QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT DALBY & NORTHERN DOWNS JOCKEY CLUB DALBY – SATURDAY, 06 MARCH 2021 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – GOOD 4 RAIL – + 2.5m- 600m-300m, TRUE REMAINDER. Trainer J EDWARDS was notified that he will be required to provide a veterinary clearance prior to the filly racing or trialing again. Race 1: FUTURE FUELS DISTRIBUTORS Maiden Plate 800 metres EDDIEGATO – Began awkwardly and bumped with FRIDAY’S JET. Near the 700m laid in momentarily and was bumped on the hindquarters by FRIDAY’S JET. Raced three wide without cover throughout. DISCO DAMO – Began awkwardly and shifted in making heavy contact with CHANTILLY LOVE, commenced to buck for some distance and as a result took no competitive part in the event. Trainer L Hatch was notified that DISCO DAMO will be required to trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to the horse racing.FRIDAY'S JET – Tightened for room on jumping. Near the 700m was again tightened between CYCLONE DIVA which was bumped and taken out by NOBLE ARCHER and EDDIEGATO which shifted in momentarily. NOBLE ARCHER – Began awkwardly. Shortly after the start was bumped on the hindquarters by DISCO DAMO and became momentarily unbalanced. Laid out under pressure in the home straight. CHANTILLY LOVE – Bumped with DISCO DAMO shortly after the start and lost ground. CYCLONE DIVA – Began awkwardly. Shortly after the start was tightened for room between NOBEL ARCHER which shifted out and FRIDAY’S JET which was taken in by EDDIEGATO. A post-race veterinary examination of CYCLONE DIVA identified minor lacerations to the near fore leg. Trainer M Currie was fined $100 under LR67 for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time. WATCH LIST (NZ) - Raced three wide with cover throughout. Race 2: EASY LIVING HOME ELEVATORS LIGHTNING OPEN Handicap 800 metres Correct weight was delayed by Stewards to consider an application made by R GOLTZ the rider of PAPA JO, to have it declared a non-runner. After hearing evidence from rider R GOLTZ, Trainer L HATCH and Starter I HENDERSON, Stewards were satisfied that as the start was effected simultaneously PAPA JO threw it head down as the gates opened, began awkwardly and lost considerable ground. Stewards were of the opinion that only for its own manners the gelding was afforded every opportunity to begin with the rest of the field and therefore denied the application and deemed it a runner. PAPA JO – Began awkwardly and lost considerable ground. Laid out round the home turn. Trainer L Hatch was advised that a warning will be placed on the geldings barrier manners. PIRACY – Stood flat footed and lost ground. TAPA – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Race 3: DALBY CABS Maiden Plate 1400 metres The start was delayed when LAURIE broke through the gates just prior to the start, travelling some distance and as a result was subsequently declared a late scratching at 1:35pm. All monies invested on LAURIE were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 1:35pm: 48 cents in the dollar for the win 26 cents in the dollar for the place of winner 30 cents in the dollar for 2nd place 31 cents in the dollar for 3rd place Trainer M KROPP was notified that LAURIE will be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to the horse racing. Start of the race was again delayed SAMHAIN became very fractious in the barriers kicking out and as a result underwent a pre-race veterinary examination which revealed the mare to have sustained lacerations to both hind legs and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 1:38pm. All monies invested on SAMHAIN were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to time 1:38pm: 2 cents in the dollar for the win 2 cents in the dollar for the place of winner 3 cents in the dollar for 2nd place 3 cents in the dollar for 3rd place Trainer N OWEN was notified that he will be required to provide a veterinary clearance prior to the horse racing or trialing again. STONELEIGH JACKSON – A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding identified it to have sustained an injury to the off-fore tendon and the horse was treated on course prior to leaving. Trainer S MESKEN was advised that the gelding will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again or trialing again. DROP THE PILOT - Hung out from the 900m until a point entering the home straight. LEGATO FEELING - Laid in under pressure in the straight. BEAUTIFUL CRAZY - Hung out from the 600m until a point entered the home straight. Race 4: INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY DALBY BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1400 metres The start was delayed when LINCOLN GREEN refused to proceed to the barriers and was subsequently declared a late scratching by order of Stewards at 2:08p.m. All monies invested on LINCOLN GREEN were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 2:08pm:1 cent in the dollar for the win 3 cents in the dollar for the place of winner 5 cents in the dollar for the 2nd place 5 cents in the dollar for the 3rd place Trainer B Ahrens was notified that LINCOLN GREEN will be required to trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to the horse racing. BY THE LAW – Near the 700m was carried wider when SKYE AND ME shifted out to improve. Raced wide for the remainder. Laid in under pressure in the straight. KASITA - Rider N EVANS was reprimanded for using the whip 7 times prior to the 100m, which is 2 more than permitted. AR132(7)(a)(ii)BID OF FAITH - Began awkwardly. Rider L MCCOY was fined $300 for using the whip 8 times prior to the 100m, which is 3 more than permitted. AR132(7)(a)(ii). SKYE AND ME - Tightened on jumping and lost ground. Near the 700m shifted out to improve. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Race 5: G J GARDNER HOMES DALBY & CHINCHILLA DALBY NEWMARKET OPEN Handicap 1200 metres OZARK – Near the 600m was momentarily steadied when racing in restricted room on the inside of SPLITZ which shifted in marginally. App A JONES was reminded of her obligations was allowing her mounts to shift. Leaving the 400m the gelding was held up for clear running until entering the home straight. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. SPLITZ – Raced wide with cover throughout. MANIAS - Tightened between runners on jumping. VOULAIT – Began awkwardly. CHAMBERLAIN - On arrival to the barriers under-went a pre-race veterinary examination at the request of the rider and was passed suitable to race. Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding did not identify any abnormal findings. MISHANI BULLITT – – Trainer T Pascoe was fined $100 for the late application of blinkers tothe gelding’s gear AR206(2). Tightening between runners on jumping and lost ground. Held up for clear running from the 500m to a point entering the home straight. VIOLET – Performed below market expectations, App. A PATIS reported to Stewards that in her opinion the mare did not appreciate today’s firm track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination of VIOLET identified a slower than expected recovery from racing. Race 6: HENRY SMILES MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1200 metres CAMARILLO – Carried wider rounding the home turn by HARAMAIN. DANINA – Over raced in the early stages. Leaving the 1000m over raced whilst being restrained when awkwardly placed at the heels of JOJO GO which shifted in. Rider A Spinks was reminded of his obligation when allowing his mount to shift out. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. JOJO GO - Trainer B Butts was fined $100 under LR67 for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time. WEARETENFORTYEIGHT – Leaving the 600m shifted out to improve. Rounding the home turn was forced wider by CAMARILLO and made the home turn wide. HEAD ON – Began awkwardly and bumped with another runner. Over raced in the early stages SET TO GO WELL - Blundered at the start, then tightened for room between runners shortly after the start and lost ground. TO LOVE SOMEBODY – Near the 400m shifted out to improved and bumped HARAMAIN. HARAMAIN – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Rider S Lacy reported that after receiving a bump near the 400m the gelding failed to respond to her riding and further stated that in her opinion the gelding did not appreciate today’s firm track conditions.
