QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT DALBY & NORTHERN DOWNS JOCKEY CLUB DALBY – FRIDAY 22 JANUARY 2021 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – SOFT 5 RAIL – +2.5m 600-300; TRUE REMAINDER OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – B CookeStewards – R Hitchener, J Childs, P Jenkins & B McErleanClerk of Scales – S FaheyJudge – J MoodyVeterinarian – Dr G PostleSwab Attendants – D McDonaldStarter – I Henderson Race 1: D&NDJC COMMITTEE Maiden Plate 1200 metres ARCADIAN SHORES – Approaching the 200m, was forced to shift out across heels to obtain clear running when PUCKO hung in. HISGRACE – Raced wide without cover in the middle stages. KID MAC – Raced in restricted room for a short distance leaving the 1100m. Disappointed for a run leaving the 500m and as a result lost ground. SHAME JOB – Shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages. BIG BAD BORIS – Began awkwardly.Approaching the 800m, raced in restricted room and was forced to shift in making contact with KANDANGA MISS. Approaching the 400m, laid in making contact with another runner and as a result shifted out, clipped heels and blundered. PUCKO – Began awkwardly. Blundered leaving the 800m.Hung in throughout the event. BLUE CORNER – Momentarily raced in restricted room leaving the 400m. KANDANGA MISS – Bumped by another runner near the 800m. Race 2: BARTS BAR DECOR Maiden Plate 1200 metres HAIRY LOVER – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. IMPROVING – Approaching the 600m shifted out abruptly whilst laying in bumping the hind quarters of OVIDIUS. Upon returning to scale Apprentice M Castle advised that her mount was inclined to lay out throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. MAEVILA RULER – Leaving the 600m was forced to steady from the heels of OVIDIUS. PROMPT REPLY – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the event. OVIDIUS – Leaving the 600m was bumped on the hind quarters and as a consequence became unbalanced. Jockey R Goltz reported that from this point the gelding travelled only fairly and failed to quicken in the home straight as he expected. Post-race veterinary revealed no significant abnormalities. BEAUTIFUL CRAZY – Lost a near side hind plate in running. OFFICE AFFAIR – Began awkwardly and lost ground, as a result settled further back than anticipated. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Race 3: PLOUGH INN BEER GARDEN Maiden Handicap 1400 metres LICENCE TO ROCK – When questioned regarding the seemingly disappointing performance apprentice T wheeler advised that the gelding failed to settle in the early and middle stages as anticipated. He further added that his mount failed to respond under pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. MATILDA GENE – Slow to begin and as a result settled further back than anticipated. Raced keenly with its head in the air leaving the 1100m and again leaving the 900m when taken in by another runner. ROMANCE FACTOR – Leaving the 900m, shifted in abruptly when awkwardly placed at the heels of MATILDA GENE which was taken in by MISS FLETCHETTE (G Goomany) which shifted in when not completely clear. Jockey G Goomany the rider of MISS FLETCHETTE was issued a reprimand for careless riding under AR131(a). Race 4: BOOK YOUR PARTY ON THE DECK BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1200 metres THE HOOLIGAN – Slow to begin. Shifted out rounding the home turn forcing SET TO GO WELL and RAKU’S SECRET wider on the track. Momentarily held up rounding the home turn. LOVE YA BLUE – Raced 4 wide without cover throughout the early and middle stages. Hung out rounding the home turn. Jockey C Meehan was issued a reprimand under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted. MACHU PICCHU – Held up momentarily leaving the 400m before shifting out across heels to obtain clear running. SET TO GO WELL – Raced 3 wide with cover throughout the early and middle stages. RAKU'S SECRET – Leaving the 1000m raced keenly with its head in the air whist being restrained. Raced 3 wide with cover throughout the early and middle stages. PETITE ELLE – Began awkwardly. Race 5: CRACKER PRINTING BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1200 metres CRAB BOY – Slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the home straight. MILLY WILL PARTY – Raced 3 wide with cover throughout. WOOHOO GIRL – Raced keenly in the early stages. Leaving the 1000m shifted in and bumped BEACH CLUB. Leaving the 800m steadied when awkwardly placed at heels when ZOLLIKON MISS (N Tomizawa) shifted in when insufficiently clear. Jockey N Tomizawa was issued a reprimand under AR131(a). Leaving the 400m shifted in and bumped CRAB BOY. RUBY RUSH – Began awkwardly shifting wider on the track. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. Race 6: NEW MEMBERS BAR & DECK BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 800 metres Jockey L Tilley was issued a $200 fine under AR190(3) for accepting a ride which he was overweight for. LOUISE OF GLENCOE – As the mare had not started in a race for an excess of 12 months a pre-race veterinary examination was conducted and subsequently was passed fit to start. JUST FAVULOUS – Began awkwardly. Apprentice J Molloy was issued a $300 fine under AR211 for retuning to scale in excess of 0.5kg overweight. DANINA – Raced ungenerously whilst being restrained leaving the 400m. DULC 'N' LEN – Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the home straight. CHEESIE – Upon returning to scale Jockey K Yoshida advised that his mount was inclined to hang in in the home straight and proved difficult to ride out. GOTTHERE – Which was standing awkwardly in the barriers was slow to begin resulting in Jockey S Bogenhuber becoming unbalanced. Race 7: KELLY/HENRY LOOKOUT DECK BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1400 metres BY THE LAW – Bumped by another runner leaving the 600m and again at the 400m. Raced wide without cover throughout. CULLINGWORTH – Began awkwardly. RERUN – Leaving the 600m shifted out bumping BY THE LAW and again at the 400m. DUNNERS – Blundered on jumping. When questioned regarding the seemingly disappointing performance Jockey J Stanley could offer no tangible explanation and advised that the gelding raced flat in today’s event. He further added that in his opinion the gelding had come to the end of its preparation. Trainer L Hatch advised that in light of todays performance the gelding would now be sent for an immediate spell. RUSSIAN ROMEO – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Race 8: FAST TRACK Class 1 Plate 1400 metres BLACK WHITTO – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. EURO HUSTLER – Change of tactics; To be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. Subsequently settled in a mid-field position. Jockey R Plumb was issued a reprimand under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on 6 occasions, 1 more than permitted. KOHIKO – Raced 3 wide with cover throughout. MAXIMUM HUSTLE – Raced 3 wide with cover throughout. AWESOME POWER – Dipped at the start. Race 9: RACE CLUB LIFE MEMBERS BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1100 metres MUSIC SCENE – Raced 3 wide without cover. Jockey L McCoy was issued a $300 fine under AR132(5) for using her whip in an excessive manner, that being 15 occasions. DECISIVE HEART – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Held up rounding the home turn. BRAZEN DYNAMO – When questioned regarding the seemingly disappointing performance Apprentice A Jones advised the mare failed to quicken as she expected from the 400m and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. ALLENA – Jockey K Gates was issued a $300 fine under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on 8 occasions prior to the 100m, 3 more than permitted.
