QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT DALBY & NORTHERN DOWNS JOCKEY CLUB DALBY – MONDAY 14th June 2022 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Soft 5 RAIL – Out 2.5m 600-300m; True remainder OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – C WarrenStewards – C Simpson, K Daily, A JohnstonClerk of Scales – D RossiterJudge – S FaheyVeterinarian – Dr K KellySwab Attendants – D MacDonaldStarters – T Woodham GENERAL Stewards permitted the following overweights: Race 4- Jockey S Lacy +0.5kg Trainer M Hemmings was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of LR36(6) for failing to scratch the dual accepted ABB ROY by the prescribed time. Race 1: TAB FILLIES & MARES MAIDEN HANDICAP 1100m LEADBURN NICCI- Bumped on jumping. Became awkwardly placed on heels soon after the winning post having to be steadied. ZATTASTAR- Bumped on jumping before blundering soon after and loosing ground. LADY DANORO- Laid out rounding the home turn. ZHUKOVSKY- Laid in on entering the home straight before being obliged to momentarily ease and shift back out away form heels. SUNIKI- Inclined to shift ground under pressure over the concluding stages. FROM THE GONG- Raced wide for the majority. LADY MANTAGNA- Shifted in abruptly soon after the winning post hampering LEADBURN NICCI. App J Cornish was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Race 2: TAB COLTS, GELDINGS & ENTIRS MAIDEN HANDICAP 1100m ARTIES DREAMTIME- Slow to begin. RHAPALONG- Raced keenly from the 800-500m. SPIRIT OF QUIN- Raced wide for the majority. PAR UN NEZ- Raced wide for the majority. ARTIES DESTINY- Stewards inquired into the seemingly improved performance of the gelding. Trainer K Kemp advised that, in his opinion, the removal of the tongue control bit and addition of the tongue tie and cross-over noseband had been significant factors in the improved performance. Stewards noted the explanation. Race 3: TAB BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 800m The start of this event was delayed approximately 10 minutes when several runners required veterinary examinations after becoming fractious in the barriers. HAUNTED HOUSE- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Bumped soon after the start. Trainer B Gorman was fined $200 under the provisions of LR67(1) for late declaration of rider on the mare. COPPER SUNSET- Fractious in the barrier. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Inclined to lay out under pressure down the running. THAWRA- Fractious in the barrier becoming cast and subsequently declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 1:20pm. Prior to the declaration of correct weight all monies invested on the mare were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable to all successful wagers placed prior to 1:20pm: 40cents in the dollar for the win28cents in the dollar for the place on the winner24cents in the dollar for 2nd place35cents in the dollar for 3rd place Trainer M Currie was advised the mare would require a veterinary certificate of fitness and a further barrier certificate prior to again being permitted to start in a race. SHE’S CROWNED- Fractious in the barrier. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 1:24pm on veterinary advice. Prior to the declaration of correct weight all moines invested on the mare were ordered to be refunded with the following deduction applicable to successful wagers placed prior to 1:24pm: 8cents in the dollar for the win7cents in the dollar for the place on the winner6cents in the dollar for 2nd place10cents in the dollar for 3rd place Trainer D Groves was advised the mare would require a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to again being permitted to start in a race. I AM FEARLESS- Buffeted soon after the start. Obliged to shift in to obtain clear running approaching the 100m. GENERAL NELSON- Bumped soon after the start. Raced wide for the majority. SPECIAL CASE- After beginning on terms with the field struggled to muster the early speed needed to maintain its position and settled in a trailing position. MORICONI- Raced wide for the majority. Race 4: TAB CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1788m TRUST IN ALOHA- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Raced wide and keenly in the early stages before making a forward move passing near the leaving the 1600m and obtaining the lead and a position closer to the inside running rail leaving the 1400m. EVERYNOW’N’THEN- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. DELAYED LAUNCH- Bumped on jumping. Raced keenly in the early stages. ICE ELITE- Momentarily awkward on heels soon after the start after being marginally slow to begin. CONISMO- Bumped on jumping. Raced keenly in the early stages. BOLD DELAGO- Buffeted soon after the start. Raced wide from the 800m when making a forward move to obtain a position outside the leader near the 500m. OUR SPIDER- Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running. GRINZINGER KNIGHT- Performed disappointingly. Trainer H Richardson advised that, in his opinion, the gelding resented the softer racing surface and is more suited to firmed tracks. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Race 5: TAB BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1400m TRI NATIONS- Began awkwardly. MODERN FAMILY- Began awkwardly and was slow into stride. Raced wide for the majority. CAPODANNO- Raced keenly from the 800m. EPICURIOUS- Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running. COACH- Settled further forward than expected. App S Champkin advised that after beginning well it became evident early she would be caught wide and rather than restrain her mount excessively to a rearward position she elected to allow the gelding to stride forward and obtain a forward position closer to the inside running rail. Stewards noted the explanation. Race 6: TAB RATINGS BAND 0-55 HANDICAP 1400m ABB ROY- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. MAMMA MEDIA- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Laid in passing the 750m bumping with DARCIE GIRL and again passing the 550m. Raced wide for the majority. DARCIE GIRL- Bumped with MAMMA MEDIA passing the 750m and again passing the 550m. Failed to let down in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. STATIC LIFT- Over-race on heels passing the 600m. Trainer R Davidson was reprimanded under the provisions off LR67(1) for the late declaration of rider on the gelding. ESTERS ROSE- Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running. ROAD TO EMMANAUS- Performed below market expectations. Jockey M Hellyer advised that, in his opinion, his mount felt dower throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination failed ot reveal any significant abnormalities. Race 7: TAB RATINGS BAND 0-55 HANDICAP 1400m TOP PASS- Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority. GOLDEN SYMPHONY- Shifted out on jumping. COFFEE COMING- Raced keenly in the early stages. Improved onto heels approaching the 400m having to be restrained and shift out. FEND OFF- Keen in the early stages. Raced wide for the majority. STELLAR WAY- Raced ungenerously from the 1000-800m. HIGH I CUE- Momentarily steadied off heels near the 500m and shifted in before shifting back out across heels soon after to improve. BADGE OF GAMENESS- Eased off heels passing the 400m. IMITARI- Shifted in passing the 400m momentarily hampering BADGE OF GAMENESS. Jockey S Tomlinson was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. The remainder of the meeting was abandoned due to the barriers becoming inoperable and the estimated time for repair being untenable with the continuation of the meeting.
