GENERAL
 
Apprentice Jockey C. Miles was not riding at todays meeting due to being injured. Rider replacement as per the Stewards Summary. Apprentice Miles was advised she would require a medical clearance prior to returning to racing.
 
Due to current covid restrictions the following overweight allowances were approved –
 
Race 2- L. Tilley- +.5kg.
 
Race 4- V. Venkaya- +1 kg.
 
Race 1: FAST TRACK Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate 1200 metres
 
Cold – Began awkwardly making contact with HEAD DE VEGAS.
 
Izara's Dream – Momentarily steadied from heels leaving the 800m.
 
Jazz –Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
Milagro – Near the 800m shifted out abruptly.
 
Single Charge – Tightened for room on jumping and lost ground. Inclined to hang out rounding the home turn. Jumped a section of track near the 250m.
 
Head De Vegas –Bumped on jumping and lost ground.
 
Home Owner –Began awkwardly.
 
 
Race 2: BARTS BAR DECOR Colts, Geldings and Entires Maiden Plate 1200 metres
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight stewards considered an objection lodged by Jockey K. Yoshida  (AVOCA) alleging interference against the winner (WHISTLIN’ RULER) near the 600m.  After hearing submission from connections, it was established that near the 600m, when racing to the inside of WHISTLIN’ RULER, AVOCA was placed in restricted room and was forced to steady when ROMAN HEIR shifted out marginally. After taking into consideration the comments of the connections and the available patrol footage, stewards were of the opinion WHISTLIN’ RULER played no part in the incident and formally dismissed the objection.
 
Avoca – Steadied away from heals at the 1000m and again at the 900m. Approaching the 600m raced in restricted room and forced to restrain when ROMAN HEIR shifted out despite the best efforts of its rider.
 
Espanyol – Began awkwardly. Raced in restricted room for a short distance near the 750m. Momentarily held up rounding the home turn.
 
Licence To Rock – Began awkwardly.
 
Roman Heir – Began awkwardly.
 
Whistlin' Ruler – Made contact with the outside barrier partition upon jumping.
 
My Whistleblower – Improved onto heals and forced to steady approaching the 800m.
 
Magic Boom – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground
 
 
Race 3: HENRY/KELLY LOOKOUT DECK Class 1 Plate 800 metres
 
Dream Chance – Began awkwardly.
 
Maha Mustang – Improved onto heals and forced to steady leaving the 400m. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
 
Our Boy Borris – Began awkwardly.
 
Sam's A Natural – Dislodged a hind plate enroute to the course. As the farrier was unable to refit the plate, stewards gave permission for the gelding to start bare behind. Slow to begin. Shifted in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Ayepeetee – Began awkwardly.
 
Reachforthestars – Steadied when awkwardly placed on heals near the 150m when SAM’S A NATURAL shifted in. Apprentice M. Savva (SAM’S A NATURAL) was reprimanded for careless riding under AR 131(a)
 
Bartos – Hung out rounding the home turn
 
Calinda – Hung out leaving the 500m forcing DREAM CHANCE and FOX ON THE ROCKS wider.
 
Race 4: D&NDJC COMMITTEE Class 1 Handicap 1788 metres
 
Package – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
Divine Authority – Blundered on jumping. Shifted out shortly after the start tightening runners to the outside.
 
Canister –Tightened for room on jumping and lost ground. Tailed of from the 600m taking no further competitive part in the event. Jockey M. Schrapel advised that his mount travelled well until a point near the 600m where it failed to respond when placed under pressure and is his opinion proved disappointing. Post-race veterinary examination showed no abnormalities.
 
Tripper – Tightened for room on jumping and lost ground.
 
Navillus Excel – Began awkwardly.Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Momentarily raced in restricted room leaving the 600m and lost ground. Approaching the 500m was forced wider and made contact with the hind quarters of CONGENIAL MISTRESS when TRY TO BE GOOD shifted out
 
Prunda – At the request of the trainer, a post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer S. Parsons was advised the gelding would require a veterinary clearance prior to returning to racing.
 
Congenial Mistress – Began awkwardly.
 
 
Race 5: HAPPY BIRTHDAY DIXIE BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1100 metres
 
Buzzer Beater – Steadied when awkwardly placed on heals shortly after the start.
 
Better Be Better – Inclined to lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Commandeering – Began awkwardly.
 
Bay of Dragons – Began awkwardly bumping BUZZER BEATER.
 
Walshie – Held up for a short distance leaving the 400m.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Race 6: PLOUGH INN BEER GARDEN RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1100 metres
 
Brooker Avenue – Refused to proceed to the barrier. Declared a late scratching at 4pm by order of the stewards. Stewards ordered that all money invested in BROOKER AVENUE be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
 
3 cents in the dollar for the win - #10
4 cents in the dollar for the place of winner - #10
3 cents in the dollar for 2nd placegetter – #8
4 cents in the dollar for 3rd placegetter - #5
 
Trainer N. Vuille was advised that the mare would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to returning to racing.
 
My Zebrinka – Bumped CHARGED shortly after the start.
 
Charged – Bumped MY ZEBRINKA shortly after the start.
 
Not Liable – Began awkwardly.
 
Mount Padrao – Began awkwardly.
 
Graziano – Began awkwardly. Raced three wide without cover from the 800m.
 
 
Race 7: D&NDJC LIFE MEMBERS BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1400 metres
 
The start was delayed when LAURIE broke through the gates just prior to the start, travelling some distance before being re-captured by the clerks. LAURIE was subsequently declared a late scratching at 4:49pm by order of the stewards. Stewards ordered that all monies invested in LAURIE be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
 
28 cents in the dollar for the win - #9
25 cents in the dollar for the place of winner - #9
20 cents in the dollar for 2nd placegetter – #11
15 cents in the dollar for 3rd placegetter - #10
 
Trainer M. Kropp was advised the gelding would be required to complete two consecutive trials to the satisfaction of stewards prior to returning to racing.
 
By the Law – Raced three wide early and middle stages.
 
Daunting Warrior – Slow to begin. Steadied from heals near the 500m. Took a section of the track awkwardly near the 250m placing its rider momentarily unbalanced.
 
Maddiara – Began awkwardly.
 
 
 
Race 8: PARTY IN THE MEMBERS BAR & DECK RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1400 metres
 
Lincoln Green - Began awkwardly.
 
And Over Again - Tightened for room on jumping and lost ground. Laid in during the early stages. Took a section of the track awkwardly near the 250m placing its rider momentarily unbalanced.
 
Bold Pedro - Held up from the 600m to early part of the home straight.
 
While We Can - Slow into stride.
 
Romance Factor - Jockey S. Lacy advised that the gelding got its tongue over the bit during the event and in her opinion contributed to the geldings disappointing performance.
 
Mishani Pharoah - Began awkwardly.
