GENERAL
 
After the running of Race 1 at today’s program Stewards upgraded the Track Rating to a Soft 5 for the remainder of the program.
 
 
Race 1: MEMBERSHIP MAIDEN PLATE 1000M
 
DOUBLE COCO- Bumped with another runner shortly after the start. Under the provision of AR132(7)(a)(ii) Stewards fined Jky G Geran the sum of $500 for his use of the whip of 9 occasions prior to the 100m point, 4 more than permitted.
 
ROCK DREAMER- Raced wide for the majority of the event with no cover.
 
SIR JOHNY- Was slow into stride losing ground at the start and then raced at the rear of the field for the majority of the event.
 
BLAZING FAIRY- On returning to scale Appr Jky S Champkin advised Stewards that she felt her mount felt off in its action when pulling up. Stewards ordered that a post-race veterinary examination be undertaken. This examination revealed a minor skin abrasion on the head some bleeding on the bridge of the nose, with some swelling to the right upper eyelid. Trainer S Sixtus was advised to monitor the horse in coming days. No veterinary certificate required.
 
SARAPHINA- Bumped with DOUBLE COCO shortly after the start.
 
 
Race 2: LUNCH SPECIALS TUESDAY TO SUNDAY MAIDEN PLATE 1000M
 
BINDANGO- Underwent a pre-race Vet examination. Raced wide for the majority of the event, then laid out under pressure after entering the home straight for a short distance.
 
LYNCHED- Tightened for room at the start as a result of SHOOTING JET and BEAN COUNTER beginning awkwardly. Acting under the provision of AR132(7)(a)(ii) Stewards fined Jky N Fazackerley the sum of $300 for his use of the whip on 9 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
SHOOTING JET- Began awkwardly at the start and bumped LYNCHED.
 
SOMETHINFROMNIOTHIN- Began awkwardly.
 
BEAN COUNTER- Began awkwardly at the start and bumped LYNCHED.
 
INVANESS- Was slow to begin. Laid out under pressure after entering the home straight.
 
 
Race 3: DALBY DEVILS CLASS B HANDICAP 1000M
 
 
MAGGINNIS- Shortly after entering the home straight the gelding was inconvenienced with the rider having to take hold when FUMBLEROOSKY shifted out.
 
JAQEN H’GHAR- N FAZACKERLEY- Shortly after entering the home straight had crossed the heels of SPIRIT OF LUCK shifting outward in an effort to improve its position resulting in FUMBLEROOSKI being bumped and in turn bumping MAGGINNIS which was inconvenienced at that point with its rider having to take hold. Stewards acting under the provision of AR131(a) Careless Riding, Reprimanded Jky N Fazackerly for shifting ground when not sufficiently clear.
 
FUMBLEROOSKI- Began awkwardly. Shortly after entering the home straight was bumped and dictated out marginally by JAQEN H’GHAR which shifted out to improve. As a result, MAGGINNIS to the outside was inconvenienced with the rider having to take hold.
 
TAKE ME OUT THE BACK- Raced with cover during the middle stages of the event.
 
MAHBABY- Raced keenly during the early stages of the event. On entering the home turn began to hang out marginally before being corrected by its rider.
 
TAKE TE LEAD- Bumped by ROCK THE BOX after the start.
 
SCHNITZ CREEK- B RICHARDSON- Began well when approaching the 800m appeared to lose its position and raced at the rear of the field for the majority of the event. Failed to improve despite the best efforts of the rider from the 800m. Jky B Richardson advised Stewards there was no reason for the horse to lose ground at that point, it wouldn’t improve at that point. Stewards noted Jky Richardson’s comments.
 
HERO’S TRINKET- Began awkwardly.
 
ROCK THE BOX- Bumped by another runner shortly after the start.
 
SPIRIT OF LUCK- Raced wide with no cover for the majority of the event.
 
Race 4: DALBY LEAGUES CLUB CANNONBALL FLYING OPEN HANDICAP 1000M
 
THE TENOR- Bumped by another runner shortly after the start. Then tightened for room between runners shortly afterwards.
 
FESTIVAL PRINCE- Began awkwardly and bumped another runner shortly after the start.
 
HARD STRIDE- Acting under the provision of AR 78 Stewards ordered that a pre-race veterinary examination was undertaken and subsequently passed fit to race at today’s program. Laid out under pressure in the home straight for a short distance.
 
ROLLINWITHTHEFLOW- The start of this event was delayed allowing a pre-race vet examination after the gelding had made contact heavy with the barriers when being loaded. This examination revealed a small laceration and some minor bleeding from the upper lip. The gelding was subsequently passed fit to start by the attending Veterinarian. No vet certificate was required.
 
PATENTED- Began awkwardly and bumped THE TENOR shortly after the start. Raced wide with no cover for the majority of the event.
 
FEW TOO MANY- Began to weaken over the final stages of the event. Stewards ordered a post-race Veterinary examination due to the seemingly disappointing performance of the gelding at today’s event. This examination revealed a skin abrasion on the right nostril with no other abnormalities being detected.
 
LOVESON- Raced wide with no cover for the majority of the event.
 
 
Race 5: DALBY DIEHARDS QTIS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP
 
BOOM RANGA- Laid out under pressure over the final stages of the event.
 
CLOGS- Began awkwardly and tightened the runner to the inside at the start.
 
TRY TO BE GOOD- Tightened between runners at the start when SUNNY EKCELS and CLOGS jumped out and inward respectively then dipped shortly after the start.
 
SUNNY EKCELS- Began awkwardly by jumping out and bumped TRY TO BE GOOD. Raced keenly during the early stages of the event. Dipped at the 800m point. A stable representative advised Stewards that the horse had lost an off-fore leg plate in transit. A Post-race Vet examination was undertaken which revealed a small laceration to the rear hind coronet with no evidence of swelling or lameness. Stewards ordered that no Veterinary Certificate was required.
 
 
Race 6: BOOK YOUR FUNCXTION AT THE LEAGUES CLUB BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP
 
 
HARRYANDTHETIGER- Raced at the rear of the field until approximately the 600m point, when travelling wide and began to improve into the race from that point. When entering the home turn tended to lay out and continued to lay out over the concluding stages.
 
PHYLAVE- Began awkwardly and raced at the rear of the field for the majority of the event. On returning to scales Jky J Kissick advised Stewards that his mount had an anomaly in its action in running and despite his urgings failed to improve throughout the race.  Trainer M Patterson advised Stewards that when returning to the mounting yard the horse had lost a near side rear plate in transit and had sustained an injury to its near side hip. A post -race veterinary examination was ordered by Stewards which revealed a 7cm laceration and some swelling to the left hip region. Stewards advised Trainer Mr M Patterson that the horse would require a Vet Certificate prior to its next start.
 
ZEITAKUNA- Raced in restricted room leaving the 1200m point for a short distance.
 
ZATARA- Laid out under pressure in the home straight from the 200m for some distance before being corrected by its rider.
 
ABB ROY- Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
CHESTERS ANGEL- Slow to begin.
 
EYELEFTIT- Raced wide for the majority.
 
CLOUDY MISS- Began awkwardly and when approaching the 1000m point raced in restricted room for a short distance.
