QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT DALBY TURF CLUB – SATURDAY 2 NOVEMBER 2019 WEATHER – FINETRACK RATING – FIRM 2 RAIL – 2.5M (600M-300M), TRUE (REMAINDER) OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – B. Henderson GENERAL Race 1: ICON STEEL OPEN H’CAP – 1000M ROUGH EDDIE – Began awkwardly and lost ground. RITCHFORD – Laid out under pressure in the home straight. HE’S A MORAL – Raced three wide without cover throughout. When questioned in relation to the improved performance of the gelding, Trainer D Reynolds reported that he was disappointed with the hoses performance at Clifton last start, where the jockey reported it failed to handle the track on that occasion. He further advised that the horses form prior to this was in his opinion satisfactory and based on the horses track work during the week he had expected an improved showing from the gelding today. Stewards noted the explanation. Race 2: BMO BENCHMARK 55 H’CAP – 1000M HEY DOLL- Slow to begin. SWIFT RESPONSE- Began awkwardly and lost ground. YOUR MY BOY BLUE- Fractious in the barriers. GLENBAWNS DUTCHESS- Held up rounding the home turn, and forced wider on the track by another runner in the early stages of the home straight. GENG- Began awkwardly. Laid out rounding the home turn. Raced very greenly in the home straight, proved difficult to ride out, and as a consequence went to the line without being fully tested. Race 3: O’SHEA’S WINDSOR HOTEL BENCHMARK 50 H’CAP – 1200M ZOOMING – Began awkwardly. Raced in restricted room for a short distance approaching the 900m. PRIOR ENGAGMENT – Began awkwardly tightening another runner to outside. Raced in restricted room for a short distance approaching the 900m before shifting out to a three wide position without cover for the remainder. PLAY NOW – Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground. Forced wider on the track by another runner to the inside upon straightening. THE INTERN – Hung out rounding the home turn. Laid out under pressure upon straightening forcing another runner to the outside wider. TE RANGI – Laid in approaching the 900m placing runners to the inside in restricted room. Race 4: DALBY RUGBY RACES MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M FLYASH- Slow to begin. MISSGOODYTWOSHOES- Began awkwardly. ENCHANTED REIGN- Reared at the start losing ground. I KNOW YVES- Steadied from heels rounding the home turn. FURY OF THE STORM- Over raced during the middle stages. Race 5: WILLY WHEATMAN CLASS B H’CAP – 1400M BEAUTY SECRET- Began awkwardly. BOLTIN’ DESIRE- Began awkwardly. ROYAL WARFARE- Raced wide throughout. HEAVEN HELP ME- Raced wide throughout. BEL BEAU- App. J Morrow reported that in his opinion the gelding failed to run out the 1400m of today’s event. AKLAVIK- Trainer G Schrader was asked to comment on the improved performance of the gelding. Mr Schrader advised that whilst he had been disappointing in the horses recent performances, the gelding had continued to work well throughout the preparation. He added that in his opinion the step up in distance to 1400m was the major contributing factor the improved performance. Stewards noted the explanation.
