dollar for place of winner #4
16 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #8
29 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #2
 
Mr. S. Neylon, the trainer of CLASSIC BEAU, was advised that the horse will require a further barrier certificate prior to resuming racing.
 
The declaration of correct weight was delayed to enable Stewards to review the photo-finish print for first.
 
KIMHORSEDASHIAN – Held up when attempting a narrow run for some distance from the 200m before being checked to avoid heels near the 100m.
 
DE BANDIT VEGA – As App. J. Morrow was unable to claim down to his riding weight, App. M. Savva was substituted as rider. Apprentice Morrow was fined $100. Raced 3 wide with cover throughout.
 
BESTERS – Checked to avoid heels near the 700m. Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
IMABARMAN – Stewards accepted the explanation provided by connections regarding the late declaration of C. Eaton as rider. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
