SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT


GENERAL

As Apprentice C Sutherland and Jockey J Huxtable were late arriving on course due to transport difficulties rider replacements were made as per Stewards race day summary.

As Jockey L Tarrant was unable to attend todays meeting due to transport difficulties and Apprentice A Donald and Apprentice L O’Donnell were unable to attend due to injury replacements were made as per Stewards race day summary. App Donald was advised she would incur a 12-days stand-down from all riding duties as per QRIC concussion protocol unless she was able to furnish a medical certificate clearing her of concussion and/or any concussion symptoms. App O’Donnell was advised she would require a medical clearance prior to race riding again.

After the running of Race 2 at today’s program Stewards upgraded the Track Rating to a Good 3.

Race 1: BARRY WHITBY QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP 1200m

PALEFACE RINGO- Raced keenly for a short distance when crossed near the 1000m. Bumped on entering the home straight. Bumped passing the winning post.

RIVER ROGUE- After beginning well from the wide barrier was unable to muster the speed required to maintain a forward position and consequently settled in a rearward position with cover.

MISHANI STORM- Momentarily held up on entering the home straight, shifted out to obtain clear running and bumped. Shifted ground under pressure down the running. Bumped passing the winning post.

I'LLTELLYOUSO- Laid in under pressure down the running.

SMALL DOSES- Slow int stride. Laid out near the 600m. Laid out passing the 450m and became momentarily awkwardly placed on heels.

Race 2: BOB LAFFY COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES MAIDEN PLATE 1000m

TYSON'S FURY- Bumped on jumping.

FLYING TO MARS- Bumped on jumping.

HYDROS- Raced keenly in the early stages.

LEMON SUPREME- Raced keenly in the early stages. Shifted out abruptly near the 700m before being corrected by its rider. Shifted out abruptly and bumped approaching the winning post.

MASTER MIYAGI- Bumped on jumping. Bumped approaching the winning post. Raced wide for the majority. Jockey W O’Connell pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he did use his whip on 14 occasions, 9 times more than permitted, prior to the 100m. In considering penalty Stewards noted Jockey O’Connell used his whip a total of 23 times in the event. Jockey O’Connells license to ride in races was subsequently suspended for a period of 11days to commence 2 July, up to and including 12 July. Jockey O’Connell was advised of his right to an appeal.

ARNIE'S ARMY- Bumped on jumping.

Following the running of this event the racing surface was upgraded to a Good 3.

Race 3: CHARLES HENRY FILLIES AND MARES MAIDEN PLATE 1000m

AXIANTO- Buffeted on jumping. Momentarily steadied soon after the start. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Crowded and obliged to steady approaching the 700m.

BOITUMELO- Arrived late, transport difficulties. Swab and vet.

FANCY DIAMOND (NZ)- Bumped on jumping. Post Race Vet examination undertaken by order of Stewards due to the extended period of time since the horse last raced/trialled, no abnormalities detected.

I WANT THAT MAN- Bumped on jumping. Laid in approaching the 500m and tightened runners to the inside. App S Callow advised to exercise greater and to correct her mounts sooner in similar circumstances. In considering the matter Stewards noted there was a considerable effort made by App Callow to correct her mount.

LA HARRI- In away from another runner and bumped approaching the 700m.

LITTLE CHARMER- Bumped approaching the 700m.

WET FAT CAT- Shifted in when not fully clear of AXIANTO soon after the start. Jockey H Richardson was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Crowded and obliged to steady approaching the 700m. Became awkwardly placed on heels and steadied near the 400m. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

CRYPTESS- Bumped on jumping.

DIAMOND HEELS- Raced keenly in the early stages. Tightened for room near the 500m and obliged to restrain. Laid out onto heels rounding the home turn, shifted in to obtain clear running and was momentarily crowded before being steadied. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed the filly to have bled from both nostrils in running. Trainer representative N Boyle was advised of the provisions of AR79.

MAKE IT SO- Shifted out abruptly after being corrected by its rider when laying in near the 200m, causing App J McMurray to become unbalanced.

Race 4: ROBYN PERRETT CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1000m

ONE 'N' ONLY- Bumped on jumping.

MENSA MAESTRO- Blundered on jumping. Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight before being shifted wider and obtaining clear running approaching the 200m.

ROCONONO- App O Webb was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(b) in that she did fail to ride her mount out to the finish of the race. In considering the matter Stewards determined App Webbs lack of vigour over the concluding stages had not tangible effect on the placings.

COBURG- Lost and off-hind plate in running.

BOLD RANSOM- Bumped on jumping.

MONTANA LADY- A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the near-fore consistent with hitting itself in running.

PULL THE TAIL- Stewards permitted Jockey L Tilley to ride the mare 1/2kg over its allocated weight. Jockey L Tilley was reprimanded pursuant to AR190(3) in that he did accept the ride when overweight. In considering the matter Stewards noted the particular circumstances of the breach as well as Jockey Tilleys recent record in relation to the rule.

Race 5: MARY BARRY MBE MEMORIAL QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1100m

THE LUCKY ALIEN- Momentarily laid in under pressure passing the 150m.

GALWAY HUSSLER- Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure down the running.

ROTHGO- Slow into stride.

TOWN CRIER- Raced keenly in the early and middle stages, over-racing near the 800m.

JOJO RABBIT- Blundered on jumping.

INATICK- Shifted in abruptly and away from another runner before being corrected by its rider near the 150m. Stewards queried the tactics adopted in the early stages, particularly whether opportunity was present to obtain a position with cover nearer the inside running rail approaching the 200m. App Webb concurred with Stewards that she would have been better placed to attempt make use of the favourable barrier and obtain a position nearer the rail with cover at that stage.

CRIMSON WARNING- Began awkwardly and bumped the inside barrier gate heavily.

MISHANI AMBITIOUS- Began awkwardly.

SHOUTS ALL DAY- Laid in under pressure down the running.

Race 6: HENRY SMILES MEMORIAL QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1400m

BOOM CRUSHER- Raced keenly near the 800m when the pace slackened. Shifted out from behind heels on entering the home straight and bumped ONOMATOPOEIA, taking that runner wider across the running of WINDOW TAPPER which was checked. App B Wheeler was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) as a result of this incident. In considering penalty, Stewards noted the racing manners of WINDOW TAPPER and MOONSHINE RUN which were both laying in at the time of the incident, to be mitigating factors in the overall interference attributable to App Wheeler.

FALLGUY- Laid out near the 600m.

IT IS WHAT IT IS- Raced keenly in the early stages when being restrained in an effort to obtain a position with cover.

MOONSHINE RUN- Laid in on entering the home straight. Laid in under pressure down the running. Shifted in near the 100m momentarily hampering BOOM CRISHER. Jockey L Tilley was advised to exercise greater care and to stop riding and straighten his mounts far sooner in similar circumstances.

ONOMATOPOEIA- Bumped and taken wider on entering the home straight.

PANDA DRUM- Momentarily held up for clear running near the 350m.

WINDOW TAPPER- Laid in on entering the home straight before becoming awkwardly placed on heels, shifting wider and bumping and having to be checked. Shifted wider to obtain clear running soon after.

DESTRESS (NZ)- Slow to begin. Finished tailed off. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed a poor post-race recover. Trainer N Keal was advised gelding would require a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to again being permitted to start in a race.

Race 7: MICHAEL KELLY BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1000m

XERRI- Momentarily steadied from heels and shifted out leaving the 600m.

ROCK DIAMOND- Bumped on jumping. Shifted out and around heels leaving the 100m.

STELLAR LADY- Performed below market expectations. Jockey B Thornton advised that, in his opinion, his mount may have resented the firmer track conditions. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal a slow post-race recovery. Stable representative Mr Hoysted gave an undertaking that should the condition of the horse deteriorate in coming days the stable would notify Stewards.

SO IT BEGINS- Shifted in when not fully clear of XERRI leaving the 600m. Jockey K Zechner was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) as a result of this incident.

INSPIRED DREAM- Bumped on jumping.

FREAKSHAKE- Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority.

LES GIRLS- Bumped on jumping. Raced keenly in the early stages when being restrained in an effort to obtain cover. Raced wide for the majority.

JACKIEDOWNTHELINE- Bumped on jumping. Laid in under pressure down the running.

Race 8: TOM FRITH MEMORIAL CLASS 1 PLATE 1200m

JAMAICAN- Buffeted on jumping. Momentarily crowded near the 150m. Laid in under pressure down the running. Raced wide for the majority.

MAN IN THE MIRROR- Bumped on jumping. Shifted out under pressure near the 150m.

ZOUTHUR (NZ)- Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages. Shifted out under pressure approaching the 200m. On returning to scale Jockey K Zechner advised that his saddle had slipped back soon after jumping placing him at a disadvantage throughout the race and meaning he was unable to test his mount with his usual vigour in the home straight.

RICH AGAIN- Laid in under pressure down the running. Raced wide for the majority.

AMAZING JOURNEY- Bumped on jumping.

MADALSA- Bumped on jumping.

SALACIA- Began awkwardly and bumped on jumping. Momentarily dipped in its action near the 700m.

Race 9: D&NDJC CLASS 1 PLATE 1200m

JOY MCCOY (NZ)- Bumped on jumping.

PARUES- After beginning well and with a lack of early speed present was ridden positively and settled in a leading position.

SECRETLY BETTER- Bumped on jumping.

BORN FEARLESS- Shifted out and bumped on jumping.

TALANA- Began awkwardly shifted in and bumped. Raced keenly on heels and shifted out abruptly approaching the 1000m. Bumped on the hind quarters near the 800m. Laid in under pressure down the running.

AVELLANA- Shifted out and away from another runner near the 1000m. Bumped near the 800m.

FLY LIKE HELEN- Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid out under pressure down the running and bumped passing the 200m.

SOCIAL STAR- Bumped on jumping. Laid in under pressure down the running.

MOUNT DOVE- Trainer P Quinlan was advised that as the filly was scratched on veterinary advice a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to again being permitted to start in a race.

WORTHY ESSGEE- Laid in under pressure down the running and bumped passing the 200m. Raced wide for the majority.

RACE 10: DR. IAN KEYS MEMORIAL CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1400m

THE DEPUTY (NZ)- Bumped on jumping. Raced wide for the majority.

NAVAL ANTHEM (NZ)- Bumped on jumping. Tightened for room on entering the home straight, buffeted and lost ground. Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

MOOTESSA- Began awkwardly. Shifted in leaving the 1200m and momentarily hampered OUTLAW JOSEY WALES. App J Metcalfe was reminded of her obligations pursuant to AR131(a). Raced keenly passing the 1000m and commenced to race soon after and continued to do so for some distance.

TOUCH OF GRACIE- Laid out marginally on entering the home straight and bumped.

VISUAL ELEMENT- Bumped on jumping.

OUTLAW JOSEY WALES- Momentarily hampered leaving the 1200m, having to be steadied.

LARA'S LAULET- began awkwardly and bumped. Laid in leaving the 500m. Raced wide for the majority.
