GENERAL
 
Stewards approved the following weight variations for this meeting. Race 2 Jky B Newport + .5kg. Jky N Tomizawa did not ride at today’s meeting due to other commitments.  All rider replacements as per the Stewards Summary. Trainer Mr R Hay notified Stewards that SEQUACIOUS in Race 2 displayed symptoms consistent with colic earlier this morning. Stewards subsequently declared the horse a late scratching at 07.57am. Mr Hay was advised the Mare would require a Veterinary Certificate prior to racing again.
 
 
Race 1: COUNTRY INSURANCE BROKERS MAIDEN PLATE (1000M)
 
 
CASINO CAT- Began awkwardly and threw its head in the air at the start bumping LADY MANTAGNA. Raced wide for the majority Laid in when under pressure leaving the 200m and bumped CAPITAL.
 
CAXTON CURVE- Laid in onto EXCLUSIVE DROP leaving the 600m point before being corrected by the rider.
 
ICEY- Raced wide for the majority. Laid out for a short distance in the home straight before being corrected by the rider.
 
LADY MANTAGNA- Bumped on jumping by CASINO CAT and then raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
RAVERA- Slow to begin, then was bumped shortly after the start. Raced keenly during the early stages of the event.
 
CAPITAL EM- Jumped out at the start and bumped RAVERA. Bumped by another runner in the home straight.
 
After the running of Race 1 at today’s meeting the Track was upgraded to a Soft 7.
 
RACE 2: SQUIRES RESTAURANT AT DALBY MANOR MOTOR INN CLASS B HANDICAP (1000M)
 
I’M A TING DANCER- Began awkwardly and jumped out then was buffeted between runners shortly after the start. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
MR GORMAN- Laid out during the early stages of the event before being corrected by the rider.
 
VIENNESE LOVER- Laid in in the home straight before being corrected by the rider.
 
HOT SUNDAE- Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
DEE JAY CEE- Jky R Payne was replaced by Appr Jky R Thorburn due to be dually booked in this race. Began awkwardly with its head in the air and buffeted between runners after the start was affected. Hung out for some distance before being corrected by the rider. Laid out in the home straight then weakened badly over the final stages of the event. A post-Race Veterinary examination was undertaken with poor post- race recovery noted. Trainer Ms. C Johnstone was advised by Stewards acting under the provision of AR75(1)(b) that a Warning would be placed on the horse for its racing manners today. Stewards will contact Ms. Johnstone in coming days to seek information on the horse’s condition.
 
PONTOON PETE- Began awkwardly and then buffeted between runners after the start.
 
Race 3: DALBY ALLIED HEALTH CANNONBALL FLYING OPEN HANDICAP (1000M)
 
LEGEND OF ZORRO- Became fractious in the tie up stalls. A pre-race veterinary examination was undertaken with no abnormalities detected and passed fit to race.
 
HOLIDAY DREAMS- Raced wide for the majority of the event. Began to weaken over the final stages of the event.
 
 
Race 4: DALBY LEAGUES CLUB DEVILS TO DIEHARDS CUP QTIS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP (1200m)
 
 
SABIE PARK- Laid out for some distance in the back straight before being corrected by the rider.
 
SUDDEN SUSPECT- Raced at the rear from the 1100m point. A post-race vet examination was undertaken with no abnormalities detected.
 
TAKEMEOUTBACK- Jumped out at the start and travelled wide for the majority.
 
LES GIRLS- Stewards spoke with Trainer Mr T Dougall regarding the late rider for the horse today and accepted his explanation.
 
LITERMONT- Raced wide for the majority.
 
PHEEBLE’S SPIRIT-Jumped out at the start.
 
CHEVAL DE COURSE- Began awkward with its head in the air and lost ground during the early stages, then raced wide at the rear of the field for some distance then began to improve into the race from the 400m point. Stewards acting under the provision of AR75(1)(b) placed a Warning on the horse for its racing manners today and subsequently notified Trainer Ms. C Johnstone of the decision.
 
Race 5: MAIPBAS CPA ACCOUNTANTS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP (1400m)
 
GOOD LIFE DIVA- Leaving the 800m attempted a run to the inside of BRAVE ENOUGH when Appr Krahnen had to take hold. Stewards advised Appr Krahnen of her obligation to ensure that when attempting a run that there is sufficient room to do so.
 
MORGAN’S SMILE- Examined by Veterinary Surgeon when advised by Clerk of the Course that the gelding became distressed post- race. The vet examination revealed  the horse was suffering from heat stress and treated by the on course Veterinarian. Trainer C Hamblin was advised that a Vet Certificate would be required prior to racing again.
 
EVRYNOW’N’THEN- Slow to begin and then raced at the rear of the field for the majority of the event.
